Doom revamp?

    Will this ever happen DEVs? This place has set unchanged for ages. How about something like..

    Cursed arti drop for every room
    Arty turn in
    Doom titles
    New arti's
    "advanced" Shame type loot off the DF

    Anything.

    Most of the arties made in this game are usually poorly designed, and still wouldn't see much gameplay with reforging and imbuing allowing complete customization already.

    I was thinking about this while at work and I think it would be pretty sweet if some of the more useful artifacts could tweaked a bit, and some of the low quality ones replaced.

    Like how sweet would it be to get an Ornament of the Magician that has a random resist, instead of just always energy. The value for one with 15 fire resist would be alot higher then one with 15 cold. Just a thought.

    that only gets people in doom for a few months till they get all 4 of them and even now all major Artie's are no longer sought after even with some mod changes..a fully imbueable suit is way more customizable no more building suits around specific pieces I could be wrong but 90% of all pvp chars are rockin the same or close to same gear mod wise

    I think they should just make new artis everyonce in a while like they were supposed to do anyway. Or add other stuff like dyes special earrings stuffs like that.

    I agree. Just change the arti's ever so slightly, as mentioned above. And every 6 months, add a new one that is only in existence for maybe 6-12 months.

    How about they revamp it so that each room the mini boss has chance to drop 1 specific ingredient and Dark Father has chance to drop something like binding relic that combine all the ingredient to form an item.

    The item allows you to remove one negative property -100 luck, brittle, and can not be repaired. This item can not remove cursed property and can only be used on None-Reforged Item (items obtained from any of the new revamped dungeon).

    The drop rate needs to be reallly low.

    Each mini boss and DF would also have chance to drop some new arties?

    I would love to see the Conjurer's items added to Doom. They fit the theme and would be a great addition even if they were replica versions with 150/150 durability. These include:

    - Conjurer's Garb
    - Conjurer's Trinket
    - Conjurer's Grimoire

    They could also do a Sorcerer's line or a Mystic's line with similar item types to give some variability. I would love to see a talisman with the same mods as the Conjurer's Trinket, except with Demon slayer (for example).

    They should make a mount for doom maybe like a 2 follower same strength as a faction warhorse that the owner can self res with bandages without any skills in vetrinary!

    Similiar to the 2 Peerless mount drops, cept more widely used!

    I can see this being a place of alot of artifacts. They should do all of this add new ones then make them random and change them out to get new ones in and change it up every year and bring back the others.

    Like I always looked at loot as trying to look like an artifact if there was a bracer it would try to look like the orny. I could see that it could never be one because I knew it was capped at faster cast one. I could see the way it was being pulled from the random set and it did not seem random to me it just seemed to be weak. Like faster cast one/ lower regs 10 /lower mana cost 3.

    I would like to see not just one (Almost random) thing put on them but alot of random-caps or sets. Like if you make the arty with a stat on it and you have that stat set to ten then it could be random stat 10. If you have say mana 10 it would beable to change it to Stam 10 or hits 10.. So same with resis or slayer type or most anything I would think would work. So you can take something like a wep and make it then let the system do the rest. If you made the wep and it only had say 5 INT then using the number 5 is what would set that cap you could get 5 int 5 dex or 5 str. So they are still less random but more power is given to them. You can also make some of it so it will never change that why you can make it work better with spell casting or if it s meant for a dexer or has a focus to work with only one type of magic.

    Also each arty should have something it can do that is extra and should have a story or even a way to add it to other artifacts. That would be to much I guess unless it was done slowly over the years as they add new ones in later on.

    I'd love this. Heck, I'd love this if they made them brittle with 35/35 durability, if only for the fact that a newish player would be able to acquire them, leveling the field a bit. We would have to replace it every other month, but we would be able to have it. If and when one gets tired of replacing it, one would try to acquire the real thing for a big pile of gold.

    I was gifted the grimoire by a guild mate, and it's simply awesome against undead, but I know it will take me years to get enough gold to buy the trinket and the garb.

    How about they put in the Trinket / Garb and instead of just M2/140Luck/5DCI and a random superslayer on the trinket (or just a random slayer, with a rarer chance its a super slayer)

    It's
    MR 2/chance to have 140 luck and either 5 DCI / HCI / SDI / LMC / LRC

    I think with a little bit of randomness to the core item, it would make some more desireable to certain people and keep people trying to get the one they want.

    Back when I suggested Clean Up The Gauntlet 2011 I think I mentioned an idea of putting a dread warhorse in crystal option as an artifact. Since artifacts are kind of saturated at this point I think I would rather see some off beat things like a pet, an old event artifact, something unusual.

