    Hey Connor,

I may have a chance of getting my hands on an Assassins Suit and I know from reading your posts that you use one.

I was looking at the specs

Assassins Suit - All 4 Pieces
    - Stealth 30
    - Dexterity 12
    - Stamina Increase 8
    - Swing Speed Increase 20%
    - Physical Resist 56%
    - Fire Resist 40%
    - Cold Resist 24%
    - Poison Resist 48%
    - Energy Resist 32%

So after the suit you have a spot open for neckgear, and headgear, ring, bracelet, and any other extra add-ons (like Conjurers Garb, Trinket, Crimson, etc)

Any chance of telling us the specfics of your Gear .... what is it that you wear and what mods are on each of them. I've built my Sampire based on your Template so they should work ... I really like the idea of having a bunch of repairable stuff PLUS the extra swing speed to act like extra stamina.

    I'd appreciate it .... Antony

  2. Sure, here's a rundown-

    Mace & Shield glasses
    Crimson Cincture
    Cloak of Death
Conjurer's Trinket (or other talisman, swap as needed)
    Earrings of Protection - Cold
Verite Mempo- SI 7, LMC 8, 10/24/21/7/19 (needed a bit more cold but it's workable)
    Imbued Turquoise Ring- +15 Chiv/15 HCI/15 DCI/5 SSI/DI 20
    Imbued Bracelet- Dex 3/15 HCI/15 DCI/20 DI/12 Fire
    Quiver of Infinity
    Arcane Boots

    Total Resists- 70/70/67/70/71

I was gonna ask a similar question .....

Cause the suit has 56 Physical, the Glasses have 25 Physical, and the Mempo has 10 Physical ... that totals 91 Physical.

Even when I look at Protection (-15), Reactive Armor (+15), and Magic Reflect (-25) I'm assuming that you still don't have any inscription (or any combination of) I can't get the Physical Resist numbers to jive. What am I missing?

    Antony

  5. No, just Magic Reflection. Sorry, I forget that all the time.

Question about the Verite Mempo ....

    Hey Connor,

How did you come by that Mempo? I was playing around with my Smith making them with verite ingots and then applying an imbue ... and I couldn't get any resists that high (highest was 20 I think) Was it a "drop" that was imbued? Or made some other way?

    Antony

  7. Re: Question about the Verite Mempo ....

It was crafted with either a verite or valorite runic hammer.

Re: Question about the Verite Mempo ....

Just to understand it correctly .....

Use a verite/valorite runic hammer and regular iron? and then you have to imbue it or you can get resists that high without imbuing?

    Antony

I just did some quick reading ... if I read it correctly ... a verite mempo is made using verite ingots and then as you stated I'd use a verite or valorite runic hammer when I made it ... hope I got that right.

And then as before is any imbuing then needed?

  9. Re: Question about the Verite Mempo ....

No, the gorget is not imbued. Those are the resists that are possible by using a verite or valorite runic hammer with verite ingots when crafting armor. The only imbued items in my suit are my ring & brace.

Re: Question about the Verite Mempo ....

I'm reading about that right now .... I've never gotta this deep into material/runic bonuses ... seems real interesting ...

Can they be imued aferwards to "tweak them" .... or do you have to get the resists and mods that you want thru material and runic bonuses?

    Connor .... any hints here?

I just bought a Verite Runic Hammer ... my 1st one ever :mf_prop:

So do I just grab some verite, and knock them out and see what I get?

Must say that this can get expensive ... I like the idea that if it's not imbued that I can always repair it.

What's your strategy for keepers ... anything other than seeing what compliments your other equipment?

Do you sell the rest or keep for another time?

    I also picked up a Talisman with a 29% Exceptional Bonus and a 21% Regular Bonus ....

I'm sure Connor has good reasons to use samurai armor, but if you are on a budget (and your verite investment doesn't pan out) you can reach those intensities on BRKs as well - and they're a lot cheaper than hammers.

  14. Yeah, basically just burn the hammer and see what you get. Sell what's worth selling and unravel what isn't. It can take a lot of hammers to get exactly what you need. The one I have I bought from someone on Europa, then paid additional to have them transfer it to Pacific for me. Finding the perfect gorget to fill the holes is not an easy thing to do.

can i ask, how come you went to all that effort? pre-SA im guessing? or do you just have something against imbuing.

Nope, not pre-sa ..... and I do have a Legendary Imbuer.

From everything that I have seen so far I am able to get Higher Resists by using a Verite Runic Hammer on the crafted Verite Mempo than I am able to get by crafting a Verite Mempo and then imbuing it.

