Prodo is here to stay. The game is, has been and will continue to be based around prodo.

Please incorporate your suggestions with that in mind. Try to keep the core values behind this shard (full loot, no safe zones, personal accountability, veteran shard, etc., etc.)

When you guys think of suggestions.. understand that your playstyle is important, but so are others.

For example: If there is a suggestion, do not say "WHAT ABOUT CRAFTERS" when it's about monster bashers as long as it doesn't negatively impact crafters.

Playstyle does not = stealther. Does not = dexer. Does not = mage.

Things like pvmer (monster basher,) bank sitter (socialite,) role player, pvper, crafter (merchant,) etc. are playstyles. A template you run is not.

The thing about current Siege and old UO is that Siege does not have or cater to all playstyles. Monster bashers have been **** on since AoS here. 99% of the loot on monster suck. I haven't seen what imbuings done, but sounds like it fell a little short even though it helped. Bank sitters, well freja wouldn't talk about cities in Felucca needing populations if these guys were around. Bruin wouldn't have posted if Role Players had their just deserts and neither would someone like Mo'Gluk who had to wear an orc mask and always be at a disadvantage.

I tried and now I see a couple others trying too.

    think about it.

We all have an over inflated sense of self importance. So good luck.

Meaning I pay little attention to you any more. Speak your piece as we are allowed. I give more credence to those that play Siege though.

I believe what he's saying is:

The developers will cater to their biggest money makers, the prodo shards ( majority rules ), so accept whatever changes they make to the game without complaint, unless it violates the core programming of what makes Siege, Siege.

The customer is not always right. Who fed you that line of bull?

Imagine if you're the owner of a grocery store, and a customer demands that you sell them product X for $3.00, when it is clearly marked for $8.00. Are they right? Do you really want to take a loss to keep THAT sort of customer? No.

That was a great blown out of context example...let's try a more down to earth example as i order a steak and i want it well done and they bring me something close to well done but i want it better and they take it back and redo it or charge me nothing...and wtf does a grocery store have to do with a online game?

Probably has about the same merit as a steak. ;)

The point is, a business shouldn't have to take a loss to keep customers, especially repeat offenders. Businesses keep track of customers habits now days. Wal*Mart for example will only allow 3 to 5 returns per year.

Some businesses will try to appease their customers and say," the customer is always right ", but those businesses are typically ones that sell consumables, and they will make up the loss in your returning visits.

QFT. One of my biggest problems can be employees who ascribe to this philosophy and have to be broken of it. 85 percent of claims brought against my business are bogus and of that 85 percent 95 pecent of those are usually flat out scam attempts.

    P.S.

wiping out consideration of just adding insurance to siege, I think Draxous' ideas are pretty spot on if you want to build and maintain population on a no insurance aos based server.

I would add one more suggestion and that would be to make dci and hci craftable armour props. Make them imbuable, available on monster spawned items, and runic crafted items. All the super suit are NECESSARY because of HCI/DCI considerations imo. Until someway is came up with for both the haves and the have nots to eqaully have a hit/not being hit chance we will continue to see the problems that plague siege.

That's ok Kelmo. You are a nobody. Thanks for your piece as you are allowed tho. Don't think I need to explain how much credence you'll get from me.

    Someone understands.

Siege will not get any kind of healthy population until all the people who make up the community are all catered to.

Draxous you need to start playing again, learn what SA added to the game.

Imbuing is great, not only for the crafters but also for the monster bashers as every piece of loot is useful now, even crappy items. Imbuers can use almost everything you loot.

When you compare the postes here with your old knowledge about the game, it do not make sense at all.

Did you get SA yet, else do it, it's worth it.

I do agree, it's about what is good for Siege not what is good for a little group.

BR, we have never seen eye to eye with the excpetion of Monster Loot, I supported all of the threads you made in an effort to improve the quality.

You are wrong when you say imbuing fell short, it is the most fun I have had in UO in a long time.

The skill is almost god mode, whatever you need, you just make. The fun part is you can aquire whatver you need by bashing monsters, in a way imbuing is like farming silver, what I mean is you never come up empty handed.

As Siege is so dead I have been playing with skills and decided to put Music/Disco on my tamer, first thing I did was make myself a jewl set with 26 disco, 10 music, 14 strength, 23 vent and 200 luck. In the old days this woudl never have been possible.

Regarding actual pvming, it is better then ever for two reasons, first when you do get the max mod item, yet all the skills are mismatched, you can turn it into a relic frag and second, when you get the great mod item that is one thing short you can simply add it.

I have no clue why Siege is the way it is, but I do know one thing. People can get thing changed, I have seen it happen many times. I think the problem is people are all over the place as to what to change...I applaud Kat for trying to boil it down to a few things that the shard can agree on.

Although it has not happened in my time on Siege but I think the EA has made Siege specific changes in the past.

My advice is take this time to work skills and build wealth, that will put you into a great position for when Siege picks up and if it doesnt, well then we are all going to be sad....

Your last paragraph in the quote is why I'm saying it fell short. There's only one way I know of to get max mod items and that's off boss drops (rare) or with 3000+ luck farming lady mel.

I think Imbuing is a great thing for crafters... for monster bashers, I don't think it did much to address the *sighs* from a player every time they open up a corpse only to find a few gold and bunch of crap in it.

Like who wants to explore anymore and tackle a variety of other monsters? Theres no reward to it. You go to specific spawns and farm the **** out of them. This is why we don't see people out and about all over the world anymore... and why we don't see pks out and about looking for these people. There's no reason for them to be here. None.

When the vast majority of monsters in the game are producing what is for the most part... 99% JUNK, there is an issue. When faction arties do not have an equally obtainable-less powerful counterpart (cursed arties/arties/marties/toks/etc.), there is an issue. When faction arties are too hard for any other than the elite to have a reliable supply of, there is an issue.

I'm glad you supported my threads. I really wish others would have too because that has been the heart of the matter now for years since bunny ears and hot pants... I'd even say before that with PBDs. Why we had those stupid no loot, non-faction wars. Why so many butthurt threads about PLEASE SELL ME BACK MY FACTION SUIT!!!!

If you can get the rest of the community on board, great. Otherwise... its going to be more of the same, which is less and less people wanting to deal with this bull****.

Just about everything BR has said in here I totally agree with, especially the intent of the first post. I would love things like craftable artifacts here (where you could add DCI/HCI to the items), but that is something that will take hours upon hours of dev time, something they WILL NOT do just for Siege.

My suggestion. When you ask for a change that requires dev time, you are MUCH more likely to get a change that requires 5 minutes of dev time versus 5 hours of dev time. Think how long it took us to get the devs to:
    Fix the pbd issue.
Fix the stuck at 90 resist issue.
Fix the sammy helm/ember leggings issue.
    Update rot.

So when you ask for dev time, ask for something simple. Re-introducing something that already existed in game (black rock zones), simply updating something that already exists (RoT times), siege in the shard list, etc. These things all are quick for the devs. Asking the devs to program some unheard of obscure thing that has never existed before? Fat chance of that ever happening.

And as for loot, I've always believed in order of preference:
    1. No uber items for anyone.
    2. Easily obtainable uber items for everyone.

I've given up on #1, so I'd like to see #2 happen.
