went in with some guild mates to finally try this Exodus fella and all i have to say is..... how in the heck are you suppose to kill this darn thing!

we spent the hour trying everything we could think of to kill this fella and the only thing we found that we could do really well against him was die..... fast.... and lots.

am i missing a trick to doing this?
we went in with 3 greater dragons and 5 mages to heal them because i thought i read somewhere that was the best way to do it.
    and nothing.
dragons would all go down and barely a scratch to the big ugly sausage.

anyone have any secrets to impart with us lowly masses?

One secret is to not let him run around all over the place. Anchor him with summons. If you're using pets the whole team has to be prepared to heal them. One tamer can't heal them enough. The group I hunt with uses mostly EVs and RCs. I use a bard running Inspire. I cast EVs and when he summons Animated weapon I provo them onto my EVs to keep it off my companions. When it's fully engaged with summons you can cast E-bolt or bombard etc on it, but if you do that when it's not anchored it will chase you - and it moves darn fast! Stay out of the voids it casts.

Dragons alone can kill him but it takes 40+mins. My guild uses at least 3 GD to hold him then a mage or mystic to use summons and heal whichever dragon is low on hp, at least 2 throwers or archers to do damage. I have spellweaving, vet, magery, med, focus, 18 hp regen, 45dci, 150hp and I consider it a good run if I only die once or my dragon only dies a few times. We make sure everyone is ready and have person(we call the bait) who has the fastest connection go get the boss and lead it to all our dragons. Word of death saves a lot of time finishing the boss.

Our group (4 mystics and a bard) use mainly RC's we try to surround him so he doesn't move so much) we also have a bard who casts ev's and provokes his summons back onto him or onto the ev's. Once he is red-lined we throw in a word of death or two just for good measure. Oh we also invise ourselves a lot to keep his attention off of us.

Each time I've gone we have taken a few Mystic Mage Weavers and Throwers. RC's need to stay constantly summoned (use Arcane Empowerment too), Cast Paralyze Fields constantly to slow him down and give people he targets a chance to survive. Heal people as needed.

I would never recommend taking pets to Exodus. You do need literally the whole team healing them and while some people have managed to do Exodus runs using pets, it is something much easier achieved using another template.

RC to anchor him and Cast everything you can on him.... Stay out of the pools. If things go bad have your fastest runner kite him around for awhile while you all get ready again and cast RC's. IF he casts RC's run those off and invis... return..... if he cast's animated weapons destroy them. If I go on my archer with chiv you can target the animated weapon and use Dispell Evil to destroy them...... *Poof* just like that. Doesn't work on RC's though.

    Mystic/Mage/Weavers FTW

Our guild can do it in 20-30 mins with only 3 people using those templates. RC's up constantly and para fields between him and the group to keep him away from you. Rarely does anyone die and we've been doing it for months with no problems.

So I was told that if I brought my sampire down there the only drop I would get would be a death robe. Keep in mind I wasn't talking going solo but with a group, i guess that class isn't so overpowered after all.

Thats because the new mobs they've been creating give sampires fits, and encourage teamwork... in a low population game...lol

Hmmm, so what template would work in a team situation? I'm not into casting or taming, so would an archer work?

We tried with 3 Mystics about a week ago. He kept going through our RC's like they were nothing. Couldn't keep him from switching to one of us and then the whole event would turn into chaos. Regroup try again with a slightly modified tactic with the same result. He would just poof our fields and whack our RC's.....after an hour, never saw his hp's drop below 96% became frustrated and gave up. I think it is BS that the only real tank is a GD and all the other templates are 3rd tier at best.

My experince here not withstanding I would be interested in seeing a video battle that doesn't use any GD's.

Well I tried with my sampire (wearing a noob darkwood suit) and my bard only, well I lasted few minutes but colossus+exodus finally achieved my sampire. In fact with a better suit imbued and a better weapon it could be possible. I will try uploading a video but Im not sure they will let me link the video here

Ouch, absolutely false. I go with two tamer friends with GDs, me on a bard using provoke masteries. 2 of us have Spellweaving and so each dragon gets a gift of renewal. It's easy to set up and easy to win, literally all I have to do is stand there. The tamers just heal their dragons with magery.

I agree with this process. Have gone many many times with my archer and 4 people who can cast RC. Deaths still, yes, but much less painful using these tactics. :sword: Great Lakes

I call alot of BS going on here, we have gone in with a few tamers and mages healing, One healer per pet is just plain BS, They CANNOT keep the pets alive. But believe what you want. Looks like alot of immature fisherman have invaded this thread.

Sounds like you either have a bad tamer or hang out with a lot of them. I explained it as detailed as I could, it's very easy to understand. If you can't perform it, I'd suggest taking a look at your gear and template, as well as your play style. First and foremost though, I'd work on your terrible attitude. Several people attest to doing it, and you "call bs" just because you can't? Sorry, nobody is going to agree with that. You're basically just raising your hand and shouting that you're a bad player.

