Gettin back in to some PvM and I've never used anything but a sampire or wammy, but I've never really done any peerless. Question is what are peoples favorite peerless to do considering the key process and difficulty vs. reward?

Difficulty vs. reward ratio goes to both Dread Horn and Medusa.

Fairly easy, and huge reward potential.

For a bit more challenge, Paroxy.

The rest of the peerless are just to be able to say you've done them.

Does the dreadhorn really take 1.5 hours to key?

how tough is dreadhorn themselves, anything to know? he poisons, do sampires auto cure his poison or just leech through it i suppose

The time needed to key dreadhorn really depends. Whenever I key DH I always get 2 sets. There are times when the first two Irk's I've killed have dropped the key. There have been other times when I went through 15 before getting the first key.

Gnaw's fang, bramble, blighted cotton are all easy.

The next step is to lure/leave Guile and Spite in Gnaw's cave. If you do that it should be pretty easy to farm Irk without too much luring. This will also enable you to aggro both of the spiders without fear of having guile/spite jump in.

DH's poison can go up to level 5 I believe, which Vamp form won't cure. You pretty much have to leech through it.

I've had the best success with Magic Resist (mana vamp) and Feint/LS spam with a leafblade. I can do it more quickly with Lumberjack and the AI spam, but the feint/ls route I never get below 3/4 life. Sometimes with the hatchet/AI route I'll miss once, DH will connect twice and get an FS on me. I've died before like that and it makes me nervous. Feint gives you that nice safety net.

Same experience here. With feint ,resist on char and a 35 ssi leafblade with 50 hsl and hla dreadhorn feels like a low level mob. Not the fastest way, but the easiest.
    Para Balrons are harder.
Really depends on char. On throwing whammy with the right tactics, stygian dragon is a joke, you just have to face the fact the you cant always avoid death because of the fear and teleport attack. With same char, slasher can be fun as hell ,but does take long.
My pvm ninja without necro ( but 120 healing/anat and tons of pots) laughs at navrey if nobody jumps in and does ae spells, same at dreadhorn. Sure other people got nice specialists also.

how hard is Lady Mel for a sampire to solo?

i'd imagine you need honor to pull the satyrs solo and kill them...

fey or repond slayer might work on the satyr... undead, mage, fey, or repond might work on mel?

beyond that im not sure what would be needed or what to do. is it possible for a samp to do lady mel?

Sampire definately isn't the most useful temp there. Mystic mage with some necro for corpsing is. 50sdi on my suit with fey slayer book fireballs for 120+. Go in, prep efield, cast efield, run back and prep hailstorm (two hailstorms and all satyrs die at once), drop another efield or two to make sure mel doesn't come out on you. Summon a colossus and cast away.

I do stygian dragon with necro mage though it s a 60mins+ fight (depending on the resists it spawns with, I might even give up). I assume ranged dexxers should be successful (and faster) and also saw a video of a ninja who was doing it in no time. But best imho is to go there with a few friends since more people just means more artifacts will drop. It s much better to kill 3 in one hour with 3 people than one in hour with one people.

And about melisande, and any old school peerless, it s a waste of time doing it without a luck suit. (but of course you can try to solo it for the challenge).

I'm pretty sure luck doesn't affect chance of a crimson cincture or peerless specific items, and it never makes loot not suck for me, so in short, lolno

When I do meli in luck suit (2600 luck), I get 10-20 relics out of it, when I do without luck suit, I get 0-5... In luck suit, I get many uber weapons and jewels (550+ intensity).
Now, you are free to not use luck, but without luck I never got anything worth it... Obviously, you may have the RNG with you and get something without luck, but luck will drastically increase that odd.

Allegedly. I have 0 faith/stock in Luck. I used to do dread horns and switch out to my 2k luck suit once the mob was redlined and joust it to finish to get max luck. I never noticed a difference from when I did it without switching suits. This was also pre-imbuing when monster loot could actually be used.

I had absolutely none either until I extensively tested it... Obviously it s only upon the course of many peerlesses you can be assured of a difference. I now consider any peerless farming a waste of time without luck. And yes, Bushido luck stacks with armor luck, as well as statue, sphynx etc... Though the more luck you have, the more it takes to actually make any difference.

Did I read before on one of the five on fridays that having too much luck is actually detrimental to the formula and can screw up your loot?

If you read that it would be interesting to provide a link to your source and the value of luck above which quality and quantity of loot would lessen.

And I've tried using a luck suit on my tamer for Melisande (granted it was a long time ago, before SA, I haven't played any character recently), but I got jack **** from it. No difference whatsoever, still the same crappy items.

I ve just done a meli tonite (2490 luck on that character), and here are some items that dropped :

    572 intensity

    570 intensity

    A good talisman

A good shield, once (if...) enhanced.

overall 8 500+ weapons, and 12 more 450+ items. Armors never worth keeping anyway since GM crafted get 20+ free resists.

Irk (properly named) is the only issue with collecting keys quickly. He heals up fast, so if your damage output isn't constant, he is a hassle. He also teleports around, which could cause you to run into named spiders, Spite or Guile in the process... which never ends well.

I found that luring him to the pixies at the entrance will have him dead in about 20 seconds, as they don't like him either!

Luring him there might require some creativity though ( stealth caster with summoned daemon in tow, tamer with monster ignore on, or a tough warrior who can handle everyone on the path targeting him/her ).

Dread Horn is pretty ineffective vs. Mystics Stone form. He only poisons me 1 or 2 times in 20 attempts when in stone form.
