I'm posting this message hoping that the developers will see it and revise the number of shoes that fishermen continue to pull out. Let me just say it very simply, for an experienced fisherman, having to take shoes out of your pack when fishing is nothing more than an annoying hassle. Why have something in the game that just aggravates players for no benefit? So, I just turned in a 3-part 50 item fishing quest and got more bait. I'm now waiting for my tillerman to drive me to Britain for a delivery of 6 different items totaling 75 total fish (my biggest order yet), and what I'm thinking is, I'm gonna have to do some more fishing soon. Which is cool, I enjoy it or I wouldn't be doing it (except for the lobster catching). But there's just absolutely no reason that a GM fisherman (still hoping for my first fishing PS) should be pulling up 3, 5, 10 pairs of shoes for every pack full of fish. It's just plain annoying. Do the developers realize that the only thing to do with this is to pick them up and throw them away (yeah, I know you can sell them or whatever, still annoying). Talk about an asinine and totally unnecessary waste of clicks and movement. Ok, I understand that there is some comical value to pulling up a pair of shoes. I can see it as a fun RP element for newbie and training fishermen. But consider how many times a GM fisherman has had to reach into his pack, pull out a pair of shoes and throw them away. Thousands? Hundreds of thousands? Millions (probably not)? Shouldn't an experienced fisherman know not to reel in shoes? Aside from the totally annoying nature of having to reach in and drop 5-10 items for every pack full of fish, all those shoes look stupid lying around every where and no doubt cause lag. I know, there's different ways to throw them away, but the piles I see all over the place tell me that people don't want even more hassle of going to a trash container to get rid of them. So, here's my proposal, reduce or eliminate shoes from the loot tables form GM+ fishermen. Look, I don't want the developers to waste valuable time and resources dealing with this, so I think that's probably the simplest way to do it. Leave things as they are for newbie fishermen (there is RP value, etc.) but take them out at GM. Alternatively, if you don't want to change the game too much, eliminate shoes at 110 or 120 fishing. I don't think anyone has reached these levels yet, so no change at all to the game experience. Alternatively, allow people to set their fishing poles (much like people set their shovels in mining to get gems or granite or nothing) to "shoes" or "no shoes" - essentially making it so an experienced fisherman will just throw shoes back without the player having to actually take them out of the pack and drop them; and people who want shoes can get them. I guess this would take more development time, but it fits within current game mechanics. Look, there's no point in having something in the game that just aggravates people, especially if it is something that people have to do over and over and over and over and over and over and over...and over and over...and over. Picking up shoes from your pack and dropping them has got to be one of the most useless things you can possible do. If you want people to continue taking advantage of the fishing changes (which I like), then you have to get rid of some of the useless aggravating factors. Dramatically reduce or get rid of the shoes. It's pointless to make GM fisherman pull up a ton of shoes, and it doesn't make any sense either. Incidentally, I arrived to deliver my 75 fish order and received...bait. It's cool, I like fishing, and sailing around is giving me plenty of time to read and post on stratics.
