Cash-out Feature

I believe that one of the reasons why the money needs to be drained from the economy is to get ready for the cash-out feature. $24 for a pizza and $52 for a painting is ridiculous when a post cost $6000.

Whoever is in favor of doing away with the cash-out feature please post. If you don't suport it or want to give some reason not to get rid of it start your own post. This post is only for those that want to get rid of it so we can start making money and having fun.

  2. I really dont think we need a cashout system. The cashout system keeps us from having more fun like running casinos with slots/roulette.

I personally like the idea of the cash out feature. I like the idea of being able to make money playing my favorite game.

If EAL had a EAL casino wouldn't that make more sense? If you think about it they would be in control of the gambling inside EAL. That could be another way to control the money drain instead of having to rely on the cash-out feature.

    They'll never bring it back...sigh.

If you like the idea please start your own thread. This is for people who don't and want to discuss the reasons why? Not trying to be mean just trying to get all the information in one thread.

I like this idea. It's a good way to bring back fun and still drain money for the "unlucky" ones. LOL

  8. Sorry about that, your comment is kind of confusing

The reason the payouts are low are bc of the botters, or so they told us. When payouts come the botters will reap their rewards and more money will flow out of the economy.

I rejoined the game in the hopes that I could potentially make money at my store by selling custom content and clothes.

I'll probably let all of my subscriptions lapse if cash out is not implemented.

Making a statement like the last one is inviting people who disagree with you to post just because they can. You do not get to decide who responds with their opinion and who doesn't, you can only control which responses you read and pay attention to.

Cash-out doesn't have a whole lot to do with the need for the drains in the game to be used, that is part of a zero sum economy. No more money can go into the economy than goes out of it, which is why I stated in another thread that until the economy stabilizes, it is the usage of the ATMs that I am against, because that will flood us with more money and still nobody using the drains.

Whether people like it or not, there is going to be 1 thing that contributes significantly to payouts returning to normal and catalog prices also returning to normal.....that is liquidation of all the overflow of objects floating around in the stores category. Players have proven that they are not going to voluntarily do it themselves, so at this point I would support EA deciding to do it for them. If that were to happen, you'd see suddenly drains were being used en masse through the elimination ofthose objects and people having to buy new ones to stock their stores, and I'd bet a decent amount of e.m.u's that within a couple weeks we'd be back to the economic state we were at in EA Land prior to the AV and BF merges. If you think back objectively, you will realize that the slash in payouts happened right around the time of the merges, so therefore it is logical that it is related to THAT, *not* to the upcoming Cash Out feature. We don't even know how *upcoming* that is.....it could be a month, it could be 6 months....nobody knows, so I don't think they are preparing for it this far in advance. I think when it is implemented it will not result in a drop of payouts, it will just be that to cash out you have to make 10x the amount of simoleans to receive a US dollar RL than you get if pay per RL dollar to an ATM.

Of course you should post, no thread belongs to anybody, therefore all threads here are open for discussion/debate. There's plenty of good reasons to be 'on the fence' on both the Cash Out and Cash In features.

Like I said with the ATMs (Cash In) they are a great revenue for EA, and more revenue for EA equals a more secure future for the game to continue, however economy wise it just seems counterproductive to being able to earn decent simoleans in game, until players start using the drains that are built into the game so that the payouts can raise.

Cash Out can be a good thing because it might at least help some people pay for their account(s) but it also means less money for EA so that is the negative.

I guess with the pros and cons of both features being so heavy, I am right there with you up here on the fence.....I hope it can support us both...if it falls I hear there are some people on either side of the fence that bite in a non-playful way! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Um I don't think 10x is accurate, isn't it 686 per 1USD or something? So it would be similar but worse off (ea needs to make money too!)

I was trying to keep the thread clean. Sorry if it sounded the way you took it. It wasn't meant to sound that way. Geez, no wonder ever since I've been back on the board I've been getting emails to join a certain "Club". LOL Contrary to what you believe, people don't post just to piss you off.

I'll make my point clear. It all adds up in one direction.

Instead of trying to generate revenue by attracting gamblers with Cash-out, EA should stick to interactive entertainment. There...must be some company out there that hasn't been bought yet =). If EA really wanted to keep TSO alive, they'd create content every month. Custom content shoves that responsibility onto players, and we can make our own game instead of paying to make theirs while they profit from our work.

Cash-out in a game from an American economy will drive players from less wealthy countries away. Brazilians who play here would perceive EA Land like we'd perceive a five star Vegas palace.

If EA is going to provide test server for free, they might as well let players run their own servers to outsource the overhead of keeping the thing online. Then players can turn the payout on games back up and have fun...instead of working for hours, consuming EA's bandwidth, and multi-clienting.

Put me in charge of this software. I'll combine TSO and SimCity 4000 to make the next logical sequel, where players work, socialize, zone cities, pass ordinances, and build houses~ and businesses~ like they want to.

That~ is what Maxis would do.

I have to say that IF they get this Cash.out feature, they should fix this CC theft problems first.

So many ppl overpricing, so many ppl stealing CC from websites and earn ALOT of money of selling them here, with nothing stopping them.

But all in all, the cashout feature will be good im sure, but I must say i liked the game alot better, before they even started introducing rl money into the game, besides the cost of playing it.
