Guild Wars 2 guild system will totally differ from Guild Wars 1. Current Guild Wars 1 players know, when you join a guild on any character from your account, all your characters automatically will be put in that guild you just joined or created. ArenaNet will give the players in Guild Wars 2 many options to be in multiple guilds on one character and each character you will have on the account. This is how the guild system will be set up in GW2. - Players will be able to belong to more than one guild. When a player logs in, they can choose which guild they want to represent. So any player can sign in, decide which guild they will be interacting with and they will see the guild chat of the guild they chose to play with. Which ever guild you choose to play in, you will only see the guild chat of that particular guild. If a player is a member of 4 guilds, they wont see 4 guild chat all the same time. Let me add that players can choose not to represent a guild or any guild they are a member of and just play solo or do their own thing. -Guilds will be able to work towards special guild achievements. Guilds will be able to gain influence when they do things in the game world.. Guild influence will be able to spend towards rewards which range from leveling items, storage, capturing keeps and leveling them in WvWvW and more. -In WvW guilds are able to take control of keeps and fly their flag in these keeps. Guilds can spend their influence to fortify and upgrade these keeps to make it harder for the enemy to capture. The guild system in Guild Wars 2 will be able to give players the option if they want to play today with this guild or another guild. Players can always just sign in and not choose a guild and do their own thing without feeling obligated to do guild things. So any player can play with their favorite character anytime in any place in any guild or not and just have fun.
