Hit Area vs HLA on a WW weapon

    I usually imbue Hit Area on my WW (whirlwind attack) weapons.
    The idea is: using WW I hit every mob around me and Hit Area is added to each hit damging several mobs around the mob which is hit. Is it true?
    May be it's better to add HLA instead to make it easier to fight vs 3-4 level of spawns?
    Do I leach life from Hit Area damage?

    Well i tried that too years ago. Dont know if anything has changed here. I realized that dmg from hit area effects is applied to ww dmg. That means you dont do more dmg just one part ww and the other part elemental dmg from hit area

    Example. You do 100 ww physical dmg. You have hit are fire that does 30 fire dmg. When hit area procs you will do 70 physical + 30 fire dmg

    After reading some posts my problem may have been a bug. I think i will do some tests here
