What the heck is going on with the GM system lately?

As evidenced by the many issues raised here, you have GM's who have no clue what they are doing, they lack the game knowledge to correctly ascertain an issue and they have no determinable level of customer service skills.

I thought you or someone like you oversaw these people.

When can we expect service levels to rise above the ...well..never mind adjectives. When can we expect something at all?

When EA raised the monthly price, years ago, one of the promises was that we, the players, would see better levels of service. Was this just a lie? Because it sure looks like it right now.

Sadly Mythic and those working under the banner have no control over the CSR Department. Its not even hosted in the same state.

I'm sure the DEV's would love nothing more than to improve the CSR Dept, but sadly EA corporate machine says no...

    Here's few more questions....

Are you guys hiring GMs right now? What qualifications do you need?
Where do I go to sign up?

I think anyone who's played this game for any length of time is better qualified than some of the people you have now to help solve probems..

I'm not saying I'd necessarily would want to, but seeing the number of posts we get on problem gms every week, I wonder at the fact no-ones asked Chrissay those ?s yet.

Can be taken as hypothetical ?s or not, whichever works best :)

As I mentioned before, Mythic (IE Chrissay and all the DEV's, Engineers. Software programmers) has no control over the GM's. Different department, different state and technically different company...

Customer service is expensive, UO is almost dead already, if you want UO to still be around with such a small playerbase, don't expect huge staff expenses.

BS, and anyway, we aren't asking for huge staff expenses, just staff that knows what they are doing is fine. Take everyone they have now, get rid of them, hire people that have played the game before. Problem solved. No "huge staff expenses" needed, just someone with some knowledge of the game.

Arrrr, but since the GMs do not be game-specific, it really do be a question o' training.

I talked to a customer service person that actually admitted that he did not play UO. He was however very helpful with my problem and actually spent the time necessary to completely work out the problem.
I could tell that he was going page for page as most customer service people do irregardless of what type of company they are representing. It also reminds me that my son was a CR person at Sun and he was performance rated on how many calls he took -not how many problems he solved. Reputation is hard to rebuild when it is low

Ditto, all my help has come from Austin as well. Besides the cost of payroll, GM's oversee other games too, I'm almost pretty sure on that.
If I were a GM and was catching hell from a player, on a game I know little about.....all I can do is my best to resolve in the best time possible, and still meet my quota.

Face it, these are people collecting a paycheck. If there was a better way to do it, they sure as heck wouldn't be a customer service rep. That job dictates the willingness to have to listen to people complain......I wouldn't do it, and hats off to those that do.

  17. that would explain one response i got that was more for warhammer than uo, when i reported an issue. makes a lot more sense, really.

I would prefer to hear a reply from the EA/ Mythic reps on this one. Personally, I don't thik any of them have the nads to approach this subject.

As previously mentioned, the devs, who are probably the ones who read and post here from EA, have no control over the GMs. So I don't think their responses here would help at all other than seeing their opinions on the GMs. Although I believe their jobs are preventing them from posting over certain issues.

    So don't hold your breath.

Chrissay don't have 'nads' - maybe a reason for the non-response?

    Gms cant post here.
Would be nice to have UO playing gms, but it leads to corruption. The gms of old were more uo players and there were many great ones, but a few corrupted made it so uo game experience on a resume for gm is overlooked.
