[Arms Lore] geez, the last few points are taking forever

Discussion in 'UO Craftsman' started by imperterritus, Nov 3, 2009.

  1. My archer/bowyer has 100 bowcraft and 96.1 arms lore. He just got that last 0.1 after approximately 150 attempts, using the Arms Lore skill directly. I don't know if it would go any faster if I was making bows and hoping for indirect skill gains. They seemed really slow that way also.

The other day I tried to get the Satyr trick to work, but he kept provoking foes on me, and never seemed to discord me. I couldn't shake the aggro, either. If I left the zone and waited a while, then came back, the provoked foes were right back on me.

So right now I've got a macro set up in the enhanced client that will execute Arms Lore 30 times in about 60 seconds. I'm typing this msg, watching the game screen for when I need to restart the macro. Hmm, there may be hope yet -- 3 ticks since I started typing. I'm up to 96.5 now.
  2. Sheesh, ok, it wasn't forever. I've been at it since a couple hours before the first post, and finally reached GM Arms Lore now. Finally, he can make bows with 40% DI. (Hated to have Chippewa's name attached to 39% DI exceptional bows!)

Each iteration of my macro would cast Holy Light, then do an Arms Lore check three times. The enhanced client lets me repeat this 10 times per button click; with the delays I had in there, it was about 70 seconds between clicks. Sum total: in addition to 14 points of Arms Lore, Chippewa got about 11 points of Chivalry and 12 points of Meditation. I don't usually focus so long on getting a skill maxed out, but it did feel good when it finally happened.
