How does Confidnece work?

  1. I've read the pre-release info from the Samurai release on Confidence, and know that things change and not often update, either here or on UOHerald. So, how exactly does confidence work? How much stamina and HP regen and gains? Is it affected by bushido skill over the min to cast?

    Here is the posted info:

    Special Ability: Confidence
    The Samurai is emboldened as he or she blocks an opponent's strikes, gaining hit points and stamina each time, while the Samurai's hit point regeneration rate is greatly increased for short amount of time. The Confidence defensive stance lasts for a duration of several seconds.

    The person that wrote the review seems to be fairly disenfranchised with the skill despite writing such an in depth guide.

    Out of all the Bushido moves he only gives Confidence and Lightning Strike a good review.... Hm
     
  4. Thank you for the link, that helps a lot. I know that I read the review way back when, but forgot where I saw it. I didn't understand how it worked or what it did and was using it ineffectively and at the wrong times.

    Mistura, I use momentum strike a lot depending on the spawn and can quickly leech back health and mana. Evasion not so useful since the excessive nerfing, and the others not at all. Counter Attack and Honorable Execution were very poorly implemented and could use some help... unless I have been using those wrong also. Right now I find no use for them.

    Evasion is HUGE. When PvpIng if you know you are the target of a mage synch, pop the evade and laugh as you chug a heal pot back to full life.

    Counte Attack is amazing too. Getting chased by moving shot archers? Chasing an archer? Counter attack and prep disarm or counter attack and prep para blow, if you parry a shot your spec lands.

    Couldn't agree more Lynk. I think Evasion, Counter Attack and Momentum Strike are all awesome and I use them freequently.

    Whirlwind is awesome in certain situations but in some cases it is not so good for example, if your fighting a miasma and your high in perfection and a Minotaur spawns, you can normally take the minotaur out in one or two swings with counter attack. In this situation, using whirlwind would be daft because it would be no where near as effective.

    Evasion is excellent for PvP as Lynk said but also its your get out of jail free card in PvM. It saved my bacon so many times when i've got into a tricky spot with a para balron.

    Counter attack, 440 damage in one second to high end boss anyone? :)
     
  7. I haven't PvP'd at all with my Sampire, so didn't know about using Evasion and Counter Attack there. I do use Evasion in PvM, but save it as a last resort since there is a wait timer afterwards.

    I'll have to play with the Counter Attack in PvM... I used it while training up Bushido and was not using it to its best advantage.

    Counter attack is awesome in vamp embrace format I've been redined before, popped counter attack, and landed my normal swing with lightning strike crit, then the counter attack hit immediately after with a crit and I was full life.
