It's been fun, I am leaving Pacific and playing on Europa full-time and plan to do news reporting there. I was hoping the Pacific community throughout the years would recover from the trolls, flames, and rants which have extended for too long now. The lack of a working community can ruin a MMORPG for someone. Pacific is the most anti-social and hateful shard that there is on UO, this is from my point of view however.

So therefore, I have decided to move to a better place with a thriving, realistic and friendly roleplaying community.. A friendly community in general, in both PvP, PVE and RP. I will be transferring to Europa full-time.

When I get my computer back, I will be leaving this "Pacific Reporting" stuff behind, I know I didn't do much reporting, I apologize. And I will be speaking with stratics staff to do reporting on Europa. I am a avid roleplayer over there and love their community, I feel like I belong here.

    Farewell,

    Palin, Xug'Klerg, Velvathos, Pheragas

First, I wish you well in your endeavours.
Secondly, I agree Europa has great RP.

But lastly, I have to cry foul, on the statements about Pac as a Whole.
I play all over. Pac, while insanely competitive in pvp, has a lot of great players.
I enjoy talking with Gemma, posting and tirading with Bloodraven, restroom Cowboy, and even Tesla.
2 radio stations have grown up around Pac over the years,
1 still around today, (hi Flash, Hi Mikey!). Right after Hurricane Katrina, Pac held a series of 6 auctions, over 6 consecutive days(gotta be a record), proceeds brokered to cash, and donated to relief efforts.(when gold was about $6 a mil).
To say Pac is hateful is more narrow minded than I care to read from a reporter.

Wow, two honorable mentions in the same post! I don't think that has ever happened.

Mikey and Tesla! I'll take it.

I have to agree with what Hakeem says. There are some really great people on Pac although roleplay is pretty dead here. But what you could have done was organized for more roleplaying by making events. I remember you making that post about capture the flag or whatever. That was a genuinely good idea that was just not carried through, and you have to carry it through to make anything happen. I do hope you have a great time in Europa in this group that looks like it's very organized and creative, but hopefully you come back every now and again. There have been a lot of people I know leaving RP guilds and xsharding for roleplaying shards.

Honestly Tesla, I get you. The world needs 'bad guy Wrestlers'. I loved Andre the Giant as a bad guy, when he went 'good' it just wasn't the same.

Tesla (opposite) Gemma. It's like Randy savage vs Hogan, If Tesla was ripped on roids, and hogan was funny.

It's funny... you hit the nail RIGHT on the head. I have watched wrestling for 25 years since I was 4. It's the ONLY drug I have ever even touched.

Some friends who are indy wrestlers, call me a natural heel... It's like a car wreck that you can't look away from. By the way, watch for my sister moving up in the ranks... Christina Von Eerie look her up on Youtube.

Hmm.. I may have been a little bit mean in my post towards Pacific.. I should know better.

I did meet a lot of great and interesting people on Pacific throughout the years.. But there is a lot of greed as well, mostly coming from the PvP community..

Giant Trammies often think people who reside in Fel or PVP are greedy and rude and mean.
Some of the best people I know PVP. Pac is becomming a big PVP shard and if that's not your cup of tea, then yeah. It's better to transfer.

When my acct was hacked years ago, and i lost everything,
Rand Al Thor, a member of an enemy guild, was the first guy to toss me many mils worth of equipment to get going again.. Most trammies think you're trying to scam them if you ask them for a gate..

I wish you all the luck Velvathos...but I do ask before you go that you consider the boards to be a seperate entity from the game for many of its people.

Back when I played, some of the nicest folks I knew were red. Sure there was an occasional jerk, but for the most part the Felucca community were some of the most honest people on Pacific. I don't know many currently in the pvp community now, but you should not label an entire shard based on your experience with only some of it. Don't be quick to blame others when it takes two to tango.

    Good luck on Europa.

  23. Rand Al Thor cross sharded alot of stuff for me from ATL multiple times, very nice person, TY Rand

Its clear there are many bad apples in Pac Fel, but there are more trustworthy ppl here imo, when I left tram and started pvp with CD, I made strong ties with tight folks and have met many great ppl along the way,

IT WOULD be so cool if UO would have a universal BATTLEFIELD where shards could send teams to compete against the other shards and then we could all be on the same team

I don't understand this debate between who is a trammy and who is a pvper.. I consider myself as one thing, a roleplayer.. I play through out tram, fel, you name it.. I will do PvP, on any facet.. But I like roleplaying as someone who differs from me, I like it when roleplaying is realistic, and I like the coordination and deep sense of community it takes to roleplay.. If my character gets in a fight, its cause there is a reason and story behind it.. Not because I think it is something to do for fun.. Roleplaying in the end, is fun..

The tram/fel debate came about as a result of someone making a comment about pac being the evil step child of UO so to speak.
Since the dominant voice of Pac is the pvp community on the boards where you are well known, it was a natural chain of events.
I still find it hard to believe thatthe latter portion of the OP was not nailed for an obvious troll.

It was in the first paragraph that he said that Pac Sucks. But I don't think it was a troll.
AND he was leaving. Well, should have left.

  31. and I want his position! :( So, if hes not leaving or leaving, I wish one or the other would happen already.

