Ok, I saw my first giant turkey today, which had nice art anyway. So decided to fire an EV at it...well, that just got dispelled and I got teleported to it and insta-killed. Yay, fun.

Oh well, I thought, got ressed, but then when I was equipping stuff again, my insured ring was missing. I checked my bank and I had plenty of money in the bank.

Oh great, so these new stupid additions have a chance of removing insurance. When will they ever get around to fixing the insurance bugs.

    So freaking annoying.

I didn't have the insurance removed, but my imbued bracelet was hit by the insurance bug (the only item that was) when I died to a turkey, a couple days ago.

    Happened to me last evening.

An imbued Gorget, which similarly, didn't have the insurance removed and was the only item that did not show in my pack when I died to a turkey. I made sure and certainly had enough gold and checks in bank.

I had checked my entire pack, but it did not appear until I clicked my corpse. Wish I had had the presence of mind to (?hold control?) see if it was on my corpse, and not just 'invisible' in my pack until I opened my corpse and it appeared back on my neck.

Can't say that I've seen this before, that I can remember, but this event certainly has me dieing a lot in quick succession so it seems it was bound to show up. I've had way more lag for the last few weeks, so I have suspicions that the lag, for me, may play a part.

I've had insurance removed, small ring(+10 magery), and a skinning knife (ssi,46 dispel), I use them somewhat regularly, is why I noticed. has happened twice to the same items, both times were pre-event and not a gold issue.

Interesting. This happened to me just this morning with an imbued ring. I looked everywhere for it, moving all items in my backpack and it wasn't there. I closed out my backpack, opened it again and looked through it once more, just in case that did the trick, but it still wasn't there. After I got back and clicked my body, it showed up on my paperdoll.

    My ring was still insured.

I don't think lag played a part in my situation.

Had it twice the past 2 days to a Turkey.. Did it to my cloak both times. Once reequiped the insurance tag was missing so I had to reinsure it.

I've also had leather arms that were insured taken by a very angry Turkey.

Its very annoying, because that was a rare ring that had stronger properties than possible to imbue. (and wasn't imbued)

And honestly those turkeys are quite overpowered. Not really all that fun.

Well, at least now I can say I didn't lose my talisman because I'm an idiot.

There's an actual bug to go with it!

By the way, anyone have one of them green poison tally's? Mine up an' vanished without warning.

I also lost many many items to that bug in my short months of playing.

But I'm beginning to think people are right, why bother when you can play SP.

Laugh it up, fuzzball - the same thing can happen to Siege-blessed items.

    So, you're not immune.

Why haven't they fixed this bug yet. Insurance bug has existed for ages, yet still they've done nothing.

This ring is irreplaceable, as it was quite rare. Totally blows to lose it.

Because it is nothing they can reproduce to fix it.

They could rescript it in an intelligent way...

I have studied object oriented programming for only a few years and I know better ways to safeguard an object than a silly flag.

I don't really think it is necessary to fix it now.
The ones who could not live with it quit long ago, the rest lives with it and waffles from time to time

    Thats also true...

but I think the most ironic part is that I was presented with UO's scripting language when I was supposed to become part of the seer team, because they wanted me to script a few NPC AI's (its long and boring) but its extreemly easy.

Anyone remember the first kind of program after IRC, it was called the palace ? It had also this nicely made programming language that makes it intuitive to program. Oh you could not make anything you like, but pretty much.

On my own, on my spare time and for FUN, I could fix most of UO's bugs and eliminate 80% abuse potential of some scripts with a neat little script that is client sided, but unhackable due to a nifty feature that was inspired to me by BitTorrent.

We all know the insurance bug has been around forever, nothing to do with Turkeys.

The thing that astounded me was that anyone actually died to one of them...

Yeah it's a bit ironic lol... but if you're not attentive they can kill someone not so experienced pretty quick.

The thing that astounded me is that when I offered to give my anti-hack script to EA the official reply I got was that because of me they could not use it anymore because I would sue them for using my idea.

I'm ready to sign papers authentifying that I give them the idea if needed, but they just ignored me since then.

Cal and others, well they've been ignoring me for my issues with gamecodes and this too.

I still haven't been able to upgrade to SA or high seas... even if I paid for it.

    It is becoming beyond ridiculous.

It's like I went to the store and brough a game with no CD in it and they reply to me : sorry you might have taken the CD out, we don't know. We won't help you.

They're fairly easy to die to, depending on character. As a pure mage, they're not good when they simply teleport you right to them and then gank you.

I dont want to say it isnt true, but i play now since AoS when insurance was released and i never lost any item.

Maybe it has something todo that i never played the 2d client, but strange i thought reisurance has nothing todo with the client.

Also i dont know what should go wrong in checking an item flag each death, you got 3 situations 1 not insured 2 insured and 3 not readable, when the third appeared you have to try again. But the data is serverside so it should be readable.

Interesting is also that the item isnt lost only delted and created in the corpse so it seems to be an iusse with the scanning function.
