Cast your vote: Is "casted" a word?

Discussion in 'UO Great Lakes' started by imported_herc, Mar 20, 2008.

  1. Shenandoah was arguing with me the other day that "casted" is indeed a word. I disagree with her and believe it is not a proper word.

If it's not a word...what is the past tense of cast?

Whether it's a toss, a spell, a movie, or a fishing line, the word is "cast" in the past, present and future tense. I had cast. I cast. I will cast. At least that's what the nuns pounded into my head. [IMG]

Since when has playing UO ever required lessons in grammar and proper English? Are we being tested? What's my grade professor? Who died and elected any of you the grammar police? And just how many people play UO and don't speak English as their primary language?

*shuffles off and grumbles about how much she loathed English in school*
