The demon lord IxaKaz is known by at least two other names. One is Ben-Tas Jux-Lem, the other is merely V.

Regardless of what we call him, his forces have taken possession of Magincia Island. His armies include the Bane Chosen, Bane Dragons from the Abyss, and a horde of demons. They seek to prevent us and our young lioness queen from rebuilding. And we know that their evil ambitions won't stop at Magincia.

They have already taken our lioness's husband prisoner. Soon they will seek to initiate some of us fully into their order. No one is safe.

Sadly, I feel that the time to defeat the vile forces of V has not yet come. But this doesn't mean we can allow them to again tarnish the jewel of the oceans, Magincia, unpunished.

Even if we can't dislodge them yet, they must hurt. They must be bled, as they have bled us, as they have bled Magincia. Some of us have fought for the city individually, or as small groups. This is commendable, and it should continue, but it is not enough.

This Saturday (October 30) at 8pm Eastern Time, I will be leading the First Campaign of the Magincian Crusade. The campaign will gather at the Nameless Rune Library south of the Yew Moongate in Trammel. The coordinates of the banner are 70-35 North, 40-25 West.

We will follow a simple battle plan which I will outline on the night of the campaign. I do not expect that we will be able to dislodge V's forces, not on this first campaign. But we will, for about 30 to 60 minutes depending upon conditions, simply kill as many of them as we can.

The Divine willing, other Campaigns will follow, and the Magincian Crusade will continue until we win, or we all die.

Ancient texts tell us the following of V and his evil forces: “Pride attracts them, ruin encourages them.”

There can never truly be ruin as long as we fight.

    Join the Crusade.

    Out of character notes:

Basically, we'll meet at Martyna's rune library, then gate into Magincia and kill stuff for about 30 to 60 minutes, or however long we feel like collectively, according to a particular "battle plan."

    That's really it.

The Crusade will have a nice and simple start.

I'll try and get someone to be in charge in the event that my connection dies or something stupid like that.

If this is popular I'll lead more campaigns until the event cycle(s) finish.

Be aware that not everyone agrees that V and IxaKaz are the same villain! Some think they are 2 villains who work together and share resources. That part of the announcement represents Galen's point of view.

    Just a reminder about this.

Saturday night, October 30, 8pm Eastern/7pm Central. (Note, that's an hour earlier than many shard events.)

The First Campaign of the Magincian Crusade was a success.

The enemy has taken note of our Crusade and greeted us with additional forces, but they fell to our blades and spells, as the standard occupiers fell.

    Many thanks to everyone.

Out-of-character note: Thanks to everyone who came out for this; I am pretty sure ours is the only shard that's had any kind of player-led counter-attack. I was glad to see a good turnout. Special thanks to the Event Moderator(s) (not sure if it was just EM Malachi or if they were both around someplace) for beefing up the defenses.

Certainly hope we gave them something to think about!

Certainly I had to think about meeting any of those nasty hounds again.

They were very nasty.... but I do like the bloody sash!

(OOC: Thanks Galen was certainly fun and thanks also to the EM's for making it yet another awesome GL's Event!)

I guess it's been longer than I thought since I came to these boards. I'm sorry I didn't make it to add a feeble spell or two, or a cut here or there, for the liberation and freedom of Magincia.
