Dex, stamina, SSI and my headache

I've spent the better part of yesterday (and a small fortune) crafting some new armor pieces - I planned to swap my Heart of the Lion with the Fey Leggings, so that I could have DCI on one piece of jewelry instead of having to use both.
After a while, though, I realized that jewelry only allows +dex, and that dex is capped at 150, which means that I have no way of reaching 180 stam if using M&S and Fey Leggings, since I don't have a Crimmy.
So, I was wondering if using a +5 SSI turquoise ring AND keeping my Stam at 165 would have the same effect (that's what I'm assuming, but maybe I'm wrong), or if I'm better off using those property slots for something else.
    Before I forget: I'm using a sampire.

+5 SSI does not much alone, perhaps stack a bit of additional dci and take the additional +10 SSI from Divine Fury into account.

If you can get imbued pieces, you might want to give the M&S glasses with 5 imbued leather pieces a try. I was able to relatively easily make a 70-95-69-70-70, 40 LMC, 6 MR, +40 stam, +7 MI, +10 Str, +5 dex, 30 HLD 6 piece suit using 5 imbued pieces plus the mace and shields. Add imbued jewels for 30 HCI/DCI, 40 DI, +16 Dex + some other prop (I use strength).

Added to my 125 base dex, this gives 186 stamina. Since I have a crimmie, this caps my dex to 150 so my current stamina with this setup is 190. Also get additional DCI from robe and quiver. Plus can add more on weapon if needed.

190 stamina works very well since I don't need any ssi for the fast weapons and still swing at cap. What is really nice is that I can now use the harder hitting slower weapons imbued with 30 ssi and still swing at the cap. Besides increasing DPS, this allows use of a wider variety of special moves. I think you are right to want >180 stamina. Don't worry too much about losing the DCI from fey legs or heart of the lion, the increased weapon choices and dps make up for it. Plus you can always cap DCI by putting it on a weapon that you don't need ssi for if you have > 180 stam.

If you have time, could you post the resists you have on each leather piece?
Just trying to get some new ideas...

Sure, this is what I have:

    mace/shields	25	10	10	10	10	65
    gorg 9	17	11	17	8	62
    chest 8	17	8	7	17	57
    sleeves 17	17	9	11	17	71
    legs 5	17	17	9	11	59
    gloves 6	17	14	16	7	60
    		70.0	95.0	69.0	70.0	70.0	374
The 16 and 17's are imbues. So 11 total imbues overall. Ideally I'd want the resists I'm going to imbue to be 2/4/3/3/3 for leather. This is hard to do so I settle for less than "perfect" imbues. I.e., some exceptional bonus resists are "wasted".

I also didn't take the time to try to corpse skin proof it, tho I am sure it could be done with better planning on my part to start.

Wow thanks! reading your two previous posts, I'm about to junk my 10s of millions suit and imbue the whole suit myself.... I'm gonna give something like this a shot and see how I like it.

I finally took the plunge and proceeded to imbue suit & jewels (with some differences due to a previous, imbued&enhanced attempt), and decided to try my luck against my usual mobs, and the result was actually rather impressive.
The clearest improvement was against heavy hitters - since I used the extra mods to increase my hit points, I now have 128 HP, and this allows me to survive two consecutive para balron hits (unless I'm also being repeatedly mana drained and paralyzed at the same time, which is why I died to the second para balron).
Also, this allows me to use an Ornate Axe with 30SSI and have a 1.50 swing speed - which is about 15% more DPS, which means that Dread Horn died in a little more than 10 minutes (and that is good).

May I ask why you went so crazy on fire resist? Was that on purpose or just how things worked out with the 5 possible imbues?

You need 95 to offset Vampiric Embrace's -25 to fire resist, if you want to end up with all 70s.

I'm an idiot! I knew that. That's what I get for posting half asleep.

What you think of this suit. I been working om my sammy and came up with this.

    74 97 76 70 70
    Damage 80% (100%) weapon
    Defence 51%
    Dex +15
    Str +11
    Hit chance 22%
    Hitpoits increase 16
    HitP Reg 6
    Mana Reg 5
    Mana Increase 22
    Stamina Inc 5
    Lower mana 15%
    Enahcne pots 20%
  12. You need more Dex. You should max it at 150, and also try to add as much SI as you can.

Whew! For once I'm happy that I didn't have much time to play this weekend.
My next agenda was imbuing that leather suit, now with the new changes
looks like I'll be able to imbue 'some' of my artifacts and imbue the rest out of
    spined/horned hides...

waiting would be a good idea and keep in mind nothing is in stone yet so there could still be more changes
