Figure I would see if anyone else has done it since the necro patch

Its a small tweak from the old trav solo method

It is quite a bit harder than pre necro patch but its about the challenge hehe

So far I am able to do it about 30% of the time and it pretty much due to not having the right weapon.

    Template
    120 parry
    120 bushido
    120 swords
    100 tactics
    100 anatomy
    40 necro
    50 spirit speak
    70 chiv

Suit 70 70 70 70 75 need 40+ dci and as much lmc and hci as possible

    Shield high hci and dci

Weapon: HML HSL Hit Area Hit lower attack DI (one handed only)
Swing speed must be 2.25 to 2.5

    How:
Main reason for low necro and SS is so trav don't copy either

Must have fast one hand weapon with hit area to keep mirror image down
Must use shield so you can actually hit trav
Must have suit at max res and have protection spell on
Must use the undead talisman from event (25% boost to damage)

Honor, EOO, then go to town
Make sure to cast cursed weapon at around 50% health

    Weapon analysis:
Hit lower attack because Trav hurts more now that you are not mounted on swampy
    HSL to keep max swing
HML helps with getting mana back but should not have an issue most of the time
DI need as much damage as possible since using a fast swing one hander

Dream weapon: only possible with val hammer
    Radiant scimitar
    HML
    HSL
    HLA
    Hit Area
    Undead
    DI

Samurai's don't use shields, they parry with their weapons. If you use a shield with 120 parry and bushido, i think your chances to parry goes down to something like 5%, but with a two handed weapon its something around 30%, not sure on those numbers, but its better with weapons.

I thought you hit with your weapon, and defended yourself with shields?

The undead slayer talisman from the event, Conjurer's Trinket, has 20% DI, same as the A Primer on Arms Damage Removal from the library. But it has an added 10 HCI to help you hit what your attacking.

Just a little note, if you used mace fighting instead of swordsmanship, you could use a Silver-Etched Mace, which comes with undead slayer automatically, and its stacks with other mods from runics, so you could have thise dream weapon

    Silver-Etched Mace
    HML
    HSL
    HLA
    Hit Area
    SSI
    Undead
    DI

For Travesty, a samurai needs to use the shield.

Travesty copies your skills and equipment, so if she copies a samurai who doesn't use a shield, she has a 35-40% parry chance rather than the 5% parry chance from a samurai who uses a shield. This doesn't make her impossible to kill, but it does add 30% or more to the time it takes to kill her, and increases the risk by a LOT when the side spawn shows up (you miss her at that point, you get more spawn).

The original post has the solo-Travesty exactly right. I can't think of a way to improve that template, tactics or equipment for Travesty.

  4. Only thing ill say...its doesnt matter how much necro/ss you have, if you have it shell have it at 120 or above!!!

Imagine our surprise when trav started discording, asked the group(3of us) whos got disco...to which one replied..."I've got 5, it hasnt finished dropping yet." that 5 was enough for travesty to discord...EVERYTHING, GD's Beetle/bake, us and ev's!!

So...if your gna go necro/ss might as well go full flog!

Edit: why the need for undead slayer?...travesety is fey in form, and im 90%sure the slayer doesnt work if she takes your form

With this template you can kill Trav in 20-25 minutes easy and you don't need to get arcane focus

It was verified by Dev that Trav don't copy skill if its 50 or lower, plus I have never seen trav cast and necro spell or ss

The reason for undead slayer is you get extra 25% damage from undead slayer because when Trav copies you, it also copies wraith form so it takes extra damage from undead slayer!

  8. I don't know about the SS, but I can guarantee that Travesty can, will, and has cast Necro spells, even without SS. My Sampire can testify to that after a few attempts at soloing after the nerf while in Vamp form.

  9. No need for a focus...and its about the same time, sometimes quicker depending on RNG. Also...ALOT easier!!

Didnt know that below 50 she doesnt copy skills...that must have been changed after i made sure every person i ever took had 0.0 in disco!

Also didnt think that when she took your form she was succeptable to the slayer.

I'd imagine it's just like with Baracoon... once he turns into a rat, vermin tali takes into effect.

So if you were using Conj. Trinket + Undead weapon there wouldn't be a need for EoO? Seeing as how you should already be at capped DI at that point in time...

  11. Aye i suppose that makes sense, ive never done it with a warrior...always use a tamer.

Don't cut my response in half hehe

I said: It was verified by Dev that Trav don't copy skill if its 50 or lower, plus I have never seen trav cast and necro spell or ss

By that I mean I never seen it cast ss or necro spell when my skill is 50 or below

your sampire has over 50 necro of course trav is going to cast necro spells.

  13. The way you said it, it seemed as if you were making 2 different statements, which is why I responded as I did.

  14. I am working up this temp as we speak and will give it a go soon....any other tips for using a whammy? I have been playing a sampire but never have ran a whammy so i could use some methods. human or elf?

  15. when trav turns into you does she copy your resists?
also would holy light from chiv work like aoe from wep?

From previous kills, the damage to Trav are not consistant each time while my resists are the same. So from that I can say Trav does not copy resist.

You would not want to use holy light as a substitute because it takes time to cast and you need to be swinging your weapon to leech life/mana/stam back.

If you want extra way to kill mirror images, you would want a radiant scimitar along with hit area effect because trav will copy wirlwind attack and when trav use the special it will kill mirror images as well

You take more damage as a whammy so you would want to beef up your hp. Since you will be leeching mana, natural mana regen bonus from jack of all trade is not really important. Being Elf would make it easier for you to make a good suit.

The main problem with whammy is keeping up with karma lost. The best way to keep mana up is kill high karma monsters without casting cursed weapon. Make sure you honor stuff you kill so you get life back when it dies and make use of confidence to regain life.

  17. Ha! You read my mind about the karma. That was next on my list get my sacrifice and karma up killing daemons or succubi if I can. Thanks for the reply. I may be back with more questions after i give trav a solo attempt soon.

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I'm curious if travesty does 25% more damage to you if you use an undead slayer or the conjurer's trinket.

  19. I believe that has been previously confirmed as a yes.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess I'll give it a try and see if using an undead slayer in wraith form is worth it then. I can always swap out talismans or even pop out of wraith form if needed.

  21. You'd be better off swapping talismans. If you pop out of wraith form it may have some unintended consequences.
