FIX uogamecodes for good!

    I am SO sick having to buy codes from resellers for more cash than EA itself would charge because that stupid shop doesnt recognize my main accounts login data...
    I am online with that account, dammit! Since 10 years!
    Your shop just sucks.

    ...ok maybe that was rude, but this crappy shop really make me sick.
    Anybody know if 7th slot codes are emailed to me or applied directly to the account that buys it at the shop?
    Maybe I can use a second account that credentials the shop recognizes...
     
  2. The Knowledgebase you can access through the www.uo.com website includes an answer that lists how to order game codes through the Customer Support portion of the site or by phone. The Knowledgebase answer with this information is at Why am I having trouble making a purchase on <a href="http://www.uogamecodes.com" target="_blank">www.uogamecodes.com?</a> . I've successfully used the option for ordering through the Customer Support portion of the website a couple of times. Haven't tried ordering by phone though.

    Edited to add: If you decide to try either of these alternatives, especially the Customer Support option, you might want to mention that you've tried the gamecode site and can't access it. It might speed up the response to your request, although I wouldn't be surprised if the initial response you get is to try the gamecodes site. Just send a reply and let them know that option didn't work for you and you should eventually get the codes if you follow the instructions in the Knowledgebase answer about the information you need to provide in order to place the order. Your order will be charged against the credit card you use to pay your account subscription fees.

    I dont pay my accounts with CC.
    And I really dont feel making international calls just because EA is too stupid to set up a functioning web site - if you calculate in the cost of this call I can as well buy from any reseller.
    They should just fix their shop finally - I really dont understand why account credentials are valid to play and on the account management site and not at their own bloody shop [​IMG]

    Back in December, I bought the combo 7th char and housing storage increase code. It was mailed to me and then I could apply it to whichever account I wanted to.

    Although you're just buying the 7th char code, I *think* it would do the same thing.

    Just tried it, does NOT work either. [​IMG]
    Neither with IE nor with Firefox.
    This is really insane - my second accounts credentials are accepted, those of my main one are not.
    And they are 100% valid, I can log in the game and on account management no problem...

    EDIT:
    Just thought about it - and I might run into a big problem here soon!
    My main account runs out of gametime in about 2 weeks and since uogamecodes wont accept its login data and I dont have a credit card "linked" to this account as mentioned in the knowledge base article there is NO way I can get a new gametime directly from EA for this account.
    Wtf?
    Hey EA, do u hate me or what?
    Why do I need to go to some reseller with this account and pay more than all the others?

    Just a thought, but our older accounts, we have to type in uo_ before the actual account name ie uo_imustbecrazy (no this is not my acct just an example) in order to login into uogamcodes.com but our younger accts i can just type in the account name.

    Hope maybe that helps.

    doesn't work with my account or either of my friends accounts. Neither of our accounts work with UOG with the exception of mine that works with the alternative method used in the link above. But even after I successfully purchase the code, its never sent to my email so its still broke to me.

    Ok I guess I need some serious help then...

    This is what I get if I try with the same account name I log into the game:

    ...and yes, I did type in the password correctly I am SURE.

    This is what I get with "uo_" in front of the account name:

    ...so this account appears to not exist at all.

    I cannot call customer support because I dont have a credit card linked to this account as they request in their own knowledgebase article.
    So please what should I do next?

    yeah it is buggered... It still does not recognize my password either.

    The UO_ fix does not fix it

    The different "link" workaround does not fix it

    IMHO they just don't care...

    I mean think about it, I can login and play UO, but the store site does not recognize my password? How hard can it be to use the same system to verify our accounts? The game login works, the UO.com account page works... But the store does not?

    They obviously are willing to let people phone in and get it that way than fix thier site... It is patently obvious. Simple as that.

    So in short... Phone support and dont even bother with the useless gamecodes.com site

    Or pay by credit card. You can buy pre paid "credit cards" just like a gift card.

    LOL, its really ridiculous that they are not able to have
    the site work correctly..!
    Its really so hard to write some line of codes to make it work? [​IMG]
     
  14. Agreed. This isn't just any old minor game bug, this is a matter of basic competence. This is god damned humiliating for EA, or ought to be.

    It worked just now - I bought a gametime for my "bugged" account 10 minutes ago!
    I cant believe it, I did not change a thing on my end.
    And I am still 100% sure that I did not type the wrong password yesterday. Tried several times.

    Yesterday the store would not let me go past the login.
    Finally I gave up and bought a 7th slot code with my second account and applied it to my "bugged" account. So far so good.

    Today I was about to write a email to Jeremey as was suggested here but I did give it one last try 10 minutes ago - and suddenly it worked!

    Whatever I said, whatever changed - sorry and I am happy that I finally got a gametime to this acccount.
    I do hope there wont be any of these troubles when I need the next gametime in 3 months...

    www.UOStock.com is actually a bit cheaper then UOGameCodes , but they don't sell Gametime [​IMG]


    Ya can use paypal, or credit/debt card -- I dunno, just makes sense to me , instant service and cheap prices haha.

    Actually the joke is on us. Here we are the players thinking how humiliating this must be to EA/Mythic when in reality they, as well as the rest of the gaming industry and players have moved on. At this point it humiliating to us that we actually care enough about the game to keep asking.

    Ea's making millions of dollars, and 100,000 of us are happy... with a dev team that's actually working on stuff now, and trying to get input from us and changing things in a timely manner, ya got to at least give them a year before ya place judgement like that.


    Wasn't EA rated one of the most poorly ran companies? This isn't the fault of our Dev's that UO doesn't have the funding and support to garner the amount of money it's MAKING.
