In light of the HOC comments, I'm thinking what changes I'd like to see to factions: 1. Let us use more traps, and more variety of traps, in both towns and strongholds. 2. In the new strongholds, remove the crazy back-doors and other bugs that allow people to sneak past the entrances - I'm thinking of the notch on the north side of the minax base that can be used to pop inside using the energy field - log out - log in trick. Same for the front entrance of LB's castle and the SL crypts. 3. Definitely move strongholds away from towns. 4. Make the faction guards a bit smarter and tougher. Right now, any thief with a shuriken can kill them all. They never try to cure. 5. Make the stat loss timer decrease by 2 minutes for every town held by your faction. Stat loss takes too long, and this would add incentive to hold towns. 6. Make stat loss decay while your character is logged out. It's really annoying to log back in 2 days later to find yourself still in statloss. 7. Make the lower faction prices only available to members of that faction. 8. Make any faction monster, anywhere (ilsh, SA, etc) orange so it can drop silver etc. 9. Expand the ranks of faction monsters. For example, SL should be all demons and undead, Minax should be all humanoids and ratmen, TB should be all fey critters and the silver serpents, COM should be all spell casters, mages (such as evil mage lords), wisps, perhaps elementals. Many of the champ spawn bosses should be similarly faction aligned. 10. On Siege, make faction armor, weapons, etc decay quickly (for example give it only 10 durability, and not POF'able). 11. We should be able to conjure faction monsters from our faction to help defend the base. They should have extra longevity while in the base (say 10 minutes). Perhaps costing silver. 12. Allow the town faction silver to be easily transferred to the commanding lord, and vice versa. just a few ideas. Flame on!
