Almost everything I ever got was useless. Imbuing has changed everything about uo. You guys are always talking about unbalancing, now its unbalanced.

What you have gotten 12 years ago, usually had no magical properties and therefore could not be unravelled (without imbuing first).

Old obsolete junk has a strange tendency to go from "useless waste of space" to "rare and collectible" over time (both in-game and in real life).

As i see it imbuing balanced the game . Anyone can get resourses for the imbuing they need . But its not like the items are better than then best items from the best runic tools .

So, you have a bunch of imbuing ingredients. How does that make the game unbalanced?

My imbuing is 52. I have also unravelled thousands of even more useless items than yours that I get from low to med monsters. Bought a bag of 5 property rings for 1k also.

I must be an unbalaned LEET!

    ...

Let's see, you turned 3000 idividual items into 2 or 3 stacked items.

    Working as intended IMO.

If you started to play an MMOG (ESPECIALLY UO) thinking nothing was ever going to change, you picked the wrong game to play.

    Imbuing is fine.

I'm not going to respond negatively here. I'm in TOO GOOD a mood. The stuff I unraveled were things like rings with 15 taming 12 lore, you know uber stuff before this happened. Really good weapons, armor, and jewelry, but now its useless because we can make anything we want if we understand imbuing. Sure you can't make anything as good as with a Valorite hammer (like 1000s of them really were obtained legit), but Valorite hammers have limitations. There are things you cannot make with them because the rng doesn't do it. The rng has known problems if you make enough stuff. We start suits of armor for example with val hammer stuff, and we finish with imbuing.

We can make perfect characters now, or at least characters that couldn't even be considered before.

I didn't even consider the responses I got here before I read them. 6k of res or ess is silly to anyone that worked imbuing for long.

    Not quite.

We CAN'T make "anything". Artifacts in general tend to have either more mods than we can put onto an imbued item, or have a mod that goes beyond the 100% intensity cap that we can put on items.

    So you can't make artifacts.

And yes, you can make some powerful items and suits, but it takes a LOT in order to accomplish this... Powder of Fortification to max out durability, items to unravel for the ingredients, and gems which are currently probably the most insane goldsink lately due to so many people buying them up to train.

And when we DO make that amazing set of items, it has a limited lifespan.

Imbuing is fine. The costs involved are well placed for the benefits.

The one ting from a while back that comes to mind is the old Diminishing Returns vs Proficiency idea that never got off the ground. With the various caps involved on mods, it becomes a calculation game of min/max to balance out a suit... I wonder what it would have been like with Diminishing Returns and how the weighting and limitations would have differed. But that's a long dead idea that is basically only good for "what if" scenarios... a mental exercise only.

Anyway... Imbuing is fine. It doesn't eliminate the Artifact market, it gives crafters a form of control over the items and mods involved, gives a use for "junk loot", and introduces a fun batch of ingredient loot that can be spread out a bit thinner to keep the hunt more enjoyable.

Imbuing must be fine. If it were unbalaned you would see posts here from the PvP community complaining about it.

Give us an example of an item that you wore on a finished character that you replaced with imbuing. Then show how that made the character unbalanced.

Would be easy with my items, I have some crappy stuff.

Imbuing allows you to improve a specific item slot. It also makes it easier for you to make a specific type of suit.

The average player will be like I am. I could improve my suit but I dont want to give up the item I am wearing in that slot.

Are you now wearing imbued items in all the slots that can hold them?

Sorry that this is OT, but I have to say I admire your ability to seemingly always stay positive on these boards. No matter if a thread is good or bad (and no, I don't say this because this thread is a bad one.), you always seem to keep a light heart about things. I truly envy that. You Sir, have a lot of class.

That's it. I have to go, I need to wash this filth off my nose now.
    Cheers!

I thought that was the point of imbuing?? It level's the playing field and those items decay. Seems fine to me.

And I never agree with anything on here. :)

Edit: When I think about it, Imbuing even goes as far as making skills matter again to a degree....

no you can't not even close and that is why imbue is so underpowered ,I'm not saying we should be able to make anything but we definitely don't have the ability to make high powered items on demand we have the power to make some OK stuff on demand.

nobody forces you to unravel your things that is your choice, and if you had crappy stuff after the SA expansion then here's the show stopper you had crappy stuff before and maybe just did not want to realize it

Word. I recently set a goal of being more relaxed in all aspects of my life. I was thinking about that goal when I read that reply and it got me thinking just how hard it's been for me to achieve it. There's not much I'm envious of, but that is a trait in someone for which I am.

Dammit, that stuff is on my nose again... brb
