I wonder if this template would make sense

    120 swords
    120 bushido
    120 chivalry
    105 (120) music
    105 (120) disco
    60 parry
    90 tactics

As far as i know resistances of the enemy would be lowered by 28. so double axe damage (double strike) would get a very nice dmg boost (with df)

Next enemy hits less often and does less dmg, i would hit enemy more often

Drawback: no anatomy, no resist and just 90 tactics

What do you think or has anyone tried this already?

I think it could work. As a melee char you haven't any problems with crowds of weak mobs. And disco is very handy vs one big boss or few heavy hitting mobs.
It seems better to have 120 real music/disco so you could get additional damage from a mastery. Although I am not sure you will be able to unkeep it while are using special move on every hit.

    off topic:
Why don't you use JOAT spellweaving?

11 hp every 2 seconds for 90 seconds - would be handy, especially when you don't swing for some reasons (stunned or running away)

level 6 arcane power durability is 6 hours, although it isn't easy to get level 6 (need four other people - and it doesn't matter have they spellweaving or not. If you have 2 accounts you always can get lvl 3.

    Discordance goes up very slow.

I think you needn't worry about masteries. Masteries damage is too low compared with damage from special moves. And without anatomy you must be need all mana for DS.

I have read that disco effect is halved vs monsters with max (160) bard difficulty (big bosses, greater dragons, paragon dragons).

Your chance to disco a high end mob is 30% with a slayer instrument and 20% with exceptional one. Whith 105 music your chances are 15% and 5%. But there are very few mobs with 135+ difficulty. Your chances are 65/55 vs 135 dif and 95/85 vs 120 dif.
I think you can go with +15 tactics on your jewel and switch to +15 music when you want to disco a tough mob (switch back after applying the effect). And if you imbue skills on both jewels you can switch between 90 tactics/120 music and 120 music/90 tactics. (but i would prefer to imbue disco - just to don't train it :))

Oh i see. Effects are halved against 160 creatures. Thats bad because i wanted to use this against peerless. I think then there wont be a dmg boost

Ok lets do some calculations. Assuming a battle against medusa using cw so the lowest resist applies: this would be fire damage, lets say 50 %. Weapon used: double axe (15 - 18)

    1. dmg using template with 120 tactics and 120 anatomy and 150 str:
    Tactics bonus 81,25
    Anatomy bonus 65
    Str bonus 50
    Joat lumberjacking 4
    Di from items 100
    --------------------------
    300,25 = 300%
    + dmg modifiers (300%)

So the axe hits for 135 - 162. that means assuming resist 50 the dmg would be 68 - 81.

    2. 90 tactics and 120 disco / music

    Tactics 56
    Joat anatomy 10
    Joat lumber 4
    Str bonus 50
    Di from items 100
    ------------------------
    220
    + dmg mod. 300

    So dmg 99 - 119. resist after disco 36 so final dmg 64 - 76

So ill do less dmg if i calculated right

    Yes.
The bad thing - there is no this (and some other) info in any guide or faq.
Just imagine - after spending one month for training disco to 120 you go to a peerless... and don't see damage boost you expected.

When I started to train disco I thought:
    1. Masteries are like auras. So I'll can use them to do area damage on low levels of spawns.
    2. I was going to get 105 music/disco and get 15/15 on jewels.
    3. Disco reduces a boss resistances for 28 points. (I was going to use mainly vs bosses since most of other mobs dies faster than I can apply it)

But (and this isn't written in the stratics/uoguide/forum faq):
    1. Disco masteries do damage to one target (and need be reactivated every 10-15 sec). So they are useless on low levels of spawns.
    2. You need 120 real skill in disco/music to do 36 damage (and it's just 60% of max possible damage)
    3. Disco effect is halved vs bosses

(the last info i have occasionally read in an old post that google has found for me for on of my questions)

Also Nature's fury makes a boura busy for 40 second taking off 1/3 its hit points.

I also advice you to become a Yew citizen to get 1 FC bonus (always the same bonus there).

I think your template is viable. You won't be able to keep up the disco masteries so I think your intent of using skill jewels makes sense.

I think the real question is whether your decreased damage output (less tactics and no anatomy) is offset by the discordance on the for. You will hit tough bosses more which may make it worth it. But for those that you already hit every time then I think the affect will be decreased damage output. I tried running a disco wraith thrower and I found the benefit compares to the normal template with anatomy to be minimal if not nonexistent.

I dont think the template will be of much use for me with effects halved. And i have to disco the mob first, even with 120 disco/music the miss chance is quite high agains 160 barding difficulty.

So i guess ill keep my classic template
