EC client crash fixed with pub 73.2?

    I read a fix for crashing to desktop during corgul.
    is it just for that instance or like everywhere? cause id crash at fel yew alone for seemingly no graphic reason.

    the reason i left the game months and months ago was because for even many more months before that teh game would randomly crash to desktop. kind of hard to feel awesome when you randomly stop moving and let smack talkers have there way with you.

    so i like ec because i have bad ping to atl. lets face it ec client is like running a speeder. also it has nice mods and extra features youll never find in classic. also its hard to go back to 2d after so long playing ec, the cc is way to zoomed in.

    I have not had any crashes and i cranked all my graphics up and have been running like a mad man around shame

    sorry, this fix seems to only cover that particular crash issue. I've crashed twice looking for honesty items - unless someone's linked ctrl shift to the quit macro when I wasn't looking :D

    Petra that's probably the crash I get often when running.... Particularly when you run one direction then suddenly turn back over your path and go the opposite way...

    that often causes my client to crash. And I can't be sure that's the client or my graphics card.

    actually there is a very odd issue with object handle.
    If an object handle is closed automatically (like while moving), the client crash.
    Without any error message.

    I notice this when I've done the ignore item function, and I had to put a little delay between the target and the label removing or the client just get closed.
     
  7. I am getting this crazy bug in the EC client that started about a month ago. Right after I recall or use a moongate, sometimes I will get stuck and will continuously get the sound and animation of walking - and I can't move from that spot.

    I can cast spells, invis, teleport, recall, and even refresh the EC client (Ctrl-R) and it persists. The only thing that fixes this is to restart the client. VERY annoying!

    Thanks Pinco. In that case I can probably avoid that by stopping before I use ctrl shift.

    The EC still happily crashes to desktop from time to time, from a user perspective it looks random, if this is what is stopping you from playing... well, it hasn't changed.

    pre-casting and running seems to crash you sometimes as well

    Does that happen in 2d too?

    Tested it by running around Britannia in Felucca from Yew to Skara Brae from Skara to Brit etc. I can confirm that the crash bug isn't fixed, running around
    continuously will let you crash in 20 minutes around that.

    It has todo with the dynamic objects on the ground, but what is wrong i have no clue.

    What I have noticed -

    Humm dynamic objects looks like a nice starting point since when i end up back on my desktop it appears as if i have right clicked on my desktop to pick out the option menu. Almost as if there was a hole in the game that the cursor fell through.

    I am by no means a programer or have really any idea why it happen but the fix is NOT complete.

    The fix wasn't for the random CTD issue, it was for the massive lag spike (and client unresponsiveness/crash) caused by the big explosion that Corgul, the Primeval Lich, Crimson Dragons, and some EM event mobs/guardian locked objects produce.

    Having lived through repeated, quick succession explosions of this type since the patch, I can attest to this issue being resolved.
