Damage Eater

    Actually the Shard of the Deads seems to use the new loot system, and I got lot of items with Damage Eater 21%.

    The point is: Damage Eater cap is 18%, so why we have items with 21%? :D

    There have been alot of items spawn on test and origin that surpassed their original caps, so I'm guessing maybe they raised the caps on alot of properties.

    not the ITEM cap but the total cap that a character could reach....

    I didn't notice any other mod that goes over the cap in just 1 item...

    This is a good point made by pinco, it's sloppy programming.

    Changing a cap is not exactly something that can be discovered, especially for mods like this :/

    These new items would not be the first items to surpass the caps. There is the Orc Chieftain helm with 30 HP increase, and the Berserkers maul with 75 SSI, both still attainable in game and both past the hard caps in the game. :(

    There is a hard cap on SSI?

    Or a server cap on how fast you can actually swing?

    Or is there a difference?

    Interesting stuff regardless..

    Actually get higher bonus for SSI and HPI have sense since there are spells able to reduce that mods (like for DCI), but there is nothing that lower Damage Eater, so what's the point? :D

    Good question. Maybe they just followed the same policy as for the berserker maul. Since they use character caps, there is no need to complicate the loot system.

    And if you think about it, if the Damage eater property gets popular, they may find something lowering it. In that case they wouldn't need to go dig in the loot code to remove items hard caps.

    This is true, however these item were bought into the game prior to the caps being introduced, and the lazy team never got around to changing them. Lazy programming, not sloppy programming for these items.
