I've never actually been to an EM Event to be honest.

What happens at these "Meeting With..." ones? Is it just a case of meeting the em for a chat or does the EM take you on a hunt or something?

Sometimes its just a meeting to talk about clues we found on a previous hunt.

Usually the meeting ones sometimes say 'Prepare for battle' which would mean the meeting then leads onto a fight, However just because this one doesn't say that doesn't mean we won't be fighting.

I'd come along and see what its about :) If its just a chat you can always leave.

Considering we found out the Orcs have a HQ under Britain and Fynn is the head of security for Britain I think its likely we'll be going to fight tonight, But who knows.

Well that was... chaotic, is the best way to put it. Partly it was our own fault, as we just ran forward from objective to objective without looking after each other, as true followers of virtue should do. But the event was made much more difficult by the inability to cast vortexes, gates or recalls on anything but the bottom level; the huge numbers of dead orks hiding people's corpses even on maximum zoom and with gump tabs showing; and of course the murderous acid corridor which left a good number of us constantly dead and unable to see the second half of the event... Fortunately I managed to save all my gear, even if I ran out of money for insurance on the third death; I feel sorry for those with even less wealth who could have been bankrupted by that one corridor. And whilst I salute the EM for trying to stay focused on the event itself, there was considerable unrest by the end, which soured the whole experience. A little scouting and warning before hand, so people can be better prepared and mutually supporting in the face of such brutal challenges may be an idea... something like "beware the corridor ahead!" and not so much "Ultima is a game of items now, dash at and loot those bosses!"

Here's the screen shots I managed to take; Nothing from the second half as I was too busy trying to get out of acid, not fall down the ladder onto an acid elemental, and then get my corpse and things out of the acid...

I enjoyed the Event - Though there was some chaos - but that was created
by the players - i wont blame the environment.

We were aware that we possibly would go into the sewers right from the beginning
and the environment was not the problem i think. Might hgave been a little challenge
though - e.g. i prefered to go there unmounted - gives me better navigation ;)

The number of corpses were the result of the number of players - more mobs for
more players if youre dealing with orcs :) - to find my corpse i use 'show all names'
and with that it hadent been a problem (classic client).

What did get us in troubble was indeed a lack of cooperation - but thats another
thing the players are responsible for (and i absolutely include me here) - i think
even a EM could hope for a bit independant player-selfcoordination ;)

The Event itself was quite simple and was done successfully, no?
    - Go into sewers
    - kill orks, find elders, find clues
    - find BigBob, kill him (?)

The Info that was found in that Letter/Report is indeed very interesting and
is leading the story onwards - so my impression of the event, including some
deaths, is positive - was a slaughter event and not a parade - and the
slaughter was on both sides :)

My thanks go to Aaron Swordmaster, Bunny, Shadow, Illijan, Flame and many
more for the help, the guide and the patience and ofc. to the EM(s) ;)

Wasn't there for this event, but the sewers are one of the areas (like also the Candle of Love cave when it was accesible) which are very tricky since you only have 1 tile sight. Makes healing or targetting others a real challenge if you are a mage...
