Hold off on the faction changes

    I wouldn't say that i'm entirely content with the faction system at the moment...however the proposed changes are just wrong.

    I'm not sure about other shards, but on Europa, 4 factions just isn't enough (maybe it's inherent that Europeans hate each other) I propose that each guild be able to create a sub faction for themselves, this way you would not have to be in an allied faction with anybody you didn't wish to be). So ok there can be 3 different types of faction horses and bases, but i'd like to be able to stat players who have joined my faction without my approval and i'm sure visa versa.

    And as for the faction equipment, on the conversion, please don't put everyone to 0, It would be better to allow everyone to wear the highest rank armor at first, then have a relatively high decay rate, otherwise it's just elitist.

    Factioneers should be able to use whatever factionarties in FEL with any rank they have.

    And I agree with 3 factions being too few, atleast for Europa.

    I agree 100% , I dont know where is the logic behind reducing the number of factions. maybe some DEV could xplain to the rest of mortals why reducing factions to 3 is so good????

    does what I do affect in any way the validity of my statement?

    second, you only help to justify my statement considering you have characters in multiple factions.

    third, when was the last time you killed anyone without help?

    btw...I was playing factions when your other half was still in grade school...erm wait...I meant diapers.

    What changes? I know there was a plan to kill one faction off, but I haven't seen any news on factions in awhile. Europa does have a lot of wars though. I always thought it was because you guys like to RP.

    I think the first question regarding factions has to be how many shards have active bases. That is, how many shards have people who 24/7. And for the shards that don't 24/7 their bases, why? Is it a logistics thing, a lack of playerbase, the fact that people have to sleep or work jobs...or is the set-up just not desirable (ie sigil timers)?

    As for the discussion on faction items, well ... if anyone could wear 9s, then a lot of people would just join factions to get the items, then never show up to play their faction in Fel. I mean, I know you can do that now with 1s, but...I don't know. I really think EA needs to somehow join PvM with PvP, and not like that dumb, "I take over a Fel town and you guys get to PvM scenario," more like the Bane taking the fight to Fel only. I know a lot of Trammel players will say no to that, but it would be really cool as far as player involvement.

    Enought to keep things balanced and not too many so all factions are full.

    Else you got guildwars anyway.

    I believe it was posted on here somewhat recently that the proposed faction changes are on hold until they can be redone.

    You can't guildwar with people unless they accept it, and i don't think you can guildwar with people in your own faction, why does 3 seem the magic number? i'd prefer 99.

    Mervyn, if you want to kill everyone who is not in your guild so badly, just play a red guild out of factions, then you can kill everyone without having to worry what faction they/you are in!

    Why is stat loss so important?

    Its the PvP your playing for not the griefing right? Or is it just the griefing you're interested in?

    Statloss is important because certain guilds are abusing the faction system.

    Certain guilds run around with 2 or even 3 different factioners in the same team. This means they generally allways have 1 or 2 players of the same faction as there prey.

    Added to the fact that for some reason people in different factions can heal each other its very difficult for the defenders to claim victory to the battle.

    Also noone would have rejoined factions if the faction arties hadnt arrived it simply wasnt worth it. Now to seriously pvp u need the faction items.

    How the current system is isnt right but the propsed changes to the system would just open it to even more abuse!

    Also Stealthers gaining points for Walking?! WTF's that all about?!

    Khal if your wanting to PvP, Statloss sucks, Statloss is only any good if your playing factions and defending the base. But no one does that do they!

    If all you want to do is PvP, then statloss only gives you short spurts of PvP. Separated by 20 minutes of people sitting there statloss out. Europa has so few PvPers that once 2 or 3 people are in statloss that's the PvP over for at least 20 minutes.

    Remember the days when we had hour long fights in despise. You would die res up and get back into the fight. Fights like that used to pull in every PvP guild and we would have some great times. Not anymore. You now get a 5 minuet fight then nothing for ages..then a five minuet fight then nothing again.

    But on a side note I see you're more interested in raiding blue non PvP players doing champs than going looking for faction fights! Is that so you don’t go into statloss yourself?

    One of the biggest complaints in Warhammer and WOW was the imbalances 2 factions pose. Those you can only either handle with instanced battlegrounds or set number of factioners.
    The overall consensus was that DAOC did it right with 3 factions where often the two weaker factions combine against the stronger one, making dynamic gameplay.

