I've been on siege for two weeks and here is what I think:

    1. Not nearly as dangerous as some say. I've seen one red and he paid me no attention.

    2. ROT sucks.

    3. Global chat isn't annoying like on other shards.

    4. No recall/sacred journey limits solo play.

    5. One character is tough. I think I'm going to end up buying a bunch of soul stones.

    6. There is a huge demand for crafters.

    I haven't quit yet.

I've been here a month now, but have had limited time to log on.

    1. Have seen 3 reds so far - 2 didn't like me very much and I'm sure the 3rd one didn't either, but we were in Magincia. I even received a rez and "have a nice day"

    2. Skills are not quite high enough for me to say whether I like/dislike ROT. Need to try to log on more to get the skills up.

    3. Enjoy the global chat!

    4. Yes, lots of running around. Working up magery on my crafter so that he can gate, but the other toonis going to be stuck hoofing it I think.

    5. 2 characters isn't much better, but it does add a bit of variety. Will still need quite a few soulstones.

    6. Working on crafting skills for my second toon.

Have met some really nice players so far. No trash talk when I eat dirt. And have even been provided a rez and some advice.

Quitting hasn't even crossed my mind.

I have to disagree with no recall limiting solo. I've never had a problem for all the years I have played and its even easier nowadays with teleporter crystals.

And rot is ok, especially today with caps gone and alacrity scrolls for most skills.

Limiting was a poor word choice. It's a transition I don't like running all over the place.

IIRC once you get to the higher skill values, it's a lot faster than the non-RoT system.

RoT is faster at 80 on up. You can run a timer and step through the skills your training every time it runs out. It made training crafting skills much easier.

So far Siege has been fun. I've been here full time about five weeks. My shop is well on the way to set up and the community is great. :)

Get to know the public houses with house teleporters. This is how I get around.

Powder of Translocation is a popular item when sold at 100k per 100 charges.

It was selling out so fast I raised my price a bit which has pretty much stopped purchases, but I can now do more than gather zoogi. If you need to build up some gold, make friends with the solen queen and sell the powder. At 100k per 100 it seems to sell on sight. You can have a million gold in a week easy.

Yeah, rot sucks- unless you are training those really difficult skiils to raise- then you'll love it.
Reds- eh- love 'em or hate 'em, they're around, and make the game interesting and fun in my opinion. I learned that if you take it like a man (or woman) without complaint, you do usually get a rez and not dry looted. Usually.
Good Lord, yes, we need more highly trained crafters and more vendors. I LOVE shopping- and most times go home empty handed and sad

Just to add to this. I was able to create my character to be able to PvP and PvM within a few days when using an advanced character token. Such an amazing addition.

Siege was definitely fun when I played. I wish there were a lot of more people active.

There are a few more. Since getting out of NEW2 people have appeared for a few steps near me then vanished never to be seen again. Got to stop running to the Zento bank on foot.

Hello Caesar, good to see you. Siege is waking up again, slowly.
What killed Siege was the pain to replace items and not being able to fight people using factions gear. That issue is long gone.

Time has changed, only few run in faction gear now and imbuing is much cheaper now with changes to dungeons spawn. Relic now only cost 5k and all with an imbuer can farm them.
The community vendors in New Magincia is great for Siege as they are player runned and can both sell and buy resources.

As NEW went down, when Shalimar had to stop playing, I restarted it as NEW2, to help Siege getting new blood.

If you comes back, we have one more, ready to PvP with the great reds we have now. We do also have active faction players, both reds and blue.

Hey Freja! That's good to know you have NEW2 is continuing. I know its hardwork getting people up and going. So these new gears that drop allow an enchanter to collect relics from them in order to create more useful gears, etc? Very nice! I guess I'll have to get my Imbuer activated. =)
