duel tourney

Discussion in 'UO Chesapeake' started by Belanos/Icicle, Apr 26, 2009.

  1. I've been thinking about hosting a weekly 1v1 duel tournament, thought I'd post here to find out what sort of interest there would be.

Basic rules I would insist on are:

    Fight dismounted
    No disarming
    No x-fields
    no assistance from spectators
leave all ill-will outside the doors - factions or not, no fighting inside unless you're in the current duel.
a small entry fee - 50k or so
    no trash talking
entry limited to templates of at least moderate skill - no complete new fighters (I want the duels to be entertaining to the spectators as well as to the fighters).

I would probably start prizes at like 3 mil for the winner, 2 mil for second place, 1 for the first (depending on how much interest there is) and perhaps engraved prize statues as a sort of commemoration for placing in a tournament.

There would be regular duels as well as occasional special duels, with different rules - only GM-crafted equipment, multiple players vs a greater dragon, things of that nature.

Duels would take place in a Fel 'coliseum' sort of building that I'm working on, which will offer two or three different dueling areas, differing in size and layout.

My theory is that everyone likes a good 1 on 1 just to test their own skills, and I think participants would be willing to follow these rules for a fun fight.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?
and especially from the pvpers on stratics, would this interest you or others?