    99 factions would be interesting as I am sure on many shards people could own their own faction alone then, but it would be a waste of developing time.

    Not sure about the guildwar in your own faction, but I think you can still kill them?

    The faction changes have been on hold until they can make it good and approved by the faction players. Go take a peak at the faction forums.

    btw...lets see how much time you devote to factions when you have thirty mages. yes, thirty mages...on 20 shards.

    As far as I see it now factions are a crutch designed for ganks and greifing. I not only will fight anyone but I will also do it without the help of others.

    As far as factions...I have been in factions many times throughout the years...but the way things are now...its pretty damned silly.

    When a team is statlossed it doesnt mean PvP is paused for 20 mins. I have 5 PvP chars, and everyone in my guild has atleast 3 PvP chars, most have more.
    Which pretty much means if statted we bring another group.

    Still, this gives the enemy time since we have to run out, log chars out(timer usually), log new chars, stock, regroup, run back.

    It's still way different then being on nonfactioneers and just ressing up on battlefield and continue. This gives a smaller group better chance to win the fight. Without statloss the bigger group just instaresses and is outnumbering all the time no matter if you get some ppl killed.

    BUT I definitly get your point. I do remember times when every PvP guild and even solo PvP:r was fighting in Despice for loong time endless PvP ppl just coming back again and again and lots of fun fights.

    I dunno... Somehow I like this that you can actually put ppl to stat and kinda Win(or lose) the fight and the other team has to back up. While without statloss they can just keep coming. Thou that would mean more PvP and would prolly lure more people to Felucca, since many ppl don't like statloss, but they don't like fighting with lesser items either. Which I totally get.

    Thats all good and fine when you have as many as you do in your team, we on the other hand find it hard most nights to field 3-4 players. Before any one jumps on the band wagon and tells me to get more players, Europa has very few PvPers (around 20-25 PvPers) and what little they do have are all settled in there own guilds and have been for a long time. So when just one of our team goes into statloss we all end up sitting out the 20 minutes as there is no way in hell we can take on 5,6 or 7 of your team with just 2 of us.

    Same with GOD, they at best field 3 - 4 players 1 or 2 goes down, they too sit it out for 20 minutes.

    2.0 are the same lack of players....

    At this point in time the only guild/faction that has enough players to take on Minax/FEW are TGM/TB who are not real PvPers, although they do try!

    Unlike others I don't have all night to sit about waiting for everyone to get out of statloss so I can play a game, at the best i get around 90 minutes of game play a night, which can end up just 20 minutes of real game play due to sitting around waiting for people to get out of statloss

    Battles used to won or lost when the champ was killed, the victor got the spoils of war from the champ and that was considered victory.

    Statloss may be good for larger shards with more PvPers, but on a small shard as Europa its just cycling the PvP into 5 minuet bursts separated by 20 minuets cool down periods.

    As nice as it sounds having 7 chars in factions, but im sure you don’t die on 3 of your chars and wait until the next night you log on to sit the stat loss out. Most people want the stat loss worked off before they log out, and if you have 3 chars in stat loss that’s a hour you need to be logged in just sitting out the statloss.

    Anyone have a link to these changes? :O they on Test Center forum? Haha. I don't remember any notes on stealthers, that is absurd.

    Hehe well I have had even all my 5 chars in stats. I idle when doing other stuff I just leave my char to get rid of stats. I admit doing it afk such a crime :)

    Yeah it's tough one here... To get rid of this situation they would need to remove faction arties and that prolly won't happen.

    In this way faction arties are too strong, forcing PvP:rs to join Faction or being outmodded in suits. Which prolly drives people who don't want to end up in statloss out of felucca. And heck, if I was just starting PvP and I had only 1 PvP char... Would mean being statted MOST of the time you want to PvP, or being underdog not just by skills but items also.

    It's easy for me to speak For statloss since I have all those 5 chars and been PvP:ng long time and part of experienced PvP guild. But for someone who's new to PvP, has only that one first PvP char the curve is pretty freaking steep.

    Maybe reduced statloss time would be a solution that would please all? 10 min, heck I could go for 5 min. It would still give the other team a little break but not kill the action for too long time.
