How would one "return the rioter to his town"

Last night the Guard Captain gave the regular spiels about the rioters, along with the one about "Our jails are full. Kill the rioters if you must or return them to their hometowns." (something close to that.) I captured a rioter, but no idea what town they might be from. So I walked them back to the Guard, and he took him anyway.

    My question is:

*If* they actually activate the part where 'the jails are full' and *if* I don't want to kill the rioter, how are we supposed to figure out where they came from?

    Thx.

You return them to the guard where you get the rope in the town they show up in.

Kreepy is loyal to Brit but went to the Minoc raid this morning. Arrested a raider there then gated to Brit and turned him in, still gained in Minoc loyalty.

Raiders will probably be reds, and kill-able, not seen any on Europa yet, so not 100% certain.

Rioters are grey, kill-able but not advisable unless your after neg reputation in that city.

Blue angry protesters just want fed and paid.

Correct on all accounts Greywolf. Just had a few rounds with rioters on Atl in different towns. Town Criers will let you know where they are raiding. IF you happen to kill one of the raiders they seem to be the Executioners from Wrong but without the RPD effect. They do drop the upgraded loot they would in wrong anyway.

im not sure but i have noticed this
yesterday i was the only one working the town that i have choosen and i drop the 1000 gp on the angry protestors and i normally get a reply some thing like" a thousand blessings to you" if i try and give again the protestor wont accept moor , now today some one else is working the same town and i have noticed if he gives before me the protestor will still acept my gp but just sais "bless you"
so im assuming you only get the credit to the city loyalty if you are the first

any one else reached admired or further yet

there are other messages but i still beleive if they simply say bless you then you are the second one and will not get credit for loyalty just my thoughts

No special loot on the reds that I have seen, except what I said above. Have only killed two of them though, hoping for more loyalty for turning them into the Guard.

    *edit*

There was more to this post initially, but it was a misunderstanding on my part. That part has been removed, sorry for any confusion it may have cost.

so you go to any town crier and say "news" and it will say what town is being raided, if any?

To those of you on Europa, there's a rescheduled EM event tomorrow (thursday) at 8pm. We may see raiders then.

The npcs saying "bless you" almost certainly have been turned back to a standard blue npc, that is no are no longer protesters; I reported this as as a bug elsewhere on Stratics, and also commentated that we desperately need more spawn as for somewhere like Yew, there simply aren't enough rioters for more than maybe 3 people (2 grey rioters are spawned at any one time, and have to be found and arrested where they are, which could be as far south as the last farming hut, or as far north as being inside the walls of Yew Prison)

Yepp. Early this morning Atl's criers were giving false info of where raids were. They all seem to be fixed now. The last few town raids they announced were actually being raided. Now there are no raids, and the criers are all saying They have no news at this time.

dose killing raiders raise loyalty and if so can u only kill ones from your town

    so how does it work?

you go to a town that is being raided, subdue the raiders, rope them, then bring them back to your town's guard?

Whatever town they are raiding is where they need to go back to. If you are loyal to Skara and arrest a raider in Brit then take them to Skara, you will still gain loyalty to Brit.

Actually, that part of it makes sense. I am thinking that:
    - if I have loyalty to Skara
    - I am in Skara when raiders hit
    - I arrest raiders and turn them in (at Skara) [or kill them]
    - then it will continue to build my loyalty to Skara.
That's fine. I think the idea is that we don't care (right now) about the other towns - just the one we have chosen.

However, I do not believe that anything anyone has said above has answered my original question:

When the guard tells you that the jails are full and tells you to return the protestor (not raider) to their hometown, how do you know which town is their hometown?

I dunno but if you rope a rioter in Skara and bring it to, say, Vesper guard captain. you will get points for Skara

You don't return rioters..the rioters are grey and need to be placed under arrest with the ropes from the guard captain in that town.

The Raiders are red, and very painful! I beat 2 of them down, and at no point does it tell you where they came from..I'm unclear as to how to subdue and/or arrest them and take them back to where they came from...

And after I killed them..these were in Jhelom where the town criers said they would be...it said my deeds in the city of Jhelom are worthy of praise...I do NOT want loyalty in Jhelom...so I'm still kinda clueless here lol.

    Cute ;)

Yeah but like I said in the other thread I'm a bit disappointed.

    The Guard captain says:

*groups of raiders from other cities have been infiltrating our city and attacking innocent citizens.*

My thoughts on this is that you have to go get the raiders, subdue them and then return them to the city they came from....which is not the case, you just turn them into the city they are raiding..which is the opposite of what the guard says.

    I no likey :/ lol

    The Guard captain says:

*groups of raiders from other cities have been infiltrating **OUR** city and attacking innocent citizens.*

    (emphasis added)

Which means that if the raiders are not in the city you want loyalty in, you don't worry about it. If they *are* inside the city you want loyalty to, then you can go and get them!

I am confused about this too.

I killed many raiders in Brit last night, didn't gain in any city, not visibly.
