Can something please be done about the satyr's abilities causing chained provocation?

In the Twisted Weald, if one satyr is getting hit by my Greater Dragon, and there is another satyr nearby, he will provoke it onto the creature he's fighting. This causes the satyr thus provoked to do the same thing to the next nearest creature near him usually the first satyr or yet another target nearby, and if it happens to be a satyr, they often start chain provoking each other onto my GD. They will also, but less often, chain discord each other - they seem to favour provocation first.

There are paragon satyrs around, this often causes an epidemic of satyr provocations as normal satyrs will often provoke them onto whatever they're fighting, causing even more provocation and discording to ensue.

Surely there is some limit on the amount of chained provocations one satyr can cause? It gets rather out of hand when you're trying to fight one satyr and several others spawned via the champ altar system and were suddenly recruited to beat your greater dragon to a pulp whilst breaking out in provoked fights about who is going to finish it off.

Can someone on the EA/Mythic Dev Team please look into limiting satyr chain discord behaviour? Even with lots of people fighting pets still get targeted by satyrs a lot.

I understand that these satyrs are bardic creatures, but having several satyrs beating my GD up when 2 or 3 is quite sufficient gets really hard to manage when you're trying to advance the spawn by killing the normal satyrs off, especially when the paragon satyrs start getting close to each other. This often causes a lot of paragon satyrs to be chain provoking whatever is around onto their attackers.

know how that is and most time invising doesn't break the provoke on em ether, may seem like it for a sec but they usually go back attacking mine all at once

What's preventing you from moving the spawn just far enough that the troublesome critters are out of range?

If I'm correct, he is referring to the champ spawn in the wield. Meaning the Satyrs are part of the 2nd or 3rd lvl spawn and you have to kill them to advance it further, not lead them away.

Satyrs only spawn in two places I'm aware of, The Weald and with Lady Mel. I didn't think the player meant the Lady Mel satyrs. ;)

Managing the spawn sometimes means moving it around in such a way that you can deal with it.

There is nothing preventing a player from chucking a magic arrow at a satyr and thenmoving towards the sandy area. Invis self, or if discorded below the magery level require to cast invis successfully, drink an invis pot.

Satyrs are not naturally aggressive, they are no worry to tamers or those farming Swoop either.

Deal with a couple/few satyrs in the champ area at a time. One can always bring the satyrs back from the sandy area (or wherever one moved them temporarily) to deal with them at a pace one can manage.

So let's make an already difficult champ spawn more difficult by having to lead spawning creatures AWAY from the champ spawn area? LOL, ya, ok.

Some of them, yes, precisely. They can then be dealt with in the number and order of your own choosing.

I'm not sure why you find rudimentary spawn management amusing, but okay.

First, this is not a solo spawn. It requires teamwork. Second, use the right tactics at the right time and you won't have so much trouble. If your only means of fighting the spawn is a greater dragon then you will need support. Typically I discord the normal satyrs and then sic my pet(s) on them. They will go down in 2 bites easy. The most troublesome part of this champ is when you are stuck with nothing but paragon satyrs. For them, discord is almost a must. A bard is the best weapon there. Discord 2 para satyrs then provoke them on each other. They will be provoking all sorts of spawn on each other at that point. It is a challenging spawn and should remain as is.

I park a tamer on another account outside the weald with a high hp pet then grab my pack tamer. I use my frenzied ossies up until the last level (and sometimes throughout the whole thing). The ossies have no issues shredding the satyrs or dryads before much can be provoked onto them. If I disco the satyrs, they die so fast they can't do any barding. The ossies work very well with groups. Normally we do teams at that spawn. Something like a dog or dragon will tank and be vetted by the team, and the ossies, wyrms, beetles, and mares will all commence to shred.

You are indeed correct. This happened on Oceania btw. I was invited because a guild needed members to get this champ spawn done, but I had to pull out once the spawn was becoming all satyrs, it was getting late, and I was getting tired of seeing my dragon die multiple times due to the way the spawn was provoking everything over a screen away onto my GD. I saw creatures summoned by other players and monsters that were off-screen get pulled over onto my dragon by the satyr I'm trying to kill.

There were a few tamers with GD's there, but there were nowhere near enough, and somebody popped a Harbinger in the Weald while the spawn was advancing, which really didn't help anyone at all, and was only eventually killed because they had a bard who eventually succeeded in provoking enough stuff on it to kill it while peacing it.

This thread has given me enough suggestions that I may be able to do something about it next time I get invited to do a Weald spawn. I might have to bring my rune beetle/mare out of retirement to see if they can do it better than my GD can.

Or maybe I'll have to see if my bard can do the spawn better than my tamer could.
