    Hi guys

I'm coming back after 5 years (I started to play before the meditation skills and I quit in 2004). I made few search but a lot of website is not uptodate and I don't know what is no longer apply.

I would like to know if I can play a dexter/ poisoner and got good result in PVP.

    100 fencing
    100 tactics
    100 anatomy
    100 healing
    100 resist
    80 poisonning
    40 magery (for recall)
With the remainning skill point (cap 700) should I use one of the new skill or I should use 120 skill point scroll for fencing/tactics/resist/anatomy ?

If you think i'm out of the track, please told me :D

    Thank you

Well, a couple quick comments. Everyone pots these days, so though you still find nox dexxers, they are rare, as a greater cure heals things quite nicely. I would certainly take my weapon skill to 120...115 if you can't afford the scroll. Anything less just isn't worth it. Either drop resist and run with a box or take it to 120. I'd also drop magery for Chivalry...probably 65-70 points in it. JMO.

    hi

    thanks for your reply

I know everyone is going to have potions but with the speed of the kryss I think I can "distract" opponents.

What is the typical PvP dexter ?

I would agree with much of what Aibal stated. I am not sure what you have aligned for gear, BUT it doesn't matter how fast your kryss is. You won't be distracting anyone.

Unless you blend in spells and/or good weaponry with some nice combos, the poisoning thing is kind of pointless.

I ran a nox dexxer some years ago before the potions became popular. Killed about anybody. Now with pots I blend in spells to my moves. Necro too...not magery. Drop the magery idea.

Resist again...either you go zero OR you go 120. Some will say 115, but whatever. You can still get paralyzed for half a second, and that is enough time to get rocked.

Weapon skill same thing. To even THINK about being competitive, you NEED 120. You might get by with 115, but your results will be iffy to so-so in my book.

Healing and anatomy...your choice with what you're comfortable with. At least go 90 and 90.

Tactics you need at least 70 for primary weapon skills, but you SHOULD go at least 90 in order to execute the secondary specials.

Magery I would do what Aibal said and swap that for chivalry. I really won't advise a number. The bare minimum you should have is around 55. You will have to think about what focus you want to have or what your guild does.

80 Poisoning is fine...personally I would do something else. If they fix the issue with pots then yeah I would keep poisoning on there.

I won't go into my template, but if you run necro you will want regs or run LRC. LRC with a dexxer template will be extremely tough to make a good one. You could add bushido, you could have higher chivalry. It all depends on your style and tactics.

I don't know what your style is, but good poisoning is finishing the opponent off with it. You lace your moves with other combos so that by the time the enemy goes to cure it...they die from it.

Or you set them up with one move and finish them with another. Consequently, while a kryss is nice you'll want another weapon or two for your arsenal.

Me personally, I pack 4 weapons. I sometimes carry a bow too just so people think I'm an archer. lol

    thanks Diomedes

I don't think I will use chivalry because it related to karma and I don't think I will ever have a good one.

    max fencing, ok
but max tactics was a no brainer before ! I just need 90 for the secondary skills now ?

bushido, Should I put a lot of point in this one ? Honorable Execution is nice but more point is worthless ?

No magery, how i'm suposed to travel ?

No problem. Okay so to answer your questions...in the order received.

    1. Who says you have to have positive karma to use/have chivalry? If you were relying on it, then yes. But, well...look at the last answer, #6.

    2. Max weapon skill...yes. Problem solved.

    3. Max tactics was a no-brainer before? Maybe for some people, but for me I ran with even less to be honest. It used to not be required for executing weapon skills. Before, only the weapon skill mattered.

Oh..and yes, almost forgot. "Only" need 90 tactics. Your choice and how you have your template setup whether you want more.

    4. There will be varying opinions here, but if you are...key word here, actually going to make bushido a part of your template, then at least GM it. With GM you get a 13% chance to land a critical hit. Legendary nets you 20% chance.

    5. Honorable execution...PvP? No. You won't be killing anyone with one blow...cased closed. Good only for PvM, and even then "lolz."

Confidence is used in PvP and lightning strike. You could use counter attack, but once again "lolz." Excuse the funny youthism so to speak but counter attack you would have to "know" that you were going to block the next swing made by another player.

    6. Okays...remember the question, "How am I going to get around?" AH HA...yes! That's it! Chivalry. You use sacred journey to get around.

    OR

Use wraith form, which then of course...yes, would mean using necro on your template.

    OR

Use recall scrolls. Which means having a book loaded with them, AND having some in your bank box or somewhere where you can throw them in...quick.

I had to stone poisoning on my guy due to everyone running around with 1 handed weapons chugging. Before I was just a lame dexxer but I would chew people here and there but not anymore. Add in -mage weapons plus loads of defense chance and it makes it hard to be a loan dexxer. GL in your quest though.

  8. How much does Counter Attack cost?

Can you not keep it running all the time?

Counter attack you need 40 bushido in order to execute the move. It costs only 5 mana, but the move will only last a few seconds. It does not continuously run like a toggle-type move.

    Hi

Thanks for the reply guys !

I just realize resist is not working like before
I think I can take something else

    120 bushido
    120 fencing
    90 tactics
    90 anatomy
    90 healing
    80 poison
I have 90 points left with this template
How much chiv is enough to recall (the journey whatever spell) ?

then should I take another skill (parrying ?) or boost tactics/anatomy/healing ?

I feel like i'm playing a new game based on uo at the moment

It should last long enough to be usable tho, only thing of course is you can not use it with any other "stance" such as confidence or evasion.

Sure. It was just to alert said person to the fact that it is not like a toggle move, where I turn the move on and let it do its thing continuously. A few seconds yes...is good in the right situation. I hardly use it though to be honest. Against monster's counter attack is fun for kicks and giggles, but against player opponents it can be quite difficult to get off...do to the random probability of what some players may do.

Counterattack is actually pretty handy against archers in PvP.

Many times they won't stop moving, so you can prep counter attack and toggle on a para blow. If they get stuck and shoot you, or if they just keep spamming moving shot and you parry they are standing still long enough for you to dismount.

IMO - the Bush/Parry dexer serves one real purpose in the field - to disrupt, dismount and be a ridiculously hard to kill meat shield.
