So I have a Keep, my only home, that has about 99 of its 3622 storage spaces left. It is time for fall cleaning.

I have various items that I need to purge. Anyone have to do this recently? Any tips you can give me? I have so much crud I can't see straight.

First say, "I wish to place a trash barrel"

When the trash barrel appears, start to put stuff inside. It will go away and never come back. Though now that the little cavern of the discarded exists, I'm more likely to just dump it on the floor of my house and let it decay... but it's totally up to you how you actually get rid of it. Vendors work too, if the stuff you're hoarding is useful.

Unraveling junk armor, and especially jewelry, helps a lot :)

There's a permanent cleaning system. 2 actually. Imbuing and trash cans.

Get organized! I'm assuming you have various chests of stuff probably located in various areas. Open up notepad or word or something and go thru the chests methodically and write down what you own. When you are finished you can look at the list and organize what you have by what you use all the time, items that have value but you don't use (rares) etc. I will put ingots leather bone wood peerless regs gems all in the same box for example. That is the easy stuff.

For harder stuff like weapons and armor get some leather bags and put them inside your larger containers that you use to store these things. You can do it by character or by item type. For example I will have two bags for items that are armor that has high resists, so I will inscribe both bags "High resist meddable" and then put gorget, headgear, arms, and gloves in the top bag and then tunic and legs in the bottom bag. I do this for resists, nice LRC pieces, for luck I just have one bag I throw them all in.

Jewelry is a little tougher. I save one ring and one bracelet each where they have +15 skill on them. This is no longer so important now that we have imbuing, so organize how you use stuff and not just "this is great so I'll keep it but probably never use it." If it's great but you will never use it unravel it or sell it or trash it.

Most people have items they decorate with that waste time to throw away and have to remake later. But you don't need 50 benches unless you're planning a rune library down the road. Toss most of the furniture and put the rest in a single chest with your un-makeable add on deeds (tapestry, flaming head etc). Put your interior dec and house placement tools in here as well. This is your deco chest, if you never deco you probably do not need it.

Toss or keep by how often you do something! If you have been saying for two years "I'm going to spend a weekend digging up 20 chests" but havent' done it then you probably have lots of treasure maps taking up room. There are those dudes in Doom that drop tons of level 2,3 and 4 maps. Level 1, 5 and 6 maps are a little tougher to get. However 1's drop plenty with fishing and 5's you can get fairly regularly from high level pvm. I would save 20 level 5 and all the level 6 maps at a time. If you have over 50 level 6 maps you either need to dig them or sell them. Thanks to the marty in the chest and unraveling you can get a little gold for them.

The rest of your maps turn into the library t hunter guy. If you aren't going to dig them up, you aren't going to dig them up.

Xmas gifts are something else that are tough to part with. However very rarely do these suckers appreciate in value. Save a few to deco with and toss/sell the rest. I kept two of each facing and color of stocking, a few canday canes, a few roses in the vase, etc. Try to limit the number of xmas deco to 1 chest. No one needs 50 snowflakes. Save a pile of snow for every character if you dig the snow thing and put it in their bag.

I hope some of this helped. I love organizing, I would do it for you if I could. :p
