EM event rewards

  1. i was thinking how EMs could reward players during events. could the EMs have the power to add to the landscape?

    like for instance, if the event involved a town invasion, and the players defended the town, the EMs could place a statue in commemoration, and possibly the players could click on it to receive a minor blessing/buff that'll last for a long duration, or until log-off. something simple like +luck, or +health regeneration, etc. or the statue could bestow a a commemorative item once per character.
    the same for a competitive event too, the winner would be displayed as a statue (even a small one), their name displayed for all to see, which could grant blessings in relation to the event. (like a gladiator event could bless a few hitpoints for the day).

    or maybe the rewards could be to improve structures and services in the cities, like adding stables, furniture, service npcs, or moongates. or building roads and bridges, healer huts, etc.

    Given the size of the world now, I've often felt it would be nice if there was a little monument added with each publish somewhere in the land so that with a little exploring/touring, you could trace the history of the game.
     
  3. that would be pretty interesting too. just imagine wandering in the wilderness, coming across a curious statue, which would explain an event in history at that location.

    I'm all for that.

    I've often said that they should be allowed to "change" the environment and add things to areas much like seers did.

    And leaving things for others to "discover" later commemorating an event there is a good idea.

    I'd really like something like that. I currently have a nice little stockpile of screenshots of unique places on LS, such as blessed player establishments, old Seer character residences, event locations, memorials, decorated counselor's guilds etc. These little things are what make each shard unique, and in my opinion there should be more of them.

    Unfortunately, several of the ones that I never managed to get screenshots of have since disappeared or have been torn down, which is a shame. I understand when it comes to player establishments, as they may no longer be active, but the other stuff should stay as a part of each shards unique history.

    The trouble with EM-placed ones is that although it is nice to have unique things on each shard, the testing overhead to make sure they don't get accidentally squashed by routine changes/events must be a nightmare.
