Horse Race! Ladies and Gentleman! EM Borbarad presents the first Drachenfels Horse race! Well... it was not a 100% horse race. For not to discriminating the gargoyle race they could participate to while using there wings. I'm maybe a old man with brittle bones, i do like a bit of competition. So i wrote myself in with my trustworthy McGyver horse. I like to win but i'm afraid i was not the only one that participated into this race. EM Borbarad explained the rules to the racers. Then he asked for 3 volunteers to stand at the checkpoints to make sure no one took a shortcut. After taking them to there "secret" spot he took the racers to the start of the race near Umbra. The race would take place from Umbra to the Luna Fairgrounds. EM Borbarad took notes first of all the racers name. He told us again what to do and made clear we had to stay on the road and crosses the checkpoints. He started to count down 3 2 1 0 ... I took out my camera one more last time to take a picture of the start of the race...Ack... its a race! Maybe i should not done that. And of we all go! With a bit of a late start i had some catching up to do. But i know these twisting roads very well and i made sure i took the shortest way inbetween the road. Taking the inside of the corners made me catch up on some racers. But the race was still long and my McGyver horse was doing great! Maybe the running away all these years from Paragon monsters in Ilshenar do have its benefits. After coming out of the caves near the Hostel i seemed to be in a 2nd position. It was still a distance to the fairgrounds and hoped i still could catch the leader! Then i crosses the last bridge and i noticed the leader slowing down. I seemed to gain on him fast. Closing towards the finish line we where neck and neck. And then we both crossed the line! Shortly after more racer came to the finish. It seemed to be very close and EM Borbarad had to check the finishfoto. After carefully examining the finishfoto EM Borbarad gave the final results. Congratulations to the winners! And me 2nd is not bad for a old man. But maybe next time on a race i should not take pictures of a start*winks* We had a good time and we thanked EM Borbarad for this nice little event. Em Borborad told us more of fun is waiting for us. I can't wait to see more. Oh and the winners trophies where nicely placed in the EMs Museum. For these and more EM Event trophies you can visit the museum using the gate near the Counselors hall in Britain! New Frarc, Drachenfels News reporter.