When I imbue, the resists go on top of the "base" resists for that piece ... for a Verite Mempo the base resists are 5/3/2/3/2 .... it is NOT added on top of the base PLUS the bonus for using Verite NOR the bonus for Exceptional (which is 20 random resist points if I am a GM Arms Lore) .... so if I imbue to the MAX the most I can achieve in each resist is

    Physical 20 (5+15)
    Fire 18 (3+15)
    Cold 17 (2+15)
    Poison 18 (3+15)
    Energy 17 (2+15)

When I go the Runic Hammer route ....

I start with the base resists for Plate ... which like I said was 5/3/2/3/2. I then add on a materials bonus for Verite ... which is 3/3/2/3/1 ... so now I am up to 8/6/4/6/3. Then I add on a bonus for Exceptional ... since I am using a runic the bonus is 11 randomly distributed resist points. Those points can get distributed on anyway on any of the 5 resists.

Just as an example, to make things simple, the points get distributed across all five resists ... and well throw the extra one on Energy ... so now my resists are 10/8/6/8/6 ...

Now comes the Runic Bonus .... from what I have read (and I'm still playing around to see how things work) the Runic Bonus does not get added onto the Base Resist but on top of all of those other resists .... and it sure looks like that so far.

The range of any resist is 1-15 .... so in the case of a Verite Runic Hammer anytime it applies a resist bonus it will be between 70% of 15 and 100% of 15 or somewhere between 10.5 and 15 .... it also applies at least 4 properties and maybe 5. Those properties MAY end up not even being resists but lets say 3 of the 5 go to resists ... that means 3 of the resists could have a minimum of 10 points applied or as much as 15 .... that could easily drive resists to this ...

    Physical ... 20-25
    Fire ... 18-23
    Cold ... 16-21
    Posion ... 18-23
    Energy ... 16-21

If you hit ALL RESISTS (or even 4 out of 5) you end up with one SUPER Piece of Arnor

So why am I going through all that trouble ... hopefully to squeeze out those extra resist points that I couldn't get using imbuing.

Another side reason is the fact that if I DON'T imbue, once I get that "kick ass" piece, I can always repair it (and if need be use POF)

Anyway ..... that, and the fact that I "like to experient" are the reasons that I am going through all that trouble.

But hey .... that's only my opinion .... your mileage may vary.

Oh yeah .... The Downside is that it ain't CHEAP ....

All i can tell you is your resists on the runic are wrong...you can go MUCH higher!!!

I am certain i have a piece lying around with well over 100total resist and MR2

I'm sure you're correct .... I was probably figuring on the low end ... and even at that imbuing can't match the resists.

I DO have to say this though .... IMHO .... after burning a Verite Runic Hammer last night trying this out I think the best thing to do is to buy a piece that's already got what you want. I personally don't feel like running another vendor to recover the cost of creating that one piece that I want ... been there, done that, got the T Shirt .... all I want to do now is fiddle with building and playing characters. I'm SURE that I'll never be as good as the "Heavies" cause I'm just not as dedicated to it as them .... But Hey ... I'm having fun ... and last time I looked, that's enough for me.

    Conner,

With mace & shield, assassin armor set, and magic reflect on

Physical resist should be at 56....

with your gorget Verite Mempo- SI 7, LMC 8, 10/24/21/7/19

physical should be at 66.... how are you getting 70 physical resist?

  21. I'm well over 70 physical. Magic Reflection is -25 physical. Are you taking into account the bonus to resists that you get when you have a complete suit?

    With full set,

its 14 physical res per assassin armor piece

    so its 56 physical res

then mace and shield is 25 physical which cancel out with magic reflect's -25

so not counting gorget, ring and bracelet slots, physical res is at 56 ....

Also how much int and stam are you running?

  23. 20/40 Int/Mana

    150/165 Dex/Stam

So how are you getting 70 physical? resist?

no matter how I look at it, it should be 66...

  25. To be honest, I never much thought about it. The suit worked out to 70 physical so I just rolled with it. After all, why question it if it's working?

This is the suit with each piece added-

-20 Base naked w/Magic Reflection cast

    36- Full Assassin Armor set

    46- With mempo

70- With Mace & Shield Glasses.

hmm magic reflect should be -25?

or are you using soulstone to move inscription to get the -20 magic reflect?

  27. Nope, no inscription.

Yeah your physical should be 66, not 70... Hax.

  29. Get this, my tamer has an extra 5 physical on her too. No idea why.
