DOOM TEMPLATE HELP!!!!!!!

Discussion in 'UO Warrior' started by Sergul'zan_SP, Dec 17, 2007.

  1. Ignore the topic, I always wanted to do that.

Anyways, I'm creating a paladin for duration stays in doom, and I wanted to get input from others on the template.

    Here's what I have:

    120 Swordsmanship
    120 Tactics
    100 Anatomy
    100 Focus
    100 Healing
    95 Resisting Spells
    85 Chivarly

I've debated the prospect of putting parry on the template (it is soulstoned at 100 right now), and I'm curious: which would you prefer, Parrying or Resisting Spells for Doom?

All comments and constructive criticism are welcome!

  2. I have ran into little trouble running my warrior without resist in Doom.
I suggest adding Parry and fitting in Necro for Vamp Embrace. The hit life leach is a life saver.

  3. Could a pure necro be effective in doom as well? I actually have one, just didn't think he'd be viable.

The speed at which DF's die anymore due to the sheer volume of people whacking them makes a pure Necro a bit of a stretch. You just dont get much out of poison/pain spike/strangle or even wither when you are competing against archers doing 200+ a shot every other second. Demon book w/ magery spells (FS) and i land 200+ to keep pace in wraith form for leeching, but not even worth the time to cast necro spells.

what other skills hav u done on your pure necro as you would have some points left

    Necro 120
    SS 120
    Med 120
    Focus ..

not much else i think of for a pure necro.

I run a necro/mage in doom and get artis frequently, corpse skin with flamestrike is awesome for Doom.

I believe Steffana's comments on this subject in an earlier thread of a few weeks ago have proved best per my own testing as of late. I live there in Doom currently, and rarely come out except when my armor is shredded and barely hanging onto my flesh.

Specifically, the post I found most valuable in what she said at the site noted below, was this....and remember, I cringed at the thought of following her advice of dropping my 120 Tactics and Anatomy to a base 100 GM level, but dropped to 110 each, but evenso, I am seeing much better results in my play. My set up is pretty much like hers noted at the end of this post, with the exception that I have gone with 100 healing just because...you know...just because, and Chivalry at 60. Maybe one day I will drop Tactics and Anatomy lower just to see what happens.

"You have swordsmanship but you want to use a Fencing weapon? Why? I know it has UBWS on it, but you'd do better finding a Katana, Radiant Scimitar, or Bokuto Demon Slayer. You'll also need a 100% Cold or 100% Fire weapon and an Undead Slayer Radiant Scimitar.

You also definitely need to work on your suit. You need all 70's since the DF spreads his damage over all resists. You may also regret not having Resisting Spells since the Abyssmal Horror will constantly curse you down 20-30 STR/Dex/Int. If Resist, you only get hit for 4-10.

I like taking my swordsman down there. He's can't kill as fast as a Provo/Tamer, but he has good fun. The DF takes way too long to solo, but he can definitely do it.

Here are the weapons I take (all my weapons have at least 35% DI and 30% HML):
    - For the Darknight Creeper and the Shadow Knight, I use an Undead Slayer Radiant Scimitar.
    - For the Abyssmal Horror and Impaler, I use a Demon Slayer Radiant Scimitar
    - For the Flesh Renderer, I use a 100% Cold Damage Radiant Scimitar
    - For the DF, I use my PvP Twinkling Scimitar with 42% Hit Lightning, 42% HLA, 45% HML, 36% HSL, 10% HCI, 6% DCI, and 35% DI. Don't use a Demon Slayer against him because he will insta-kill you with Blood Oaths. Also switch weapons to the Undead Slayer whenever you are being attacked by the Undead so you can wipe them out with a few Whirlwind primary attacks (that's why I use Radiant or Twinkling Scimitars). Switch back to your PvP weapon when it's you against the DF.

    As for your skills, Hmm....
    - 120 Swords and Parry. I wouldn't have them any lower unless I couldn't afford (or find) the scrolls.
    - Anatomy makes very little difference above 100. I'd put those 10 points somewhere else.
    - Necro...It's kind of useful...With the right jewelry and such, you can have as little as 30 skill points here if I remember right.
    - Chivalry. Anything over 95 is too much. I usually go with 90, but even 75 can be enough. You need to be able to case EoO at least once out of 3 or 4 attempts, and 75 will usually get you that.
    - Focus...Useless skill as far as I'm concerned. It can be replaced with HLL and HML on your weapon and an ocassional Divine Fury. If you have HML on your Radiant Scimitar and you use Whirlwind on the Undead spawn, you will constantly have a full supply of mana.

I'm not saying I have the perfect DOOM warrior skill template, but I go with this:

    120 Swords/Parry
    100 Tactics/Anatomy/Resisting Spells
    90 Healing/Chivalry

If you have the right bows, you could go with 120 Archery and maybe 120 Bushido instead of swords and parry, but I like my guy the way he is."

Sorry for the late response. I have an all 70 suit with stamina and mana extras. I notice that stamina is a big thing down in Doom, even when I have leach weapons. I eat regular and chug lots of Refresh potions.

Then again, don't rely on me. I come to the warrior forum to usually suck what I can out of any post Steffana makes. She seems to know alot of [censored]. And I don't get on enough to waste time. I go to the posts of those that seem to know.

So, being here, asking, you are doing the right thing. Saves time, and enhances game play when you can get on.
