Go to the Careers section and wait for the changing background photo of the developer sitting at his desk with multiple monitors. Is that Stratics I see on the right-most monitor?
It sure looks like it.
Hmm.... dunno if I would include this review if I was taking care of the game or the page *shrugs* but to each their own...
"This is one game that might become a classic, but it isn't one now, despite a New York Times story on the front page of the business section. A game that requires a credit card and Internet access before the player can get even a glimpse of what's going on had better be incredibly engrossing or at least immediately accessible. Ultima Online™ is neither. The "undoubted future of interactive entertainment"? God forbid. At best, it might eventually grow into a solid, mature game that delivers the goods, but for now, caveat emptor." - Computer Games Magazine
LOL wtf is broadswoad doing?
That's the review from Johnny Wilson, which created the slimes named Jwilson.
so that reviews like 20 years old. what idiot would put it on the brand new front page of broadsword haha.
Sweet, they revamped the site
Time to ask about Careers ;P
Already did - they don't seem to be hiring.
If you look at the team there are now 16 names. If I remember correctly, the original team consisted of 14 members. Anyone know Pinco's IRL name?
Well looking at the reviews on that page for UO I certainly wouldn't bother to play it. Surely they can find something better to say that would actually encourage people to play not put them off. I am totally puzzled and amazed that those reviews are actually supposed to 'promote' UO?
Send him a donation and you get his name on the receipt.
Edit: Just checked and I'm not sure if it's his, Daniele?
Yes, "Daniele Guain".
I donated his page and thats the name on my PayPal confirmation.
I clicked in UO and didn't see any of the bad reviews a few are talking about. Am I not looking in the correct section?
I also did the same Viper, just now, and it seems the 3 reviews that are up now are in a positive light.
Stratics Pro (and staff) members can see who've viewed a thread. I suspect somebody saw the feedback here and updated the reviews.
YAY!!! Glad they removed it
Looks like they changed the reviews... NO idea who or why they had the earlier ones up there though.
They definitely changed the reviews and I agree Dermott, no idea how or why they had the other ones up earlier, 2 of the 3 pretty much bagged UO. Weird.
Glad they changed the reviews!
It was funny to see that old JWilson report. That boy couldn't be right if he had only one arm.
They should ad this to the page:
Ultima Online's success resulted in Guinness World Records awarding the game 8 world records in the Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008. These records include "First MMORPG to Reach 100,000 Players", "Longest Running MMORPG", and "First and Only Person to Kill Lord British", which was done by a player named Rainz during a server reset which turned off his invulnerability.
In May 2001 Ultima Online won the MPOGD game of the month award .