Okay, I keep hearing this 'evil step-child' thing, and I wanna toss my hat in here, once and for all.

Actually, I think Pac has had some rough spots in our history,
but generally speaking, We have achieved a stable, respectful, and welcoming scene. (at least, from a fel/pvp perspective)

I mean, look at last nights events: Chad lost to Kyrite. He then HUMBLES himself and admits defeat, gives a 20million$ handshake to his opponent, and goes about his business. Kyrite then loses to Orion, admits his defeat, and pays the 20mil forward. No questions asked.

We have respectful rapport between long-time enemies. Friends, respectfully killing friends. Wargasm, the GM of the Neo-FL, tells us what they are doing, and asks us, no, BEGS us, to raid them. (we did lose, and it was a blast) We talk, as friends, aside from things like this. He asks questions regarding stuff he doesn't know about, and I reciprocate.

I finally did give Setitoff the duel he has always wanted from me, respectfully. No questions asked. I put up a bit of a struggle, but in all honestly, the guy barely had to heal, and he put me under with ease.. as predicted. We shook hands. I said I respected his youthful talent, he said he respected my honor. Needless to say, hes not saying things like 'you have no place in fel' anymore.. Thanks set. Appreciate it.

I was looking for verite ingots the other night. Stu's sitting in the bank listening to me spam and asks 'how many you need?'. 20k? I replied.
He said 'okay, brb'. He came back, i handed him a mil, he handed me 60k ingots. I said. 'Damn man, thank you.' 'np' he replies. and we went about our ways.

I talk to Sargon frequently....NOT about UO. We talk about cooking omelets. We talk about UFOs. We talk about our home-towns. We talk. As adults. Enjoyably, and respectfully.

I play another video game which i will not mention the name of, with TWO cold-blood enemies of mine. We x-heal each other, and the pwnage is unprecedented. We then shake hands, and go back to killing each other.

I have mature rapport with Morgaine. Another member of an enemy guild, and a citizen of my own city. We talk about the weather where we live. We talk about UO. We talk. We do not hate.

I talk with kyrite. About his broken arm, about his amazing gear, about many things. He has never said anything disrespectful to me, or my clan.

I've even started talking with Chad. Surprisingly, his humor is rich, and extends far beyond UO. Also startling, his real personality is nothing like that of his personality in-game, and on-board. Though I hate playing against him, hes not a bad guy. I am currently working on a new sig for him.

I guess, what I am saying is that people need to differentiate what is hateful trash-talk, and what is just 'UO trash talk'. Yeah, all of us will exchange some harsh words regarding the game from time to time. But aside from what we WANT people to see and read on the boards, we are respectful, and courteous to each other.

If you want to know what I REALLY think:
I think there are three people specifically that cause a lot of this 'bad' drama, and give our shard the bad rap:

    1. Tesla. Tesla angers people. He does it on purpose. Tesla has a way of making everything ugly and mean, and tends to bring out the worst in people. He lies, and then tries to deny it, but then admits it. Its a vicious cycle. I have a solution. We just need to ignore him. Not like, say you're going to, then don't. No really, it would be helpful to our community as a whole, if we all just followed through and did it. I shall be the first, as soon as I am done writing this.

    2. Hag. Hag has a hard time separating what happens in game, from the real world. She has a hard time understanding that we can HATE each other's play-style, we can HATE each other's guilds and methods, but that it doesn't mean we actually have to HATE each other as human beings. . She, IMO, is the source for much hate, and also, the source of many problems regarding her guild:
    a. the no return policy. Sure, asha might have messed things up in the beginning, but we have, for a long time, wanted to resolve the issue, and work towards more respectful policies with M/T.
    b. the 'hate policy'. Its almost as if her members have been trained to hate anything that doesn't wear their tag. Moreover, if it wins, its cheating. No respect for talent.. No letting 'bygones' be what they may.

Slave-Girl: Slave girl literally, with every breath, with her entire being, commits herself daily to making other player's lives a living hell. She has a very hard time, like hag, separating game from real life. Its even worse than hag's motto: If its in fel, it is an immoral peice of crap, and deserves to be banned, and their housed IDOCKED, and looted. Spamming about people's real life issues in the bank, just to try to get someone to say something bannable. The person is an evil demon, and IMO, causes great stress to our community.

All in all, and thank you for reading my wall if you have made it this far,
I think Pac has a great community, and our pvp scene is respectful and inviting. People just need to learn to differentiate 'pvp trash talk' from 'hate talk'. They also need to look at things from a more specific perspective:
WHO, is saying WHAT, to WHO, and WHY? Don't just lump us all together as a big hate-mongering class of real-life jerks.

Now in regard to the OP: I stand by what I said, to the man who exemplifies exactly what I have discussed in the aforementioned 'wall': Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

*sip* my coffee is empty. I'll go ahead and set an example, and place Tesla on ignore. Something I should have done a long time ago.

  33. SUPRsalad

    SUPRsalad Guest

Done, and done. My coffee mug is full again, and Tesla is now on my ignore list. I honestly suggest everyone else doing the same. Until he learns the virtues of humility, and respect, I'll not hear another word of his lies. Ever read his 'occupation' description? Case and point. Good bye Tesla.