Yep I am a BAD Player with a Terrible attitude, oh wait I play with MANY different people, some strong some weak, and we know which is which and what our strengths are. I have gone in with some of the best mages / tamers I know with Incredible suits and with only 1 player healing a pet you CANNOT keep it alive especially with only 2 pets with 1 tamer each. I have MAX Mana regen and focus and med and I cannot heal enough to fight thru his attacks without having to pull back at least 3 times. Been in with 3 draggies and Extra SWs, Mystics and still it gets hairy. I am guessing there is something to what you call an easy SETUP that makes you style Viable. A gift of renewal and just plain one healer pet pet does NOT work. To the OP try it if you wish and let me know how it goes, but i would take more in than 3 people, There are a few suggestions that actually work here use them. If you do go in with 2 pets, 2 tamers, ad a bard please let me know how it goes. Gospel don't bother replying, I already don't believe you, if you want to take me in and show me PM me and ill tag along and watch.

We've done it a bunch with 3 mystics and a thrower.. takes about 15-20 mins.. thrower with cold damage gets high hits. honor him first. keep RC's up at all times. 1-2 deaths if we're not paying attention.. bringing a bard drops about 5 minutes off the timer.

I don't need you to believe me. I literally don't care at all whether you can do Exodus or not. If you can't play as well as everyone else that's your problem, not mine.

You are, sadly, extremely mistaken about Weins' abilities... and the abilities of the group he hunts with.

Touching to see you vouch for him but what's your point?

Look, real simple. Nobody else is having trouble with exodus, yet Weins seems to think its impossible. So when several people explain how it's done, he would rather call us liars than admit he can't do it himself.

I explained it once, that should really be enough. It's not "one healer per dragon." Bard + SW + Magery. I said very clearly I use Provo masteries. Anyone with a basic understanding of bards knows Provo masteries heal, and for quite a lot, as well as giving other large stat bonuses to the entire group including pets.

So yeah , vouch for your buddy. And yes Weins, call me a liar and cleverly accuse me of exploiting. If you put that much thought into playing UO you wouldn't need to look like a jackass on the boards every time you call someone out.

Not at all... Please reread through Weins' posts (and the ones that he's replied to)... he's never said Exodus is impossible. He has responded directly to someone saying that it is not possible for a single tamer to keep their dragon alive without some additional healing from other players. You can't stand close enough to heal with bandaids due to the death vortex and even with max focus, meditation plus being capped on all magery buffs - you can't keep the dragon alive alone. He called BS on that one issue.

Now after attacking him for that one statement - you are backtracking and agreeing with him that it is not one healer per dragon... Wow... Who's the one looking like what you said above?

Tazar, are you even reading the posts or are you just trying to fight your buddies battles for him? I'm not backtracking a bit, my first post very clearly described my tactics, the same tactics I described yet again when people were for whatever reason unable to comprehend it the first time.

Weins said there was "a lot of BS here." Nor you or him has succeeded in showing it.

Glad I get to explain this to a third party, even though its none of your business.

I don't care how you guys play, and I don't care that you apparently don't play particularly well. I just post my tactics the same as everyone else did so people don't get mislead into thinking strategies aren't viable just because some players can't pull them off. Go pick a fight somewhere else dude, I'm not here to debate semantics or justify myself to drama queens.

    Can it!

    Weins objected to your statement
You've admitted yourself this statement is not true. The tamers heal their pets with magery and gift of renewal, plus you contribute to the healing with your provo masteries.

I don't care whether it's a case of Weins didn't read the rest of the post carefully enough ot you didn't explain clearly enough, this attacking other posters stops NOW.

To quote Weins (See post #22 above):

    To quote you:

You are both agreeing that one healer per dragon is not it... So it appears to me that you are simply arguing for the sake of argument - or attempting to engage in board-pvp.

If you really believe that one-healer per dragon can do it - then why not take Weins up on the challenge and do a video? or invite him in to come watch? Guess it's not so easy for you to provide proof for some reason...`

There was a time when you could do one healer per dragon - but that exploit has been fixed.

RgR but you do not stand toe to toe with him you use RC and stand back and let them fall, then recast them. Yeppers that way also works. Sampires get mangled and any healer who gets into his void polls also get mangeld. You just have to stand back and HEAL HEAL HEAL and watch out if things start to go bad.

Jesus Petra. Don't quote one line of my post and take it out of context. My post was pretty clear, it's not on me if people can't read. I guess I know why Weins gets to hang around and crap on people all the time here now. He must be on the favorites list .

Carry on guys, winning an argument through moderator threat makes you right every time.
