both take a good size group and a good amount of time.A fair amoutn of deaths (ins)
for no reward. Scalis drops are near to nothing and chardybis only drops a piece of viture armor to the person who calls them up. Have quiting doing both as its not worth it, unless the loosen the purse strings. Corgul only for us unless they read this and tighten his purse.

That means more chances for drops for those of us that do still do Scalis. There is nothing wrong with his drop rates. They need to stay the way they are. As for Corgul, his drop rates are to high and "tightening his purse" would be pointless now as the market is flooded with his loot. Scalis really isn't all that hard as long as he is discorded.

I agree with cdavbar about drop rates...

Players crying about UO being a grind and clamouring for guaranteed drops are out of their minds. Ultima would get flooded with items and scripted to high hell in no time. I don't think I've ever played a game where going after an item I wanted wasn't a grind. The difference in UO is most players have been doing so for close to 15 years, after which, everything seems like a grind.

The issue with Chardybis is that it drops nothing of value. So many things the Devs do (and don't do) baffle me. You have to jump through hoops just to summon the creature via the Oracle of the Seas.

How can one of the hardest creatures to summon and hardest bosses in the game drop nothing of value?

They should put those 48 Pound Cannons (http://www.uoguide.com/Cannon) as a drop for Chardybis.

it is already planned in the system by the devs to revamp both scalis and charybdis loot as weel as adding more encounters/content to high seas. But with the small Devs team we have left, I am not very sure when this will happen ...

Well, I think that there is a fix more overdue than upgrading the loot, and that is, as I see it, that tossing a Fabled Fishing Net should NOT be used to spawn a Leviathan or Scalis but there should be SEPARATE nets to spawn them.

    Why ?

Because fighting a Leviathan is not the same as Scalis and, since players have no idea which will spawn, they cannot plan their fighting groups accordingly.

The spawning of Leviathans and Scalis should require totally separate Nets to summon them, period.

This way, those wanting to fight Leviathans would go for it and those wanting to fight Scalis would go for it planning their hunting groups, accordingly.

This fix is way more important than upgrading any loot, IMHO.

I Understand that there should have a separate way to summun Scalis/Leviathan but dont you think giving a GOOD reason to fight Charybdis and Scalis besides getting a deco Soulforge 1 tile, I think we are more due for some usefull loot/drop than anything else...

100% agreed, except that the soulforge is not a deco item, but a fully functional soulforge!

Too much over valued, though IMHO.

The Queen's Forge at the Palace gives a bonus to imbuing activities. So, unravelling there have a higher chance at producing better resources, I understand.
And all it takes is recalling there with a blue beetle packed with items to unravel.

Sure, having a small Soul Forge on board comes handy to skip that recall, but since I have seen small soul forges sell like 150+ millions and I think that they do not have the bonus that the Queen's Soulforge offers, I keep using that recall to unravel my items and forget about using a small soul forge althougether....

Unless you play on a server where you cannot recall, and thieves hang out at the Queens-forge to steal! Oh that's right there are only 2 places where that is....

I have regularly unravelled at the queen's forge and have yet to have anything stolen. I'll be happy to share the 'how' with you if are curious, but I'd rather not share it with every Stratics-reading thief on Siege. Send me a pm :D.

Sounds like Siege is full of players all the time. :D And i think, I have a good guess, what Petra is talking about.

I must admit, i like making events for other players but on Charybdis i feel a bit bad when i only get the reward for fishing him up while others do all the hard work to kill him.
I did learn to do events with him in combination with Corgul and Lobsterman. :)
