I need to kill 5 ice demons and 5 efreets, not possible since I don't have combat skills, would it work to group with someone else and have them kill for me? If not is there any way for me to do this quest with no combat skills?

If you're on a non-Siege server, your best bet would to soulstone some skills from another character over to it.

Since there are a number of elven crafters out there, I am guessing that it is possible. I know that type of thing works in the arcanist quest...my friend helped me, and I just needed to make sure I did some damage to the monsters to get credit on the quest.

  4. If your character is a crafter type with magery, I would suggest you pile on jewelry and spellbooks to push up your magery. Then find a bard to go with you and peace the ice demons and efreets for you. Use whatever summoning spells you can pull off (blade spirits, elementals, EVs) to kill the ice demons and efreets.

If you go to the lower level area in Ice for the ice demons, I think they usually only spawn one at a time and the spawn rate has gotten ridiculously slow, so you should be okay. The efreets spawn in a room with a door. When you arrive, there may be a little extra spawn outside the room that you'll have to get rid of first, but if you have a bard along that can area peace and help you with that spawn, you will be fine. Once that stuff's gone, summon whatever you're going to use to kill the efreets, hide by the door, and then open it.

If you're on Baja, GL, or Atlantic and can't find anyone else to help, shoot me a PM and I'll give you a hand with getting straight into the areas in Ice and Fire where you need to go and peacing those critters for you.

  5. If you have magery, you can, in addition to casting on them for damage, get a mage wep to use to help with more damage. You have to do the "most" damage for them to count, but your "helper" can assist with damaging, just not over half.

As another poster stated, a good bard, with 120 skillages, can disco, making it much easier to kill them nasties. Toss in the peacing, and it may take you a while, but you can do eeet!!! [IMG]

PS....anyone can use a wand, get yourself some fireball wands, as well as tossing explosion potions!!

Wands are great for crafters to use, and mage weapons can be very helpful, if you have 40 - 50 real skill in magery. I use jewelry on my crafter to boost magery at least 20 points to help offset the mage weapon penalty (if you are on Siege, and can get someone to loan you swords of prosperity, you can use your Siege bless on it, and it has no penalty), and I hold a crafted +12 spell book when casting, and I can summon elementals then, with scrolls to eliminate fizzle or without scrolls if I can deal with some fizzle. (With my best mage bonus jewelry, and spell book, I have 100 magery on that character).

If you are playing on Siege though, which I seem to recall you are, the problem is you have to be prepared to lose anything you take. Fortunately, +10 jewels, and the crafted spell book are easily replaced items though if there is a mishap.

I took the same crafter on a few hunts with my bard/mage friend. I used a golem, and he used discord/peace on the monsters. It was quite a thrill to kill poison elementals, and the like. My character didn't even die once while he was helping me, and he took me into some pretty hectic places. I used potions, wands, and spells in combination to keep myself healed/cured.

If you are a GM lumberjack, I think you can do some damage with an axe/hatchet (I seem to recall trying this a while ago with some hatchets I crafted that had the max DI with arms lore bonus) but I think the golem & summons are your best bet in terms of dealing damage.

I helped my friend on a newbie char do that and he used explo pots *laughs*

I just took the things down almost all the way then he chucked pots at it, worked just fine.

Yeah, all you need is looting rights. The best way is to get some Energy Vortex scrolls, a mage spell book, some spell jewels, buy to 30, and you should be all set.

  9. I wasn't able to kill the ice deamons with my char so the person there that was killing them partied me and I was able to get credit for the kills.
