The movie only had a few good lines.
Art direction was ok though for a cgi movie.

I actually think the dev team put these in there to give everyone a reminder of what a really classic UO feels like. One-hitters were quite common from '97-'99...

Shades of LS during Ironwill's reign...

    Disagree with that.

I have never seen one hitters till modern UO.

In Classic UO the fights were way longer; if you new how to fight that is.

ps. The glass sword blows; get rid of it.

They should introduce more lag, server crashes, and reverts. Mimic how it was like to play UO on a 56k modem in the 90's

One hitters were never a common occurence, in fact in all the time I did pvp from 97-2000 I was never once one shotted.

I fired off a PM to Cal the other night and I wasn't going to say this in public, but I guess it can't really hurt.

I snooped a pack at Brit Bank on SOTD the other night and saw two glass swords. Dude didn't like me snooping and moved away before I could screenshot it.

I'll be honest; you can get way more than 1 glass sword at a time. BUT only 1 of them works. AKA if they have 50 on them; 49 are useless. Just saying.

PS: I am ANTI-GLASS SWORD. (Read the poll below :))

I have always been against 1 hitters.

There were one hitters in the old days too. Or rather heavy hitters that could 1 hit folks in certain circumstances.

    Remember prepatch weapons? Bugged bows?

And it was really hard to train str (hp was derived entirely from str) and have it remain there. So the average hp for players was lower.

Still, these were nothing like the glass swords. Imho, it would be better if these could only be used in defense. Ie if you aggro someone, any glass sword you hold in your hand/backpack will shatter. So effective making these useful as a deterent against pks, but useless to pvp'rs seeking action.

Could be a way to control pk activities.

T'Challa - You may be onto something!

However, I agree... those swords need to go. Whether we are playing classic or modern day UO, one hit kills shouldn't be a factor.

Most one-shotters were created by "rogue" GM's...hence my reference to Ironwill. LS seemed to see the most of them, and they tended to be bows (the weapon style of choice at the time) altho I heard tell of them on Pac here and there (didn't play there myself)

I can attest to the fact that bugged one-hitters dropped as loot though. I had a warfork (LONG before dex affected swing speed, so before fencing was "cool") that dropped from a poison elemental in shame. Looted it myself. Ran the gauntlet from Brit to Minoc one-shotting every Dread along the way. Cries of "WTF!?" were rampant on the shard.

    True story.

    There is no else clause.
