So how about making it so you can sell your skills on a contract, a bit alike repair deeds, but with charges.

So lets say an imbuer wants to offer their services, but can't be around when the clients need it. Then for a price of X ressources, they can create a Service Contract for X Charges of use of their skill.

So lets say I am a legendary Imbuer, then I could make a Service Contract for 20 uses for X ressources and it would allow the buyer to use the Service Contract 20 times as if their character had legendary imbuing.

This could be useful for all kinds of crafting skills or even combinations of crafting skills (for combo items)

Of course the contract only provides the skill, the person would have to provide the bonus like talismans, ASH, Queens Forge, race bonus, etc.

How about instead of trying to remove more interaction from the game, we do something a bit more in line with the community game that UO started out as, and remove all of the vendors. Make people actually interact with each other to sell their wares instead of this silly vendor farm.

how about a global countdown that when it arrive to 0 blow up a random character? :D

if they remove the vendors you will only see a continuous spam into the help channel of the chat... so NO THANKS :p

The imbuing contract is a bad idea... Reach 120 imbuing is expensive and took lots of time, if there are contracts around, only 1 imbuer for shard is needed and everyone else have the skill for free...

Actually everyone can make one, so take the magic residue and start to burn down items :p

How exactly is it an interaction game now?!? Neither me, nor any crafter I know have any contact with anyone else to help them craft and when you need someone yourself, noone's around or everyone is busy.

It wouldn't just be one imbuer, since the contract would cost to make and cost to buy, people would either create their own for things to be cheaper or find ways to underbid eachother.

Perhaps the ingredient needed would be something that was farmed like imbuing ingredients, so there'd only be a finite amount of contracts, but it would be a great help for those who'd want their services to matter and people needed help.

Have been offering my services for quite a long time in global chat (120 imbue, garg + gueens forge), yet noones interested at the times I am on.

Three people worked up one char? What do you mean a while ago, you just came back?

My imbuer is at 64, human, just smelting loot.

Having Imbueing Contracts would be a good idea because it's so expensive to train an Imbuer to 120. It would give everyone access to imbueings benefits. The price of the contract would, of course, be a *lot* of gold. The maker of the contract would have to cover the cost of the materials used in the contract and add in a satisfactory profit.

Many in this game have so much gold they can't realize that many Players don't have the millions in gold and/or the hours required to make their own Imbuer. Imbueing Contracts would solve this problem.

I'm not in favour of this idea. At all.
We'll keep people's personal, real lives out of it please?

The idea of a MMORPG being to actually interact with other people (online, not in the house).

    True.

With repair contracts and vendors (or the abortion called "Luna"), when do you actually see anyone stood at Brit Forge? Or WBB, or Moonglow, or Yew, or Skara...

Create more "contracts", you create even less reason to interact.

If you want to be able to use a skill, train it. If you want something made by someone who has trained the skill, arrange it in chat, ask on the boards or if you're in a guild, ask the guild's crafters.
Personal opinion: you shouldn't be able to 'buy' skill. I strongly disagree with 'advanced characters' too, before you ask.

It's actually little different from the idea of buying magery, necro, or mysticism scrolls to do something you personally have little skill for. How about doing the contracts such that the magic contained in them boosts the skill of a less than 120 skill Imbuer up towards that limit? Say it adds 20 or 30 points of skill and the Imbueing Scroll user has to provide the items needed to cast the Imbueing spell he wants to do. This would let those who are working the skill as their gold & playtime permits have more use of it.

10 years ago I'd have had to spend a couple years getting my Imbuer to Legendary due to the limited playtime I had. I'm talking 'most' of my playtime gathering the gold & doing the repetitions required.

I think that I would rather see a PC issued Bulk Order Deed type system.

The Orders would be placed and retrieved from centralised locations.

The amount to pay the filler of the order would be made when the order is placed, and held until the order had been fulfilled.

When a filler chooses to fill an order, they would accept the order, then that order could only be filled by one person within a predetermined time (A day? An hour? 30 minutes? Same accross the board? Different for each order?). Either the order could be locked on the orders board or a deed could be given out to be filled similarly to BODs, but with a count down timer. The Deed format could allow transfer of the order to another player. E.g. a battle char could accept the order and transfer it to their crafter.

When an order is not filled within the alloted time, it reappears on the list of orders to be filled.

When a filler has filled an order, by returning the required items to the centralized location, the payment would then be available to the filler (directly into the bank or make the filler transfer it manually?).

Of course, a similar system would need to take precausions against exploitations...

This is the dumbest idea ever! Really? We already have a way to buy skill..its called SoT's. The rich dont need an even easier way to buy their skill so they can spend there time farming Medusa/naver/etc etc.

And no you dont have to be rich to build imbuing. I raise my skill 3pts daily. I know its not alot but its effortless. I simply take my dexxer hunting, saving all the loot i get, make a quick trip home to drop it off every now and then, grab a new bag. At the end of the night, i simply unravel container on every loot bag. Voila! 30 gains a day (3.0pts) on average. All by doing virtually nothing to raise it.

(Bout to get :gee: by someone for saying this) :bs: Stop your whining, grow a pair, and get your hands dirty. Nothing is impossible in this game, it is all doable.

I'd much prefer it if 2 more boxes were added to the trade window, where either person could "interact" with the item in the trade window. So you could throw something up in a trade window, an a blacksmith could repair it. The item in the trade window would have a string of text on it that would identify what is happening to it (ie. Blacksmith Jon is attempting to repair this), and you would "accept" what he is doing. When you accept it, the action is done but the trade window does not close. Items in these boxes also do not trade when in the middle of a trade. This is kind of like WoW's trade system, but let's face it, it works.

Given that the Player has the hours of Playtime to do it your way.

I trained my Imbuer the hard way, by Imbueing for the most part. More work, more tedious hours, a few million in gold. :)

Speaking of vendors....I can see 60,000 of these on a Luna vendor.

I, for one, am all for eliminating vendors completely. This way, the scripters will have to try and sell 60k in items, live. Sorry, seeing that much on vendors, religiously, is too questionable. Why do I question it, because I can.

I do like the concept, though I do miss seeing a dozen guys sitting at the forges, like the old days, in Haven, back when Haven was cool. Luna....no, Luna's a mall with teenage kids.

Good idea, I don't see it happening.