    Rares need to be protected, of course, but some items--like the Conjurer items, as Obsidian mentioned--are way too valuable for PvE. Nothing is really close in value as far as a robe, I mean 140 luck, MR 2, DCI 5?

    Another thing they could do, though, is make the Gauntlet more like a Gauntlet. They could have each room be an instance of sorts. A party could enter a room and go through the whole Gauntlet in the space of one room, which would make more sense than running from room to room. If everyone in the party died then maybe they'd be kicked out, hehe. Just an alternative thought.

    But yeah, as far as the "If it ain't broke" goes, would love to see the Gauntlet change a bit.

    I still like the concept of a mount drop from the gauntlet, I just believe that it should be more along the lines of Chief Paroxymous Swamp Dragon or the Grizzled Mare that the owner can self res. Nothing to powerful, but still useful enough to get used.

    I would be happy if they returned my ability to imbue the garbage I get in Doom... Artifacts ceased to be Artifacts when Imbuing was introduced and they became glorified trash. Give us back the ability to imbue things. This doesn't make anything overpowered now especially with reforging and the Shame/Cove/Wrong stuff.

    I would agree with this, if they raised the caps and the weight limits. For example: A minor arty you would be able to imbue up to 800 and a major arty up to 1,000. I'm not sure if these numbers are any where close. I'm just saying, if you're going to go the imbue route, then I would lock loot in at 500 and build up from there. The advantage of imbuing would be, that you start from scratch and the disadvantage of imbuing an artifact would be, that it comes with fixed modes that can not be changed.

    I would like to see examples of both systems, to see what's actually possible and what comes out. For example: If you take the arties we have now and set a cap on them, would they really be worth having even though you could add things to them with imbuing.

    I think it might be better if you opened up the range of possibility and created a system that automatically built the artifacts where the individual artifact would set the caps.

    For example: Take the orny and imagine that the system could make it random so faster cast recovery, cap 6, faster casting, cap 3, lower mana cost, cap 35, lower reagent cost, 25, resistance 20.

    So, remember this is a named arty, ornament of the magician and one person could get what was above, which would be the highest or best or somebody could receive faster cast recovery 1, faster casting 1, lower mana cost 10, lower reagant cost 5, and any resistance in 15. So, now you end up with a kind of junky orny. So, you could increase the drop rate so more people receive artifacts but not everybody gets the best artifact.

    And if you tweak the system you can produce better artifacts knowing what the limits will be ahead of time. So, perhaps they don't come out so bad some things could be made so they never change, like with the orny, faster cast 2 and lower reagant 20 is what makes it worth having. So, I would fix those 2 permanent because that's why it has the name that it does.

    I don't want to see random intensities, I am cool however with a resist being random or a random skill that can be associated with the item.

    Getting a lesser version of an artifact would just be depressing. Like that ornament you suggested wouldn't even get used by anyone.

    I just want the ability to imbue the crappy ones back.

    Also I want to be able to alter items from one thing to another same slot item... call it alter or call it transform.... but I want to be able to take a crimson and put all the properties of the crimson into a woodland belt.... I want to take the hideously ugly mempo of fortune and turn it into a leaf gorget... etc, etc, etc...

    Tired of dressing in crazy stuff.. would like to take my mace and shields and make them into a nice circlet.

    Yes Selurnoraa, I agree I would not like it ether but if you look at some stuff we have now as an arty. So you take the best of that and set a higher cap for them to roll. Like if you think anything less then what the orny is now would be no good then you set the low end cap at what it is and then allow for more. Like if you think the faster cast should go up 4 and the recover go up to 8 or even the lower regs go up to 40. It is up to you to set that and then you just let them roll out. Like I siad some could just be what they are and have nothing change. You would be trying to get a better version but also one that works better with your suit.

    That was just an example of what could be used not that I would like to see them drop at all. The ideal is to make each one different in some way so you can do more and have a chance at a better one. I am not saying it would work but if you add some things and see what happens it might work real good.. Then again I guess I could take that time to put some on paper or something. The thing you have to do is base it on wight so if you have say 800 cap the system can add to it but is not any less then the others. You would still get a range. You can also test the imbuing I think your going to find the need to make more in that case and you might find most are made the same way by the imbu. I do see more types of templates though. Here is one I would build using random as a power to make 100s of just one.

    Yes I like this ideal what if they made some cool looking suits you could pick and then no matter what you have on you look anther way? Like adding in looks or something. I wish we did have it so we could look more planed out. Its almost like before dyes that was even bad with mixed up colors and the looks.. Robes made the game then.

    Also if the type is random then you can get a full set of this type and it will look good also. Just that you would need to get all bone or all dragon scale. So if all the arties drop like this that are armor you can ether trade or buy or keep trying for the same type so they look the same or go together.
