    :D

    Doom artifacts only in Malas.
    Tokuno artifacts when available.
Unique peerlesses not found in Felucca (Dreadhorn, Bedlam).
    Paragons!
Hunting where ever you please without risk of PK's.
Unique Replicas only in Trammel (Minotaur, bedlam, twisted weald, and a 4th i forgot).
Did I forget to mention Doom artifacts, the most powerful items in teh gamez?

    What do you think Uhall?

I've heard the same things said about champ spawns and double resources...

What's your point? If you think Tram is better for the things you've listed then... you're not gonna make me say it are ya?

Ok... come to Tram. There ya go... you seemed to want someone to say that... I guess you couldn't commit on your own.

If you're still confused... let me put it this way... you're a cow. The grass in your pasture ain't lookin so good. The grass is greener in the other pasture. You can stand around moo-ing all day cause you have sucky grass, or you can waddle over to the other pasture and enjoy the buffet.

I guess you like to go... MOOOOOOOOOOO!

hrm..dont you need ALOT of this loot, thats found in tram, that the monsters drop to be a good pvper in fel?

Also dont you need the power scrolls which you really cant get unless you are part of the ganking guilds on the shard to really move up to be a better pvper/Pvmer? On both tram and fel sides?

Truthfully its easier to get the trammy stuff then go to fel than it is to be in fel to get the fel stuff... :D

Btw you added doom twice :D :bdh:

Don't forget there are four of them. Another perk!

Also when Event Moderators were going, 95%+ events took place in Trammel. In fact in the later seasons they didn't even hold events in Felucca.

JC, thanks for the info, I didn't know that about EM events.

Trammel has perks and Felucca has perks.
Trammel has more perks than Felucca.
But, no, Trammel does not have too many perks. In fact, it has too few in comparison to Felucca, for this simple reason:

Trammel is far more popular and thus more populated. The number of perks Trammel enjoys compared to Felucca is disproportionately slanted to favor Felucca - a facet that has double resources, powerscrolls, and harrower hunts - things that should be permitted to be enjoyed by the greater majority of players without having to enter a ruleset they do not enjoy.

Such an argumetation would be as intelligent as a request for a Trammel-only-shard. A Trammel-only-shard would not make sense, as you have the choice to remain in Trammel and completely ignore Felucca (at least, if it wasn't for powerscrolls). Also, a Felucca player has the choice to get rid of his murder counts and go to Trammel whenever he likes. If he has too many counts, then it was his decision from the beginning to never go to Trammel.

All this discussion is stupid. The only flaws in our current system are:

    • Cheating, scripting, hacking, ghostcams.
    • Powerscrolls being essential for ANY player, but only availble in Felucca (which is controled by people using above methods).

It is a flaw, because in order to get powerscrolls (without having to pay millions to cheaters), you'd have to join the cheaters.

However, you don't have to cheat in order to go to Trammel and visit Doom (and I can tell you, contrary to powerscrolls, the Doom artifacts are not really worth the effort.)

  15. Not necessarily true. You can easily trade artifacts from Doom and Peerless for whatever scrolls you need. None gets rich this way, but everyone DOES get what they need and want.

Win-Win as far as I'm concerned.

I'm perplexed by the notion that whenever you cross through the red gate, you're suddenly in 'Cheater Land'.

And Hawkeye, I take offense everytime you say something along those lines.
    Seriously.

The majority are not cheaters, and if you took enough time to get to know some of them you might change your mind about Feluccans.

    All too funny Sam...

hawkeye_pike is right, the real problem is with the cheating, scripting, and hacking that occurs in the Felucca PvP environment. I am fairly confident that is one of the major deterents for folks not wanting to go to Felucca.

Instead of making items only spawn under one ruleset, there should have been a way to obtain said items in each facet, simply changing the method. Then nobody would be complaining about the need to get powerscrolls in Fel, and PvPers wouldn't have to trawl Tram facets to get arties they need to complete PvP suits. Spawns should exist on both rulesets so players can choose where they obtain items.

