Cu Sidhe should be blue due to slaying them causes karma lose,

I have noticed that they are grey. All creatures big and small that you attack that are blue you lose karma. For some reason they lack this flag.

This becomes an issue when I noticed that the Cu Sidhe DO attack evil karma charactors & the ones near the karma line do NOT attack the changlings, as do the Dryads and Pixies, ( Unicorns and Kirins if released.) As a result of them attacking ME on some chars I then lose more karma and the creature in question is not even blue..

While we are talking about Karma relations the line of good -evil seems to be blurry to paragons. If you are at the very edge on the good side still and RUN near a paragon they attack... If this creature is a evil paragon then they attack you anyway. But with the Cu Sidhe being grey (non blue) + Paragon and run by they too attack.. Pixies and Dryads Uni's Kirins. If you are on the line of the Karma bug and DEFEND yourself from them, you are then pushed over the line.

  2. This is also true of Grobu. Actually, he is gray, attacks no matter what karma is, and if you kill him, you lose karma.

I had forgot about the Serptine Dragon is the same. Kill it and lose karma but it's not blue ,run by while it's paragon and it attacks if close to the karma line.
They few need to be corrected.

  4. the guardians in the final level of the oaks spawn as well as the wisps in the second level are also grey and you lose karma to kill them.

Have you ever killed a wild horse they are grey and give a karma loss as well. Been that way ever since I started playing almost 9 years ago.

Horses, cats & dogs are grey and cause karma loss as well, so...

  7. It seems that there is a theme where animals which are perceived as being pet-like give you karma loss if you kill them. Doggies, kitties, horses... bad karma to be killing them, even when they spawn as grey. Cu sidhes might count as doggies here? The cranes in Tokuno also give you karma loss, I believe.

The color coding right now has pets which are TAMED and owned by a blue being highlighted in the blue color. There's an expectation that when an animal is colored blue, it's got an owner, and that owner's notoriety is blue. Within the existing system they would not want to take a wild horse and make it highlight blue, even if they want you to have karma loss for killing one. Certain tamed pets would look deceptively like wild animals.

It's only a superficial issue in Tram, but it's a big deal in Fel.

I agree that it would be nice to know before you kill something if you'll get karma loss, but at least losing karma one time for each type of animal isn't catastrophic to the involved char.

I agree, and I beleive that it is stated somewhere in the play guide regarding horses, dogs and cats. Probably needs to be updated regarding cu sidhe's. Non tamables that cause karma loss like the serpentine dragon however should highlight blue IMO.

I think all inherently non hostile (neutral) creatures should have their tag in gray, then turn red to you when you attack them (and they become hostile to you). If you are negative karma and they would auto attack you then they should appear red to your char, and gray to positive karma folks. Any inherently hostile creatures which will attack indiscriminately, should appear red all the time. Such a system would solve a lot of confusion probably.

Except when murderers start naming their characters after the less dangerous 'red' creatures so they can sneak up on you - especially if they assume that creature's appearance.

You: "Erk! Red name?! Oh; it's only a troll. Hahah."

Yup - it needs to be restricted to non-tamables.

From the play-guide: "Attacking gray creatures may or may not have an effect on your Karma."

However, if you look at the incomplete listing of monsters/animals in the play-guide - anything with a karma level greater than 0 is going to give you karma loss.

    rtl..etc

I fail to see what difference it makes as to what color something is in a trammel facet.
Don't want to lose karma? Well after your first one and you see the "you have lost a lot of karma" message I guess you'd learn your lesson eh?
What's happened to exploration and learning by doing? Must everything be spelled out for us nowadays?

I saw a red last week named Tom the Brigand. Thought about paging, because I"m pretty sure it's a No No, but then I thought, how cool would it be to have 4 reds named "the Brigand", and a blue friend with a basic NPC name, out in the woods waiting for a passerby to assist the prisoner....too cruel.

Haha, yeah that'd be funny [IMG]

I used to dress up as an NPC bride with my thief hoping someone would try escorting her, to then get robbed en route, back in the days when folks ran through town shouting "destination" heh. Didn't get any good offers though *sniff*

  15. [IMG] So ... cu sidhe should be "blue" eh?

    well ... okay ... finish out the linky/listing ....
    those that should be "blue"
    those that should be "red"
    those that should remain "grey"

Factor out the "tame/idle" color's for when "owned" by a player
Extract/post the Tame-agroed/attacked colors whether the tame/tamer "attacked or agroed first"
factor in the colors of notoriety of the agro attacked pairings ...

compile the list for peer reveiw ...(error checking)

then we'll go from there ...

The info on creatures is outdated and in need of a overhaul. If you look even the Slayer Weapon Vulnerability: Unknown is wrong . They are now vulnerable to the Fey Slayer Pixie Swatter. Not the best resouce to use at the moment.
