Where are you guys gettin your HCI?

I figure I'll be rolling with 2 imbued 15 HCI rings, but somehow I need another 15. And I want to use mace and shield, so no spirit of the totem.

Now that faction equipment might go away I don't really want to dedicate an expensive imbued suit to faction artis, so stormgrip and it's very nice 10 HCI is off the table.

Bane's legs are an obvious choice and they have sta too, but then I won't be able to incorporate Tinker Legs if I should ever be so lucky.

I don't wanna do heartwood any more, since that would require faction earrings to wear elf armor. Again, going with all non faction stuff here.

Gladiator's collar (and cloak of death) would be GREAT, and high resists too..... except they're so rare/expensive I'll never get one.

Maybe I am stuck with spirit of totem... ughhh

But in my mind, HLD 30 on the hat so I can put HLA on the weapon is invaluable.

This is what I know for sure I'd end up with, all other slots are "open to interpretation"

    Head: M&S
    Jewels: 25 DI, 15 DCI/HCI imbued
    Hand: Stormgrip (for DI)
Talisman: Conjurer's/Primer (Don't wanna use Conjurer's on certain spawns)

    Anyone else have ideas?

    15 on each jewel
    10 on talisman
    3 on elf robe

    sufficient.

    miner,

thanks for the search suggestion. i'd already kinda searched, though i did one through a luna item locator. it makes more sense to me to shop from what's actually available now, than some wish list of things i may never get, or are priced out of my range.

unfortunately i didn't see anything which would help me beyond what was here. it appears gladiator's collar may be the 1 item (along with cloak of power) which solves the issue. however, i cant count on gladiator's for 2 reasons. first its incredibly rare/expensive, ill never be able to get one. next, it'd be a replica and i believe you can't hit those with pof, so it would be destroyed some day. not good for a melee, better for an archer.

anyway, i'm curious where non faction sampires who use M&S are getting their 45 HCI... would like to hear what others have done.

    thanks

    Read my post again.

If you really want to be 45 instead of 43, imbue up a pair of woodland arms that have 5hci on them. Cap!

Believe me, I would be more than happy w/43 HCI

I didn't explicitly state it, but since I said I'd need to wear faction earrings to wear wood elf armor it means I'm human. And I don't want to wear faction items with that patch coming up in a while which will make my imbued suit null & void. Otherwise I would have hopped on that and been done with it!

Can't rely on the trinket because whatever is opposite of undead slayer (I forget) will beat the snot out of me, so I need something else to make up that 10% when I fight it.

Cloak of Death is a good suggestion for 3% HCI

    thanks

Repond... humanoids. Titans Cyclopses Medusa Ogre Lords Vermin Orcs and Goblins (and some others).
Medusa and Ogre Lords might give you some trouble... though they really shouldnt, and the rest are wimps.

Goblin Mini-spawn, Vermin Horde Spawn and Medusa are the only places i can think of where you'd be fighting large amounts of Repond. Not sure why it's so imperative, it's just 10 HCI

    ring 12
    bracelet 13
    Divine Fury 10

    but I also run DCI:

    ring 15
    bracelet 15
    Heart of the Lion 15
    Fay leggings 20

hmm k, well all that stuff miner listed (with exception of Medisa, or renowed goblins possibly) seems like its too weak for 10 HCI to be a problem

im not sure what ill do when i fight medusa, but I have not tried yet, so as of now it seems like a non issue. ill plan on 15 dci on the jewels, the conj trinket, and just bought a cloak of death. ill have access to LS also of course, but i like to use my weapon specials

thank you all for the helpage

I fight medusa, goblins... Actually EVERYTHING with my conj trinket on and have absolutly no problem with them hitting for double, gee's even medusa only hits for 50 with trinket on and thats like once every 30 seconds!! if you cant survive that then there's a bigger issue than the trinket and your HCI.

Why dont you go Elf? Its much more efficient for a sampire [ i play both and my elf is so much more suited to it than a human].

You get a better choice of armour and the extra mana, so you dont have JOAT but as a sampire i cant see any of the JOAT being usefull [maybe for some low lvl sampires who are not to good and/or need things like hiding or mana or even scrolls!!!]

  15. If it makes you feel any better, because of my suit setup the max HCI/DCI I can have without having them on a weapon is 38/43, and I lose 10 HCI when fighting Repond creatures such as the Barracoon spawn. When it comes down to it, by having the M&S glasses and at least 30 HCI you'll be just fine. I have found though, now that I've dropped Parry for Healing pretty much on a regular basis, when running spawns I can use one of my HCI/DCI shields so that I'm running 45/45, at least for the lower levels before I switch to either a daisho or runeblade, since I don't take a penalty hit for equipping a shield with Bushido.

Well I'm completely positive that 10 HCI isnt worth taking 50% more damage from Medusa. And wouldn't you be lightning striking her anyway?

    Conjurs trinket 10 hci
    ring of vile 15 hci
    leggings of bane 20 hci

Swap out leggings with a bracelet of your choosing
Also the new bloue cloaks (cannot remember their name) have 3% HCI on them plus dci and spell damage increse

In addition the new cloaks from ricardo quest may have hci as well ( I only have one of them, dont know for sure the other stats on the others)

    Gladiators collar is another choice

And lastly is have HCI on you wep +14-15 HCI

The trick however is not getting high HCI from non imbued items, but rater assembling an all 70s suit with high HCI and DI.

I agree, for Medusa (or any tough repond) I would swap in primer of arms, and then use my leafblade. Would either confidence/Feint, and then after she's feinted, either AI or LS

I've never done her so this is theoreticall..still fine tuning the char

  19. Sampires do not use Ring of the Vile....

Join factions, fix suit if factions items get changed.

That is what I did and wouldn't bother doing anything else.

Pre-imbuing I used a faction Ring of Vile! It was nice and cheap to use that, rbc, stormgrips, talisman, mace n shield, fey legs, crimmy.
