I have been fishing today and was thinking, how great would it be to have Sea Serpent bait?

This would be a nice addition to the fishing, but I find old school 8x8 still works well for fishing up serps, or 12x12 if using one of the galleons or fishing ne,nw,se,sw method, you just need to find a good run. for example running north-south between Skara Brae and the server line.

I tend to get "fish are not biting here" when within 8 tiles of a server line (more often on the West side of North/South server lines). As Fishmonger quests take a long time to complete due to sailing every which way around the world I do not have time for the old style 8*8. My current set-up (using Pinco's UI) is a macro that uses "Target By Resource" with a fishing pole as the tool, water as the target. I then run a ten second delay to ensure that there is enough time to actually fish since the fishing time takes between 6-12 seconds.

Now while sailing between cities docks, I simply run the macro, I fish up an average of 2 Sea Serpents an hour doing it this way.

So how cool would it be to get the fish finder from cove, throw on some Sea Serpent bait, and have a good, bloody time? Another way to do it could be to have a special pole/hook as a reward with limited uses, that lets you add fish you have already caught to it as bait for Sea Serpents.

Either way, I think it could use some love.

how about a random reward of a segmented part of a sea serpent and you can lock them down in your house and they can connect and make a long serpent deco in your house. there could be say a straight, curved, legs, head, tail and each piece rotates.

Never said fishing could not do with some love, to be honest fishing and the seas could do with a LOT of love, sure we got the high seas booster pack, but that only expands things it a little compared to the land expansions and boosters.

I normally fish north-south about 20-30 tiles from the small island west of Skara, get one serp every 12 tiles, usually within 20 casts, and the serps are always in the same spots, I have a macro setup same as you, repeating 10x run it twice, get serp move on, simples :), normally get a MIB or net with the occasional soggy map, net I normally toss there and then, and get a MIB from the kraken most of the time.

As for the server line I normal do that when i need to restock shore fish and if you position the boat right you can do deep water fish or lobster traps as well.

Deep water Depth ExPot. Toss it in and "BOOM!" random number serpents scared to the surface. Simple tweek to the net code for just spawning serpents. Fishing reward would be a keg with ten charges. That way can combine kegs and fill to 100. Or just have a guild party ....... 1........ 2....... 3......... TOSS.

    The Fishing Rewards could certainly use shaking up, it's true... Here's a few suggestions to add to the Sea Serpent trophy;

    A Void Parrot:

Every sailor loves parrots, so why not have a Void Parrot to go along with the Void Crabs and Lobsters. When mounted on a perch, it will eat boots and shoes (in it's void stomach) thus saving fishermen much annoyance... and potentially selling more Britannian Ships! A high end reward of course, or perhaps you could add Void Parrot bait at the same chance as the high end Legendary Bait, and you have to go unto the jungle and sprinkle it on a biscuit to have a chance to summon and catch said Parrot...

    48 Pounder Cannon:

The artwork for this is in game already, but it's not been used at all.

    Pieces Of Eight:

Coins that when dropped on any parrot cause them to squawk "Pieces of eight!" randomly for 5-10 minutes. A minor prank to play on friends. Medium level difficulty so as not to get too annoying. The coins stack of course, take note devs!

    Boots full of fish:

A special container that holds only fish, but have pack beetle sized weight limits; allows fishers to carry fish to and from their boats whilst using vollems or other traditional defenders from sea serpents... High level reward

    Charbydis/Osireadon Heads for Trophies:

When a 120 fisher casts the net or bait for these, they get a chance at the head too which can be mounted and the date, caster, and whether it dropped any artifacts (to anyone, not just the fisher) listed on it

Huge piles of cannon firing material:

    'Nuff said.

A Plank fer yer mates to walk off.

Ship deco, possibly only for Britannian ship depending on code, but shows mounted on the side of the ship, and anyone walking off it triggers a drop and splash animation (and they get teleported back onto your ship, or possibly your own home (it's a house teleporter in disguise)

I'm sure i'll think of more whilst bored and at sea... stay tuna'd!

Use EC tell your guy to fish 10 times, walk away for 10 min, come back and you'll have a ghost and a sea serpent. Works for me.