And Hawkeye, you don't need to cheat to obtain powerscrolls. My thief has managed just fine without a single script, or even a suit of armour. None of my characters cheat, yet I have gained scrolls hunting champs and harrowers too. So the whole "you have to cheat to get PS" is absolute bull. Make a thief, steal scrolls and use em. Or go hunt without cheats and you can get them too. Just because some lamers lack the skill to play the game legaly, doesn't mean everyone in Fel scripts their socks off.

That image of Felucca has been around for a very long time, and it was earned through real accounts of cheating/hacking/scripting. It will be hard to change the image of Felucca, but not impossible.

You should not take offense so easily. When Trammel was introduced, it was often refered to as Care Bear Land, but back then there was no difference in the content of the two facets (save for the Reds). I'm sure it was offensive to some, but they got through it.

Some of the Felucca regulars may not be cheaters, but is does not take many to ruin the image of everyone in Felucca. If you and your Feluccan friends are not cheaters, then I applaud you for not stooping down to their level. I have met some very nice people in Felucca, but that does not mean they don't cheat. I cannot see their screen, so I don't know (and if they have any brains they wont tell me if they did).

    Stayin Alive (regardless of facet),

Yeah, I understand what has gone down in UO over the many years it has been around. It's a shame the way things have turned out.

As for cheaters, all shards have them. The guy cheating in Felucca can just as easily be the Doom farmer with 2 chars making rounds on the Gauntlet with a script.

I think many use "cheaters and hackers" as an excuse to not participate in the challenge that is Felucca. :scholar:

But yes, I admit I have ran into some pretty fishy characters in my time.

I've spent a lot of time in Felucca. I actually had my house and my guild there long enough. I also try Champ Spawns in Felucca every now and then. I know exactly how I can recognize a speed hacker, I have seen ghostcams EVERY time I was in Felucca. Maybe some people are honest in Felucca. But those honest people are not the ones who control the Champ Spawns.

As I said in another posting: It is ok if a group of players controls an area, because they are well organized and stick together. If you could fight them using legal methods. But unfortunately, this is not the case.

Come to Catskills, visit a Champ Spawn as a ghost, and prove me wrong!

Edit: You seem to forget that I actually despise the day Trammel was invented. Trammel was one of the worst ideas in UO ever. However, none of us can enjoy Felucca any more as long as the Devs don't do anything about breaking game rules. And that is what makes me sad.

I've been called the following by trammys:

    Speedhacker.
4fc hacker (after they capped it).
    Seeing invisible hacker.
    100 DCI hack.
    Never get poisoned hack.
    SDI hack.
    Invincible hack.
Insurance bug user (after i looted someones suit).
Murder count hacker (they couldn't count me because they were a thief...)
Guards hacker (they were in polymorph).
    Pot bypass timer hacker.
Pot drinking hacker (because i held down last object to chug through someones agi potions on corpse).
    Spell scripter.

Probably some I have forgotten as well. Yet on every screenshot I've ever posted, there has never been a hack down the bottom of my screen. Apparently I'm magical.

Sdi Damage hack (because they have 45 fire after corpse and got killed by exp fs omen)
Damage hack (concussion blow hurt him because I mana vamped him)
4FC Chiv with 120 magery hack
No casting/no eating remove curse hack (i applied a faction bandage)

I dont know where people come up with those idea. Especially damage calculation is done on server end not client end so... lol And when I tried to explain to them that dmg done on server end not client end so u cant hack it he went "wtf you talking about did you also hack the uo server? I am paging on you now" :coco:

My buddy plays there sometimes. He said PvP is extremely unbalanced in favor to tamers and stealthers. He said tamers almost dominates small scale PvP. Which disappointed me greatly.

My visits to Fel go kinda like this...

(MyCharacter) Minding their own business, hunting, etc.

(FelCharacter) Run up at lightning speed.

(MyCharacter) ...I start to type "Hello." But by the time I hit enter it comes out... OooOoOooOooo.

Kinda hard to get to know you Fellucians as quite a few of you don't seem to enjoy casual conversation.

