    I am "getting my feet wet" with regard to values of splintering weapons. May I get input as to the value of this weapon please? upload_2015-8-5_12-20-54.png

    usually brittle splintering weapons are worthless. from time to time ones come up that are just so good they cant be ignored. it will wear out, and alot faster than one used on a primarily mage template, but its just so perfect i feel like it holds value. basically how much someone is willing to pay. i can see it going from anywhere from 30 - 150m. Ive had people buy these not even to use just to collect, so no doubt someone will want it.

    Thanks for the input. If I see some interest I will put it up for auction, with a reserve!

    I have to disagree, pretty vehemently. Nearly any decent weapon (butcher's knife, war fork, bokuto, wakizashi, etc.) with 20 splintering, 50/60/70 good hit spell (lightning, fireball, occasionally magic arrow and harm), with DI will easily net 10m, minium, even for a brittle weapon. I've sold brittle splinter weapons for over 50m, and it wasn't very difficult. However, everything I just said is true almost exclusively for PvP weapons, as brittle splinter weapons for PvM are pretty pointless and do break incredibly quickly compared to PvP.

    I don't want to call anyone out, but I think there is a tremendous amount of misinformation on Stratics regarding brittle splintering weapons, as far too many people here think they could use one up (maybe if you weren't reapairing it!) in a day or two, which that is simply not the case in PvP. I've used the same brittle splintering weapon daily in PvP for 4 months now, and its total durability is only down to 202 from 255. Don't be lazy with repairs, don't use the item below 15 durability, and carry a backup for the field until you can repair your primary one. The only splintering weapons to stray away from is antique, as those are generally pretty bad- but once again, not worthless.

    Unless I'm not seeing a picture here, and the executioner's axe is the only item here, I'd be shocked to see you get over 3-5m for this, as there is no hit spell other than splinter, and leeches/drains might as well not exist for PvP. Plus it's a slow weapon with no SSI, and the only template that would really use this is a bush parry dexxer that isn't commonly run.

    @DJ Diddles

    i agree with in part on how long brittle lasts, but part of the reason its not desireable is because we're talking about pvp. a big draw of non-brittle is the simple fact you dont have to watch it. if your a serious pvper (which im not) you dont want to have to leave just to repair a weapon. it allows for a much larger window of play when you can use it to "severely damaged" for that last fight, and then just fort it back up.

    Now, for very casual pvpers brittle is fine. but if your playing everyday for hours, brittle isnt really worth getting unless the mod combo just isnt available in anything in brittle.

    This weapon, no its not a primary PVP weapon. Its for the diehard pvper who collects weapons, or who wants the chance to use this in combat. Or for the die-hard pvpers sampire for when a spawn gets raided. Thats why i gave the wide, but low range, if it was say a pickaxe, id have said 100m to 400m. Yes it always takes good timing and a bit of luck to be able to sell at high range.

    Theres not a huge market for "novelty" weapons, but believe me theres a market. Ive sold even cursed splintering weapons that "looked good" for around 20m, and obviously on the first death they would probably be lost.

    Plus its actually a very viable pvp weapon. take a few non-ai shot with bow to aplly hld, then swich to axe and do a bleed (gaining blood driker effect) then spam mortal strike. by this time splintering has been applied and you can mana dump AI. i can see someone having fun with it.

    As for speed, if you have the common 15ssi on your suit, its actually just as fast as a crossbow or bow for mortal strike, but you only need 150 stam with this weapon vrs 210 with a bow. this weapon can swing at max speed at 210 stam, while a bow can not. Yes, you could use a faster mortal strike weapon like a harvester, but would lack the bleed and blood drinker mods, and the higher base damage.

    Yes, how much someone would pay for, and how long it would take to sell could highly vary, however i feel the pricecheck is fair. I mainly sell rares, and am very familiar with how "value" is assessed for items that the market is rather limited. I "value" a rare at a pricepoint it will most likely sell for in 1 year. Sometimes, theres just no one that wants it. Theres been sellers who end up lowering the price to about 30% of true value just to get rid of it within a few weeks. Is this the true value? not usually, they just didnt want to wait long enough to get the true value. Its like anything in UO that isnt common but rather a niche market, either sell cheap and fast, or wait for the right buyer who really wants it.

    Thank you for the insight. I am leaning to turning this into an auction!
