I had not done a Heartwood quest in years and decided to travel there with a beetle full of boards last night to see what kind of talismans I might get making a few footstools. I didn’t get any decent talismans in the short time I was there, but on the third batch of 10 footstools, I saw a little green object in the carpenter’s backpack that you get as a reward. Behold, a heartwood dovetail runic saw. On the fifth batch, I got an oak runic saw. Are these saws still as rare as they used to be? Did I actually get lucky for once? It’s funny, we complain about the tasks that rely totally on luck as mindless wastes of time, but when we happen to hit the jackpot, we feel like we’ve mastered the universe. Do you think maybe this is why the developers keep these silly little slot machine tasks in the game?

They aren't really worth a whole heck of a lot..which is surprising seeing as you can make some AWESOME woodland suits :/

Indeed, said the rat, like the old Vegas slot machines. Might and Magic 7 had this little luck-based subgame called Arcomage that I spent hours playing.

Yes sweety you hit the jackpot of the night.
Not always do they pop off like that. I sat for 3 days for 3 to 4 hour stints and got a woppling goose egg...
And there are days I go in and get very nice tali's
grats on your luck my dear

It weas the first few weeks after heartwoods opening day that the quest had worthy loot. Some really impressive weapons and armor was gotten also the first few weeks. Non the tally I have on my mules today was not earned those first feww weeks. Bandage summoning and choice slayers have been the only keepers for years. But what reward would be expected after making stools or flower garlands. The sad part of the story is the tally lameness carries over as boss loot also.

If you did it on Atlantic you probably have the attended bot/scripter to thank for increasing the odds that someone there doing the quests will get a runic drop.

This attended scripter is also at the same time doing the fletching runic quest on another account, mining on a third account and lumberjacking? on a fourth account (the fletching bot used to do the lumberjacking script, so I assume a new account is now botting wood for him).

These are just his attended bot accounts I know of from looking for idocs and seeing his four chars recalling in and out to his house steps to drop his ore/lumber. (Two of his house signs now read: Sorry, Ceska, we've moved, you won't be able to find us now.) Which is silly because if you are script mining/lumberjacking from your house steps idocers pass see you doing it every four days and of course I've found his drop house twice now.

He once called a GM on me for standing in the grass outside his second drop house, and the GM came and told us we needed to try to get along. Silly cheater thought he owned every tile in UO but doesn't own the tiles around his house.

I was in Heartwood GMing fletching on a spare account and got my first Heartwood fletching runic ever. Afterwards the attended scripter moved, as in, before his char would hop on his beetle to go get more wood, then script it's way back to the exact spot it was scripting from before, even if someone else was sitting there, the script would park his char right on top of them.

After I got the Heartwood fletching runic however, his char left and came back and sat nearer to where I was.

Could it be his script was attempting to grab the Heartwood fletching runic from my pack?

Anyone on Atlantic looking for carpenter recipes head to Heartwood Tram in the evening/overnight hours and check the backpacks at this attended scripters char's feet. This way at least a couple other people can benefit from this person's enormous greediness.

Also a good time to be there questing for runic saws and fletching I'd think, since the more quests being done, the more runics should drop.

I must say this is the smartest scripter I've ever run across. Of course the only way to prove he is scripting, since he is attended, is for four GMs to pull his four characters at the same time and see if they can speak AT THE SAME TIME.

EA couldn't do it, Mythic couldn't do it, I really doubt Broadsword will be any different.

But I'd love to see them try.

    :)

This is all correct. This particular scripter is at Heartwood running a script with his packy for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. He's been doing it for months. It really is a bit of a joke that something has not been done as it is really obvious what he is doing. He's been reported many times.

Also one of the reasons why the whole economy is ruined in this game. I recently came back and am finding it so difficult to make enough money to afford even a new suit of armour. Is selling gold and macroing not illegal in this game now? Tried to talk to a few people at the bank but got no reply - have now realised that they were running some kind of script to make them cast spells over and over and that is the reason why they didn't reply. I guess it's just part of the game now.

Broadsword peoples gotta eat, I assume that's why this guy is still around raping and pillaging what's left of UO, excuse my French.

Gosh knows Broadsword can't afford to lose 4 paying accounts this late in the game, no matter what the rules say, no matter they themselves say (I recall someone posting here or on UOForums that they multiboxed and killed people in Fel using all their own accounts and 1 ring to bind them, I mean one key to control them, and a certain devess issuing a Proclamation that MULTIBOXING IS ILLEGAL.)

    Yep.

Well it's not the first time the cheaters have been smarter than the UO Team, it won't be the last.

At least they're good for a laugh. The cheater's bots I mean, not the devs.

Saw them last night hop on their beetles and head for a refill of resources and get stopped dead in their tracks by bagballs...For five whole minutes... Well the one was walking back and forth back and forth over the same three tiles.

Look slobberknocker, cheaters in UO are good for something!

I will have to disagree that that they need to eat irl.

Selling gold has never been illegal in UO, advertising websites that do so IS illegal ingame. Yeah people still do it. We have to page on them.

Once they get paged on 3 times or maybe 4 they should get banned, then, go find their house and 90 days later it should fall down and you can get their stuff.