Oh, and I have to admit I didn't get the sarcasm until I saw the title of the other post on which this is based. I still think you're a disgruntled cow though. ;)

This is ****ing hilarious. I have made millions selling scrolls. Yet for some reason my computer has no cheats on it. I've never been banned for buying scrolls though...

The cheating is rampant on both facets. Just because in fel it affects you directly because some people cheat to kill you. Not all do. I'll almost gurantee there is more cheating going on in trammel then fell right now. I mean I bought 5 pairs of mace and shield from one guy plus 2 more dci ones.. Either hes a god damn champ or a certain program got them for him..

As for your go to trammel bull**** ****ing please. In fel to be good at defending and taking spawns you HAVE to be red. I choose to be red to defend whats left in Fell. That means i cant go to carebear land. Please hit me with the u have 7 chars make one blue because you also have 7 chars make one not suck and go do a spawn.

Im not positive but wasnt that moonglow thing only trammel to get the cloaks and the threads?

Also the most expensive scroll on my shard is a 120 magery which i just bought one for 12m...No others come close to that.

The thing nobody seems to understand here, from the trammel side, is that their artifacts and gear that are produced by trammelites, is probably about equal to the amount produced by pvpers who do so hating the boredom of farming those artifacts and crafting thousands of pieces of armor that are spectacular for a pvmer but garbage for the end game.

PvPers play the whole game to be the best, pvmers play about half the game and complain when they have to engage in a challenge to get what they want.

I recently made a 7xgm char and used him to pvm. I found no need for pscrolls as powers in trammel made my trammy warrior strong enough to hold his own against pretty much everything i could find.
I'm not even quite sure pscrolls make much of a difference in trammel outside of those related to bards and tamers.

I think Trammel has a lot more content if you count things up and compare the numbers, but PvP is the real "end-game content" of UO and is really the funnest part of the game.

I would say it is pretty even now that they've juiced up factions a little. I think a new Felucca-only Champ Spawn would be appropriate though.

  35. This is pure opinion and nothing more. PvP is AN endgame. It's not THE endgame. As far as what's the most fun (no such word as "funnest"), that's determined solely by the individual and not by minority, or even majority, opinion.

PvP is the most challenging activity in UO.

  37. That doesn't make it the one and all endgame of UO. It's just one option. It also doesn't determine what part of UO is the most fun.

What is your point? That people who don't PvP can still fully experience the game? That is not true.

  39. My point was that your statement made as fact was nothing more than opinion. People that don't PvP have their own end game, AND their own definition as to what part of UO is the most fun for them.

Fine but they aren't participating in the most challenging aspect of the game.

Endgame to me means the most challenging part of the game. The End.

85% of subscribers are PvMers. PvMers are keeping the servers running. But at present without a doubt Fel has the better perks with powerscrolls and godly faction arties (which will make Doom and Peerless pointless).

The focus should be on providing more content and better perks to Trammel facets, in fact 5 times more, because there are 5 times more PvMers than PvPers.

Risk vs Reward is irrelevant. It is far more important to focus on retaining the majority of subscribers to keep the game running.

1 - A year ago the percentage of STRICTLY PvP'ers was given by the Dev's as 25%, and that does not necessarily account for casual PvPer.

2 - I dont know about other shards, but I play on Napa, and I can say that it is far higher than 25% now - more like 50 - 75% of the players partake in some sort of PvP or go to Fel and PvP as necessary to protect their activities. Ya ... almost the whole shard.

If people are worried about not being able to PK people to get doom artifacts; there is a special shard where you can... Siege. The other post talking about fel having too many perks is something that Tram-play style people cannot get away form.

If you hate tram, you have your own shard. If you hate fel, you have nothing.

Inaccurate statement. If you love Fel/hate Tram AND you want no insurance, ROT, and to pay for 6-7 accts to have the same number of characters as you do on a regular shard, then you have Siege. If you hate Fel, you have 4 facets PER SHARD to choose from, and no, skill over GM is not actually necessary to play in any of them.

I would LOVE to have a Doom in Fel ... no, I dont want to PK to get the arties, I want the interest of PvP breaking out in Doom.
