Where can I find them? I went to lost lands looking for them this morning ( and found other fun ), but apparently they only spawn in trammel lost lands. Does Siege have any?

I also put some jewels on and tamed two fire beetles, if anyone is willing to buy from a murderer!

I want a pack of ostards for PvM!!!

There's just one spot, in Fel on prodo shards and on Siege where you can find them. By the river not too far from Minoc entrance.

I'll show you if you promise to keep your homicidal and larcenous tendencies under control :D

Thanks for the info... I'll find them.

The temptation to kill you would be too great, considering the infractions given me on message board! :gun::stretcher:

    edit:

I found one... and I mean just one. Only one spawns in the entire game at a time? I have to tame it, then leave the area so a new one spawns... times five! lame!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infraction

Infraction as a general term means a violation of a rule or local ordinance or regulation, promise or obligation.

    ---------------------

Infractions aren't given. Infractions are the violation of a law or rule. So If you violated the rule(s) in some way, and you get cited for it, you only have yourself to blame, infractor...

77.1 but that wont work really.

I use jewels to get to about 102 and I have a decent chance.

Yes only one spawns. Then you gotta go back through to the cemetary side, and pop back to tame another. And it seems they only spawn in dark brown there. I used to run 5 Blacks way back in pub 15.

Have you considered a pair of bake kitsunes? Fully trained, they are pretty fun, and if with a max of 90 fire resist, are great for killing demons. The taming requirements for them aren't much higher than frenzieds either. I used to enjoy a 5-pack of frenzieds until I tried a pair of these.

Unless of course you're just in a T2A nostalgic state.. :)

Bake Kitsune - 80.7 taming needed - avg hit points 330

Frenzied Ostard - 77.1 taming - avg hit points 91

bah! I can see your infraction record. As excuses go that's gotta be the lamest going.

Unless you're implying that I'd give one for actions in game, and I sincerely hope you have a better opinion of my integrity than that!

Infractions on this board are a direct result of breaches of RoC on the board. Always.

Never, ever, as a result of something that's happened in game.

My appologies... it wasn't you that gave the infraction count. I just must be remembering the several PM's aimed at taming me!! grrrr

I have no opinion of your integrity, but it would be fun to kill you nonetheless! ( but its fun killing everyone )

They are nice, but I want disposable pets for now, until vet skill gets high enough to rez them. ROT sucks sometimes. I am at 72 or so vet, so no sense in bonding anything right now.

Frenzieds seem like good disposable pets, if I can get them more readily.

Anyone want to buy any designer colored Ostards?

I hear ya, but a thought.. I have vet/lore in the 70's right now myself, and use jewels to rez them when needed. It might not be a bad idea to go ahead and tame a pair for the stables to let them bond. By the time they bond, you should be able to get lore/vet to 80+ easily.

I hate having to use jewels, becuase they aren't guarenteed. I will continue to raise both skills as I am currently, and when taming gets high enough to stand on its own, I can replace one jewel with a +15 vet.

My stables are full of beetles, 2 blue, 2 fire....anyone interested?

I should probably be able to stun or peace the bakes before attmpting to tame, shouldnt I? They are mean.

The 5 frenzieds are working great, pack bonus dealing 32 damage per hit, they take out Gamans in 2 - 3 seconds, so I have 40 horns to restock my vendor in about 6 minutes.

You know... I always thought the problem farming Gamans was the spawn rate.
I can kill them faster than the spawn rate.
I wonder if the developers should give Gamans herd defense mentality?

Have you tested your birds upon larger monsters...?

When taming bakes...wait until they change into human form. They only melee in that form, and can easily be outrun when you are mounted...la

If anyone wants a bake kitsune, just holler. With a dark wolf, I never fail to tame them on a first try, and I live just down the street from their breeding grounds.. :)

Yeah...that's why it still takes about 6 minutes to get 40 horns, I have to wait for more to spawn or travel great distances to find a few more.

I haven't tried other monsters yet, but they did easily kill the monks that flag on me ( because of my low karma and being red ). I suppose a regular blue healer that casts would kill a few of them.

Herd defense? Like Elephants circling around their young to protect them?
The gamans are spread too far apart to act as a herd.

I suppose they should become aggressive if one in a 2 screen radius is killed, that would be effective, then they would all be walking towards you to attack, and you can disperse them with a few whirlwind attacks or withers, no need to hunt them down! :p

Cool, I didn't know they were considered wolves. I may have to put necro back on to tame a few.

I was considering it anyway, as it sucks getting trapped in a mess of 5 ostards and not being able to move, I could use wraith form.

LOL...I named one this for a reason.

My pack beetle, which I had since 2004, is named Stubborn because he also pretty much did as he pleased regardless of what I said, but the cute lil' gumdrop is SO much more cooperative, now that I don't play anymore, naturally. :p

Another thing you might want to consider, is that with 51 skill (or 50.7 to be exact) and a couple of +15 taming jewels, you can bond a pair of them. Just make sure you have the jewels on when you feed them both times, or maybe it only matters on the 2nd (bonding) feeding, but I now have a pair bonded, and 3x or 4x GM kitsunes on Rykus. Recently I've worked up vet/lore to 80 just so I can rez them, or can farm stuff almost like a real tamer.. :) It's a nice option to have for a variety of reasons. Looking forward to doing a little sigil defending at some point to see how quickly they take down a tamer on-foot with a greater dragon in tow..
