I am in need to locate what artifacts/items will give me the highest combination to raise SSI and DI at the same time as much as possible (what are the caps on these ?).

    Any advice ? Thanks.

  2. There is no artifact that gives a boost in both SSI and DI. There are however, several kinds that have one or the other on them.

    Daimyo's Helm- 10% SSI
Assassin Armor- 20% SSI (cost roughly 40mil)
Turquoise Ring- 5% SSI (possible on this ring, but rare to find)

    Stormgrip- 25% DI
    Gauntlets of Nobility- 20% DI
Gloves of the Pugilist- 15% DI
Ornate Crown of the Harrower- 25% DI

    Thank you for the reply.

It seems it may be hard to try getting both high....

One needs to settle on either one or the other it seems to me.

I wonder which is the best preferable alternative to have in PvM if one can't have both high: that is have SSI high or DI high ?

For example, is it better to have a slow weapon do lots of damage per hit or have the same weapon do less damage but hit more frequently ?

Are there calculators out there perhaps which can help making such a decision ?

  4. Hitting more often is always the best.

Take your example. Fast weapon (lower damage) versus Slow weapon (bigger damage).

Ok, if you swing over a time period of 30 seconds.

Fast weapon (1.25) swings 24 times.
Slow weapon (4s) swings 7.5 times (Lets make it 8)

Now out of those swings, how many times did you hit? Lets say it's 50%.

Fast weapon (1.25s) swings 24 times, hits 12 times.
Slow weapon (4s) swings 8 times, hits 4 times.

So basically, you would need to do 3x the damage with the slow weapon to do the same damage the fast weapon does. Remember these numbers are only for an example. But the basics hold true.

The best is to find a comfortable balance between damage and speed. And consider what it is you'll be using the weapon for.

Doom - for example - you can get away with a heavy thumper because your not having to deal with anything targetting you. Of course a lighter thumper that swings faster will give you more overall damage.

And probably most important of all is the ability to hit.

120 Archery + MAX HCI really helps.

This all depends on the bow. My 30 SSI Demon Slayer heavy crossbow does more DPS than a max swing speed Repeater or Magical Short. I've done the math on it and it's conclusive. The thing you have to remember is the faster bows are capped at a max swing speed while the slower bows aren't as they won't be able to hit that cap so don't have their DPS limited by it. The swing speed cap on the faster bows also caps the amount of DPS they can do, so if you have a sufficiently fast firing heavy crossbow with 150 Dex, you can more than outdo any of the faster bows.
