NOTHING I am going to say is with regard to speed hacking, so please don't even go there. I am NOT trying to advocate 'other means': I'm merely pointing out the lies that are always found in these sorts of posts.

Um, the last time I checked suicide is not illegal, nor is there ever given a significant effort to prevent it (unless help is sought after). And I'll stop you before you give me the whole "wow, comparing 'other means' to suicide is stupid" argument, well, in this case it works. If people want to "hurt themselves" then why is it any of your business? Or is it that your statement is simply a tactic to hide the truth?

Let's just remove this whole bull**** mask you people try to hide behind: the ONLY reason anyone dislikes 'other means' is because it lets other people do what you cannot. I've played this game for 7 years now, and not once have I ever met someone who refused to run 'other means' to train, gather resources, or what have you. More often than not the reason people don't run 'other means' is because they are not handy with computers. You can all cry morals this and morals that, but let's face it this is a computer game and if I can save some valuable time by running 'other means' in one of the most simply-written languages in existence, then you bet your ass I'll do it every time.

One more thing I'd like to clear up for you pvp-disabled trammies out there (as well as whiney, "but I'm the best how did I lose" PvPers), I guarantee less than 5% of PvPers run any sort of 'other means' while they fight, so let's just drop the whole notion of using 'other means' to PvP...it is simply a ridiculous fallacy. Now back to the point. You anti-'other means' also claim that you ENJOY doing these things by hand. If that were so, there would be no reason to go on forums and protest 'other means'. I don't see any models or athletes outside of the gym protesting fat people.

So, I guess the point I'm trying to making here is please, no please is not a strong enough word; I demand that if you are going to post on these forums then at least have the decency to be honest with yourself first, so then you may be honest with all of us as well. By the way, if you don't quote this sentence in your response it means that you didn't read my entire post and I will make you look foolish. Thanks.

If investing time in the game was so meaningful to these Trammies then we wouldnt have CRYSTAL TELEPORTERS, HOUSE TELEPORTERS, HITCHING POSTS, UO CARTOGRAPHER, UOASSIST, PET BONDING, BAGS OF SENDING, CRYSTAL BALLS OF PET SUMMONING, stop me if you see a theme.

What it boils down to is: I spent years learning to pvp, but really Im a cheater because someone who hasnt spent years learning to pvp got mad because I owned them.

This is just one big witch hunt, and Salem is about to be empty.

this is what im screaming, the ones i see crying on my shard are usually banksitters or or bitter because someone ousted them and they have no RL means of getting over it. then theres the quick to judge and quick to anger because pvp'er A stomped pvp'er B because they acutally learned how to use skills and not just equipment to beat them. i havent pvp'd since chaos/order was taken out, but im sure if we went "all out" and made factions playable in carebear town, the revolution will be quelled

Ummm, may I ask a question? How long have you played UO? Seriously ... because when I started in 1998, there was UOA and 3 or 4 other "assist" programs available.

UOA got legalized because the developer was willing to work with the game owners - cooperation. The rest decided not to do that. UOA became approved and was in quite widespread use (on Pac at least) prior to UO:Ren (Trammel birth).

UOAM (the original UO Cart) was also around then and in use. Again, prior to Trammel.

I guess my post went over your head. UOAssist is a program that assists you in performing tedious UO tasks, checking skills, etc. If trammies were so set on performing menial tasks and really "enjoying" UO w/out any assistance, then they wouldn't use UOA or any other "shortcuts" such as those I pointed out.

So what you're saying is just kinda, bla bla bla I've played since 1998.

yup - missed that little nuance. I use UOA for some stuff but not all. My main usage is just the organizer and sell agents with a few simple macros that now could easily be setup in the client.

and I've never used UOAM or Cart. Only 1 other item on your list is even in my house or on a character - the Crystal Portal. The rest ... nope.

    Fair 'nuff.
