No way. Played one on TC, far inferior in every aspect, except as maybe a PvP tamer.
Yeah unless you're a tamer they aren't so special. Of course there are some gargoyle only areas of Ter Mur.

When flying it doesn't take up a follower slot. But on the downside you need 6-8 stamina regen, which is 4 equipment mods wasted just to survive.
Gargoyals can move at mounted speed with out taking up a slot... I think that is one of the benefits.
Oh I see full mage tamer, able to do the mounted speed mage thing with a greater at his disposal....
Ring of the vile 6 stam regen. New gimplate here we come! And gargoyles get 4 jewel slots so ya they can have max casting very easy. Ring of the vile, orny, etc etc.
so every old weapon i tried the gargoyle cant use whats up with that!!!!! i would love to be a gargoyle but my roxxer weapons wont fit in his huge gargoyley hands.

Very easy to acquire so it would be very easy to run a 50+ DCI mage without having to resort to faction items or expensive HOTL/Fey Leggings...
Ring, bracelet, neck, and earrings. All with mods.
So, they have an extra neck and ear slot?

Neck and ears with mods will be gargoyle only, or rather imbued neck and ears are gargoyle only.
They have 4 jewelry slots however they cannot wear gloves or hats. My biggest concern is unlike ninja forms, where you have mounted speed, you will be able to cast spells with mounted speed and a GD in tow. Also most of the gargoyle spells go against the targets resist. These include damage spells. So start training up your magic resist if you do not feel like getting owned by gargoyle mages. Oh ya and they have this nifty spell where they can store a spell, sort of like a scroll, except it is instant cast.....that should be fun. It has a 5 minute cooldown, but that just means you wait in your house in between instant death spell ability. And no words of power just double click it and click target, I am sure you can make a macro. Just label it "instant death macro."
Its going to be a brave new world for gimplates and a new round of this game sucks I am quitting forever.
Mysticism is gargoyle only too? Serves me right only testing with a gargoyle.
I don't believe it is gargoyle only, but I do think they get certain racial bonuses like elves and humans do.

Pretty sure that devs said ring/bracelet would be the only parts with the normal jewelry mods. Necklaces will receive gorget-type mods etc.
No, I will not change my chars to a gargoyle. If they give us a 2nd char slot... then yes I'll MAKE one, but hell to the no if they don't.
well why the f dont they have night sight dont they only come out at night??? and can they only hold garg weapons? and wasnt only elves supposed to do spellweaving.....
I thought I read that earrings wouldn't be allowed skill bonuses or anything that a normal helm couldn't be imbue with
Sorry, doesn't work like that, necklace and earrings will have armor mods.
Flying is nifty, but a regular pain, without good stamina regen you're out of stamina in about a screen and a half.
regular weapons can be 'converted' to a gargoyle equivelant.
The team *have* done their best to keep things balanced, don't judge whether they're overpowered or not till you're in possession of *all* the facts instead of just a few of them.
The real question is will there be garg necklace and earrings with non imbued resists, like a gorge or helm? If not, AND they can't have jewelry slots then gargoyles will be pretty dang hard to keep alive.
I for one think it was idiotic of them to not just keep all the slots the same. Gargoyles can't convert a lot of useful stuff, and I really see them at being at an inherent disadvantage gear wise alone. But we shall see.
To me it seems like they will only excel in crafting and in tamer related flying gimpery. Otherwise I see no reason to not be elf or human.
tbh I'm in two minds, I'd only have one for the imbuing success bonus, and I'm not entirely sure it's worth it.

Are gargoyles able to use necromancy? If you were in Vamp form, that would give you the regen to keep up, no?

From what I understand [someone correct me if I'm wrong] but you can be dismounted out of flying just like on horse/form.
So not dismount proof. And there's a delay to fly, just like mounting an ethereal horse.

That is correct, they can be grounded by using dismount.
There is an option in the craft menu to convert weapons to a gargoyle equivelant I believe, however they don't have the same number of weapons so it's possible it may not be an exact conversion in terms of weapon speed etc.
I will do some testing on this aspect and, nda permitting, get back to you on it.

Does anyone remember when Necro came out (double strike + pain spike = dead) nerfed
Spellweaving (any damage + wod = death) nerfed
I'm sure this expansion will be way overpowered in some way shape or form ( to ensure the purchase of it) then when 75% of the char are running it they will nerf it to zilch...lol!
I plan to sit back and watch and see what happens then make changes, I hated making all my toons Elves only to loath changing them all back! (save my tamer)
Either way I'm sure it will give the player base alot to talk about!!!
I say we kill every gargoyle we ever see.
